Ugh, that sucks! I don't understand the people who steal from small businesses. There is NO reason to take someone's handmade items. You don't need them to live! I hope you're able to recuperate from that loss. ❤
Aww I’m so sorry that happened but I love your attitude towards it! It’s a hard part of running a business but I love that you worked with the organisers to find a solution. Glad you otherwise had a great event!
My little cousin is getting into punk cuture and when her freind told her that punks don't give money to big companies she took that as all companies. First I had to teach her that they should not beleive everything their freinds tell them. Then I told her that stealing from small businesses is not punk, and be smart.
Girl you have such a positive outlook, and I understand that being upset won't fix it, but i would be livid! A place like that should have cameras and security in place. I'm sorry you had to go through this, but at least you know to be careful of these types of markets going forward!
You’re such an inspiration and I love the way you handled the situation. I’m really sorry people stole from you but just keep doing what you’re doing cuz you’re awesome ❤
That's unfortunate. Sorry that was your experience. Did the venue mention whether other sellers had the same problem? I used to rent a booth on the monthly at an indoor flea market and kept having inventory go missing. Turned out one of the employees was just pocketing the money when people paid with cash and not ringing the sale up properly. They were caught because other sellers were having the same issue. That completely turned me off of any kind of non-self-manned marketing.
I’m so sorry that happened to you. This happened to me once and it took me almost a week to move on. How can you deal with the monthly one? I thought about doing monthly but after this experience, I don’t really want to anymore. I talked to other vendors and they have small amounts of items missing too. The venue was trying their best to help me resolve the matter tho. I’m grateful that they didn’t just leave me on my own.
@@vivianthestrawberry The one I sold at you just paid a booth fee and got to keep all of your profits. But it was a large place and hard to get a good spot near the front that got more traffic. I have sold at smaller galleries with similar structure and done better, though the space is a lot more limited and they take a percentage. My work is pretty niche at this point, so it's hard to find enough local customers. I am glad they are trying to help you. I bet by next year they will have the kinks worked out.
I don't understand. You didn't processed none of your orders???? None of that is fair and you're crazy if you let them have a chance to do it again. Don't be naive. Be smart and don't let anyone take advantage of you like that again. If the organizer can't and don't have control of security ... you don't need to be there. they need to be held accountable. I feel like my little sister just got robbed. smh
I did a double-take when I saw the Bills logo - I didn’t realize you’re from Buffalo! So cool! :D Is this the Tonawanda Haunted Market? I would like to go this year, it looks so fun. :)
I believe I can. Not 100%c sure tho. Because there aren't really digital paper trail of lost. I have my own inventory list but the venue didn't sign on it so nothing really to compare as proof. I will do more digging. Thank you for the ideas!
Next time pls hand the customer a handwritten invoice slip to pay at the cashier and only release your product to them when they bring back the receipt for the item they bought. That way you can avoid petty theft. I’m sorry so much was stolen from your small business. There are a lot of dishonest people in that community. If I were you I’d never come and do business with those organizers again. 😢
FOUR HUNDRED - that’s AWFUL. I’m so so sorry. How disappointing. You handled it with grace and professionalism, but I’m SURE it must’ve had u’all FUMING. Rightfully so. Huge hugs… Lisa from Ohio 🫶🏻🧶
Have one of each item on the bench, and get people to point for the one they want, and then if they choose that, go under the table and grab the one they want. Because if u put one of each on the bench u are putting on display the ones YOU know are up on display, make sure you take a photo of them on display too, and then every other ones go in a container hidden underneath. I hope you understand what i mean by this, and maybe you can try zip tie them to a shelf so that way when people point to the ones they want, no one can grab them behind your back, but you can go under ur table and find the ones they want. I hope this idea helps, im so sorry this happened.
Unfortunately, at this specific event, I wasn't allow to be there. So this plan won't work with this specific venue. At other markets that I'm there, I've never have any lost lol
😮😢😢 o my - thanks so much for sharing. I feel the same way about people doing something so insensitive. I am so glad that they are working with you. You deserve the best - your display and all your creations and choices are so inspiring - so professional. I bet you would do incredible at a convention where people are investors of creative work - they would appreciate all your efforts more. @kawaiiartcafe does really amazing at cons
thank you so much for your kind words. I've try cons before but didn't do so well with my style since I'm not animate based products. I really do enjoy the markets and bazzar shows tho
@@vivianthestrawberry you do really amazing - where I am in west Texas a lot of the “trade days” and annual county fairs bring in a lot of people - so crazy at my last market a lovely vendor with beautiful hand painted jewelry and beaded earrings said she does really well at a “rattlesnake roundup” of all places - 😳😳 - she said she has nothing to do with the snakes and gun show, but the event has 200 vendors and a carnival - brings in lots of people. So crazy, huh? I never thought of it.

Thank you for your kind words. I moved on now, don't feel sad about it no more. It's just a part of running a business.

I’m so sorry that happened to you! 😢 Your items are all so cute and I love the styles you have! So unique. Especially your crochet items! ❤
Thank youuu 🫶🏻
So sorry you experienced this. I hope better precaution can be taken from the event organizer next time. Congrats on your successes!
Thank you for your kind words. The venue said they will move my table close by the register in future events.
Maybe you could set up a camera at your table to watch over your stuff while your not there or you could be there during the event

I’m so sorry this happened to you!! If you participate with them in the future then definitely insist on being located next to the cashier.
100% for sure I will insist
I love all the behind-the-scenes videos!🥰🥰

Is there a pattern you have for the pumpkin and ghost car hangers? I love them

And this is why I never do events where I'm not the one personally rings up customers.
Can you use that as a loss against your actual sales?

We’re people stealing when you weren’t looking? I’m so sorry this happened to you!😢
Why weren't you at the venue to watch over your stuff? Buy a security camera that you can watch on your phone.
