- **An interview with the original Godzilla!**
SciFi JAPAN TV travels to Sakata in Yamagata prefecture to speak with local hero Haruo Nakajima, best known as the actor who played the original Godzilla, as well check out a photo exhibit in honor of his life and career.

The sad thing is that suit actors are pretty much history now, with CGI taking it's place. But there is something charming about monster suits. It's like a classic silent movie.

I want to say thank you for uploading this video on youtube. I want to say thank you Haruo Nakajima and everyone else from Toho for Godzilla and for working so hard to make Godzilla. When i was watching this i was remembering all the Godzilla movies that i watch sense i was about 3 yrs old. Played the games, watching the movies alot. Godzilla is my favorite childhood movie and monster. I love Godzilla. Good Job on making Godzilla over 50 years :).

I watch my handful of Godzilla movies...I won't ever forget them, they where apart of my life...I hope Godzilla won't die in the near future and will make great movies.
CGI is great, but it can't do what he has done. Great man/monster partnership.

He liked it! We joined him at a special screening on Saturday at the US military base in Yokosuka. It will be part of a bigger episode of SciFi Japan TV coming this summer, covering various 60th anniversary Godzilla events in Japan.

zay lifts I read somewhere how he left the theatre in the middle of the movie and during am interview said that that was not Godzilla, there was no heart in it; in other words he despised the 1998 one.
ACTV Japan that must have been an honor to sit by him in the theater.
thekidj458 He loved the 2014 movie and hated the 1998 movie. In fact, he walked out of the 98 movie. I swear I saw him do an interview on the Red Carpet after the 2014 movie premiered in Japan and he said he got up and cheered when he saw the 2014 Godzilla for the first time in the movie.

Man! Now that I think of it, you don't ee too many giant monster movies or TV shows these days!
I used to do part time IT work for an advertising company. Once I had to go into the basement to run some cable, and found an awesome foam rubber dinosaur suit. I wasn't allowed to try it on, but man, I daydreamed for weeks about roaming around downtown wearing it. lol

Nope.A fan just made a replica of the MosuGoji suit.I must say,he did a pretty good job at making it.
Some Godzilla suits do rot at a long period of time but there are others that are still in good condition like the suits from the Heisei series and the Millennium series.
