In November 2017, Springfield Replaced the 3 Stage Animatronics with the 1-2 Stage Animatronics and the 3 Stage Set was Still There. Just Like Lynnwood, WA.
I remember the first time I went to Roebuck without curtains......It's one of the very few memories I've had with that place (Since I wasn't into CEC at the time I don't remember much if anything of their 3 Stage I regret not going more before it closed. The thought of seeing a phase 3 store with a 3 stage and a tuxedo on Chuck makes my mouth drool XD)
Haha!! Nice! Yes, the 3-stages used to be so cool... props, curtain diversity (Chuck's curtain closing while Helen sang a solo, Boars Head Carol only having Pasqually, etc), and especially the added movements (18 per character roughly).

Not until 2008 when I started going to CEC more often again. I remember besides September, all the shows were amazing and I had my first birthday there! 2008 was the best because of other things too! Lol!! I first visited Springfield in January 2003 and they didn't have it. I heard from a friend that it got dropped/shattered one day during maintenance. Sounds pretty plausible given the fragile nature of the sign. I never missed it, although after visiting lots of other 3-stages, kinda wish Springfield had it too.
By 2005, all stores had their curtains disabled, the only stages to this very day to still have working curtains are the Studio C Alphas which most don't have working curtains either, Betas also have working curtains depending on location. I think their Studio C Stages were becoming more popular at the time so they wanted to add more improvements to that and to keep the other stages as lame as possible. However it is expensive to fix the mechanisms for those curtains and other lighting effects.
If this video gets enough views, yes, I will over the coming weeks. Right now it looks like segment 2 will be uploaded around March 17. Maybe a little earlier, maybe a little later, but that's an estimate.
because photos are things some people like to put in their Archival footage besides filming the show, or because Chris didn't tape the whole thing and a bit was missing.

The written order from Home Office to disable was sent out to all stores around early September.
Thanks!!! Since CEC programs shows months in advance, the curtains were programmed for this show like normal. The show was probably programmed in June or July, produced in July and early August, mastered, then sent out for shipment in late August. So when this was programmed, Dept. 18 had no idea the curtains were going to be gone by September. The stores were just told to disable them manually at the time. IF somebody left the motors on... they would've run like normal in Summer 2005, Sept 05, and Holiday 05 (since it was a reused show, the signals were still on). January 2006 was the very first show where there were *zero* curtain or gobo light signals programmed. However, again... IF the store had VHS and old tapes lying around, and had not manually disabled their curtains they would *still* work with old LIVE! and birthday shows. Pretty complicated, sorry for the long response... hope I explained it well enough, lol. Thanks for the comment!
