One biggest thing I have learned having been here in Emerald Isle, is the value of your time with friends turned to family and the contentment of being simple in living here. Earning more money in a different country is lucrative but it still brings it one's preference at the end of the day. Love your videos!

In every States, there are different cases and rates.I worked in Ireland as well for 8 years before going to the US. I didn't save a lot even though I had a part-time job. The cost of living is high. I have a family so even though I was earning max still it wasn't enough. My husband couldn't get the right job and not to mention the tax. I couldn't afford to have a mortgage. Even television tax needs to be paid every year. So, I decided to move to the US. I think it is the best decision that I made.First stop was in SC, I got 32/ hr after my contract of 3 years in the agency ( it was 25/ hr). I need to look for the second job to sustain my bills. Then, I moved to TX, I earned 64/ hr. Every year it will increase and there will be a merit as well. I didn't do OT or a second job anymore. I have savings now and an emergency fund. TX has a low cost of living. I am in Houston. It is a city, but I can afford. My child is in private school,2 cars and a house. I live my life to the fullest. It is up to you or depends on how you live your life.

As an RN who worked in the Middle East before I moved here in the US, a part of me regrets moving here because there’s more work-life balance and unbelievable level of safety in the Middle East. You can go to so many places within a minutes to just a couple of hours, public places are extremely safe to the point of not being worried of my stuff being stolen. Work wise I’m dismayed with the unprofessional expressions and behavior of the staff and doctors. I’ve been a nurse for 15 years and I”m never experienced medical and nursing staff say F words and Sh words at work, only in the US. Although they’re nice but extremely unprofessional that you get embarrassed. If money is more important to you than morals then USA is the place for you. But if you want a peaceful life surrounded by people of etiquette and respect, and a tax-free and fear-free life then Middle East awaits you. Di ba ang daming sinabi 😊

Hi Kristina, interesting yung pount of view mo. Para syang taliwas sa karamihan. For others usa is better when it comes to professionalism and safety vs Middle east . But ika nga nila to each is own, (tama ba) hahaha. Anyway. Dpende tlaga sa bawat tao. So are you still in the USA? Glad to hear your comment.

I worked in Khamis Mushayt,KSA as an ICU nurse. I didn't finish my contract coz I had a bad experience. Karamihan dun manyakis. I thought I would be safe KC MGA soldiers pero Hindi.Though Hindi siya strict masyado, still dami Bawal esp.sa MGA babae. Delikado. Dapat you have somebody with you going out to souk or taxi. When I was young, I missed KSA KC kayu2 lang, walang family to mind. Pasyal at party. Puro friends, but then as you mature. Nagiiba perspective mo sa buhay. You want more security for yourself and your family' s future in terms of finances. KSA is a good start for abroad. KC matagal processing sa US at Europe. I don't know if may benefits na like sa retirement period sa KSA. Once you finish your contract. You can get some money for years of service but that's it. USA has 50 states:) You can explore. Crime is everywhere Lalo n kpg madaming itim.Ingat lang lagi. Don't go sa MGA hotspot. Ugali ng MGA American are very straightforward.Hindi sila tutulong kung di ka ask ng help. Daming tamad din:) Hindi mahilig sa tsismis:) I never seen them reading about "artista" more on politics. Since I moved here in TX. I noticed their main focus is family first. Every weekend, they need to go out or dine with family. I have closed ties with the Filipino community, so we have parties every now and then. In terms of balancing work and life, as I said,it is up to you. If you want to work more,it is up to you. Some here,Wala pang 50 yo, part time na lang siya KC may work din hubby niya. I am still full time pero di na ko work to the max unlike before KC may work hubby ko. Just pray, God will direct you which way you will go:) 💖

We lived and worked as Nurses in Dublin, Ireland for 9 years then moved to USA. Ireland is a beautiful country and nice people, the only draw back is the standard of living very expensive vis a vis to the salary. It’s easier to get into the housing ladder in USA, much higher wages double or triple than Ireland. Easy to buy brand new cars, cheaper grocery. In short USA has highest salary among other rich countries then cheaper standard of living.

I lived and worked in London for 6 years as ICU nurse and 8 years in Dublin as ICU nurse too before moving to the USA. Yung sahod ko sa DUBLIN and LONDON kahit pag isahin hindi pa mangangalahati sa sina sahod ko sa California ngayon. My only regret was not moving to the USA sooner, i wasted almost half of my nursing career in London and Dublin. I work 3 (12 shifts) in a week and 4 days off in a week sa California this is the standard work hour dito sa America. Europe tax is higher kasi free ang healthcare, but the pay is abysmal!!

Life here in US is very varied. Depends where you are, rural, small city or suburb or large city like LA or NY. Its like night and day. Parang Pinas. The difference lang siguro is population. Sa rural areas natin sa Pinas, there are still a lot of people. Dito sa rural areas nila, the population is really low. If you are from Manila, it will be hard to adjust to rural life here. You will get so lonely or bored. Baka ma-depress ka. So I do not blame him for wanting to leave or transfer. Goodluck.

If you are single, consider cruiseship nurse. Free travels tax free salary, libre lahat and treated as officers single cabin, cleaning sa cabin every 2 days and laundry, can bring family onboard w big discounts etc. Mag duduty na lang and gala every port. Salaries are not bad either. In our company is giving 5.5k usd plus hospital commission. W some other big companies giving even higher rates. But then again, ships life is likely for singles and palagala. Its not as stable as landbased or if you think longterm.

US kc out of 50 states you have enough to choose if you prefer colder or warmer states, then salary rate or advantage din ang variety like semi urban and rural that way when youre single and wants night life madaming lively town you can hangout. Also you can always do 3 jobs if you like... lalo na pinoy wants to make extra money. I see a lot of other asians most likely Indians they pursue bachelor degrees and then get higher paid job.

Do not limit yourself, earn more, save, invest and be set for life. If you are smart with money, you can get into upper middle class or get rich in USA! US is a HUGE country. Your guest from North Dakota is spot on with his experience. When you’re in a workplace everyone is equal as long as you perform your job and stay on your lane. MDs treat you with respect as their job is dependent on the feedback of nurses. Collaboration among the team is significant for the patients wellbeing. Try and move to a bigger city like Bismarck. You’re saving $$$ for a $350 rent that’s a snag. If you go South Dakota there are plenty of landmarks and scenic places to see. You will get more if you move to metropolis and hotspots will be within reach. Good luck

America is a capitalist country and has ingrained in us to work, work, work, pay taxes and die.
They claim to embrace work, life balance, but it's nothing but talk. I was caught up in the matrix and work was my only identity. Then one day a colleague of mine passed away suddenly and his job was posted, before his obituary. 😢
Yes, money is important in order to achieve our goals (home ownership, travel, pay down debt, retirement), but do not allow it to be your only focus. I know it's easier said than done, especially when you have family that may be depending on you.
There are so many other countries where you can thrive professionally and personally. I've had so many friends that have left America, due to the lack of work, life balance and community. 😢
Nonetheless, make yourself a priority, because no one else will.

Hello ! Hmmmm. Introvert din ako eh. Im not sure about New Zealand kasi ndi naman ako nag work doon. I think mas versatile ang New Zealand when it comes to landscapes and all and close sa Pinas. Sa Ireland naman same din puro nature and simple living , tapos malapit sa mga European countries, easy mag travel around. Pero malayo sa Pinas . May pros and cons I think. Di lang ako sure sa cost of living sa New Zealand , pero sa Ireland mejo mahal tlga manirahan.

hello Denden! first of all congratulations on your USA application:) and I'm glad to know you're also working in the ICU :) Bakit mo nasabi na downgrade? Kasi step- down? Ikaw na nga nagsabi , to go to USA is your dream, I don't know what's the system in USA pero dito sa Ireland nag start din ako sa stepdown for ilang months before ako trinansfer sa ICU:) think about your "why" bakit ka mag USA? is it to become an ICU nurse ? to live a better life and earn more.? You can always change your post while you're in USA na, it will be easy. I wish you luck, and just enjoy the journey.
