This movie is so beautiful and philosophical. All actors are great. RIP Irrfan Khan, the legend.🙏
Trauma induced Dissociative identity disorder. The anger within him was so great he could not accept that he was capable of such, so he watched it as from an outside perspective. He after all was a 'holy man' not a killer.
I cried so much watching this. Gorgeous movie
WOAH!! I've been recommending this gem to reactors for sooo long... THANK you so much for this vid. That was a wonderful watch :)
No matter how much Pi's father tried to convince Pi that the tiger had no soul Pi still believed that it did. This was his faith, his hope, the thing that made him survive. As an agnostic this is how I see all religions. For me personally I don't need it but who knows maybe one day.
I cried watching this reaction lol. The story gets harder to watch each time. Great reaction
My ex animation supervisor from a few years ago worked on the tiger in this film. It was so beautifully done.
so cool. May I ask how he/she became your supervisor?
@@bycozzy. I went to Digital Domain in Vancouver to work on the 'Beauty and the beast' movie and my anim supervisor on that project revealed that he had worked on Life of Pi and showed me his animation reel with the shots.
Such a masterpiece
I watched this film back in 2014 I was god danm love with this movie 8 years later it's still that master peace
I love this film!
A survival fairy tale.
If you’re specifically looking for survival films with water, recommending the film
“In The Heart of the Sea” (2016)
It’s about the true story that inspired Herman Melville to write Moby Dick.
It’s a phenomenal film!
The young actor who played pi patel, studied in my school.
well richard parker was hungry at the shore but he didn't ate Pi, maybe this is his way of saying goodbye, because richard parker still had tough life ahead of him after the sea survival, maybe he doesn't want to let his emotion loose, because emotion will make him weak.
Richard parker couldn't even hunt in his low weight, not strength or speed, he probably died not long after he walked into the forest.
or Maybe because Richard Parker was Pi.
After listening to pi story on the boat and rewatching the film it really shows during moments of himself as the tiger especially the scene of him of orange juice/his mom when she was killed.
At the end i felt emotional.
been waiting for some channel to do this movie! thanks
9:04 If your heart was a prison, I’d want to be sentenced to life.
This film is also about religion vs athiesm. Both stories are upto the audience to believe.
The tiger story is basically what the religion is. Its great for imagination, gives hope and that kind of stories sell more. But the other story he tells at the end with the cook is athiesm. Its boring, nothing great to imagine, and its not great to sell. 99% of the ppl will prefer to believe the tiger story just like how majority of the world prefers to believe in god.
Or, is it?! This story is offering the obvious misconception that beauty is an illusion, or real.
But it is intact, completely dependent on the perspective you choose to look from.
In life ( of Pi= Golden ratio= endless spiral = Samadhi ), you have two stories, one is ugly, sad, violent, without any point or meaning, the other, is Divine, filled with beauty, magic, and even struggle.
One cannot exist without the other. ( Yin Yang, female male, light shadow ) Which makes them both true, but its only a choice, which one you choose to live by.
Which one serves your story, and even when you choose, the other will allways reflect its complete opposite.
None of those options are explainable in the Macro perspective, both as a whole are infact a mystery.
One may as well choose beauty inside an endless mystery.
So this story is an offer, to stretch your level of magnification.
What will you do?

@@Gaia369 yes. Wonderful explanation

Really well explained. Beautiful.
Someone pay em to watch hotel hell
I missed you guys ♥️🤗dunno wth was going on with my notifications
Fun reaction of the movie but I am a little disappointed of how shallow your discussion at the end was. A masterpiece of literature with so many themes to unpack. Most unfortunately, neither of you got the main messages nor symbolisms of the film/book. One theme I took away was how we as a species needed religion to rationalize the sufferings of our world, in doing so, perhaps we may find meanings and salvation in the inevitability of life tragedies.
I've never seen this, because I heard the animals were really fake. It didn't look too bad tho!
The cgi was actually really good when I watched it when it came out in theatres..don’t know how it holds up now
At the time the cgi effects were pretty good. If even got an oscar(?) for best visual effects on that year.
🥲🥲

Great acting, but I hated this movie. One of the most depressing things I have ever seen, I appreciate all of the meaning behind it... but I hope I never see it again. Lol.
Invisible dislikes are from headphone users and your intros lol
So basically the moral of this movie is "Real life is too depressing, so you should just retreat into a fantasy world, and that's why everyone should be religious."
@Ryan Lohner Okay wannabe edgelord 🙄
@@spiritscar It's actually even more obvious in the book.
@@Rmlohner no it's not
