- The first North American add-on released for TS classic in 2023 is the new LIRR M3.
Model by Reppo and other bits from some of the devs that created the LIRR route itself - Included are 3 scenarios for the aforementioned route as well as being quick drive compatible with fully capable ATC and ACSES.
Let's have a look.

Oh memories of many a drunken night back from NYC to the Island on those things. Lights under the cars is a def screw up - we just need the rest of the line to Ronkonkoma
This to me looks more dissimilar in 3D modeling to the Reppo M2/4 and much more of a direct port of the TSW World M3. The textures are pretty much a carryover, which to me is fine, considering the TSW M3 looks damn good, but some things definitely got crunchy during the conversion. An unfortunate drawback about TS Classic is that stainless steel never looks right, but I actually think this somewhat authentic looking. Most of the TS Classic stainless steel stock just looks FLAT BRIGHT WHITE, but this has a somewhat grey hue which I think looks better. The only reason I got these is for the fact that there will be Metro North reskins, and those will be perfect for the Hudson Line to run with the M7 for the electric local services. All in all I’m glad it happened and don’t regret the purchase.
36:52 Game put you on the abandoned portion of the Montauk branch. Right here where the track widens out used to be the LIRR Richmond Hill Station, used by diesels into Queens.
If there’s gonna be a Train Sim 4 this would be an absolutely perfect easter egg to put the Lirr Richmond Hill Station in the LIRR DLC wouldn’t you think?
Funny Discovery. I put a bunch of LIRR M7s in the Metro North Map and it ran so much better.
I do have to say of all the times I've ever sat at a crossing when one of those went by and all the times I've ridden in one, I've never heard the traction motor. The M3 motors are insanely quiet compared to the M7
They are indeed very faint.
I did although hear them today as a matter of fact In the tunnel i could juuust make out the faint whine
Hello Happy New Year, that's funny 14 FPS haha. Need to do a review on "Loco Shortline Operations" on Steam new update is pretty nice game has so much potential given the game is being built by one guy. Nice looking American Diesels along with the ability to run 100 car freight trains online with others. The Developer plans on adding real world physics in game along with a butt load of other things in future.

Do you think the FPS would be fixed by swapping all the M7 by M3s in scenarios (excluding the drivers one) ?
probably, yes
Thats a good question. The main issues are the shadow casting lights within the m7 and other various light issue as well as the m7 scripting. Both of which are being worked 🤞
Well i tested something else as i dont have m3 :i swapped evrything with the M7 from Hudson line. Unfortunatly still 15 fps at Jamaica.
I also tried the Saturday Stakes (7th of origan LIRR line) scenario, swapping evrything, not better.. :(
I hope the M3A comes out for the Hudson line.

The M3 doesn't have red marker lights on in the "front" end. It will only show the red marker lights from behind

Any new LIRR improvements or tips to boost FPS?
Sadly none officially besides lowering settings. One of the devs have been testing beta to fix the constant scripting issues w the M7 which is a majority of the problem. Id imagine a patch would be out relatively soon
Hold on M3'S are also supposed to have bells

Ooofa. Hard question. Theres alot, sd70/acu from SS, mlw m420 from DW, various steamers from MR, the RGS route from milepost the modding side of things as well. Who knows whats out there 😉

It seems that DTG needs to fix the base product. Disappointing start to the year.
I hate the way sounds work in this 2009 ass game. The thing with the horn end sound popping in.. It's because default scripting for Railworks makes it impossible to have a clean loop through out the button press. You have to inject so many more goddamn lines of code in order to even attempt to make the horn fade out properly at the end of a button press. This should have been fixed 8 years ago. As far as the exterior horn goes, They used a stereo sound. TS will not add doppler or fade to anything that isn't mono exterior wise.
"I could really give a damn" and "I could care less" - it drives me mad when people corrupt these phrases! "I could really give a damn" literally means you *could* give a damn. The correct phrases are "I couldn't really give a damn" and "I couldn't care less". The only place in the world you hear the "I *could* give a damn" corruptions, is in the US........ but not *all* Americans! Some say the correct versions.

It’s funny u say it’s bullshit if the route doesn’t lag on a computer. But yet it doesn’t on mine. I have a mega fast desktop. 150 FPS. And no issue. LOL
