That was absolutely superb! Having gotten a Type 246 in 2024, the interview made it all feel totally new and exciting. It is a great reminder of “why Leica”-you don’t have to chase this year’s model over and over. Thanks for re-releasing a great interview!
Yes, always wear a camera. The best advice, thank you Thorsten. Started my Leica adventures with a silver M3. Her frock was a bit brittle and tired when I received her so I recovered her in a 1950’s shade of 🩷 pink 🩷 snake skin. That was 15 years ago but she’ll never go out of style. Timeless beauty.
What a fun video. Love that you got him on the floor at the show for the interview! 😊 I have the M246 Monochrom version of the 240. Great tank of a camera. Love the mugs! Love the channel.
Very good interview. I like the way you also ask questions not related directly to photography, things we didn't know we wanted to know, but once asked we want to know the answer. Would be nice to see more interviews on your channel.
Thanks Thorsten for posting this. Such an interesting informative interview with Stefan and laid back style you were both horizontal. You enthused me about the Digilux 2, love that camera and now have the M-P 240 which I love. About to purchase your Masterclass video, be nice to settle back to watch it with freshly brewed coffee in an Always Wear a Camera mug!
Indeed an unusual interview setup with Stefan Daniel. Thank you for sharing this clip! I hope Leica returns to what they stand for: Simplicity and “Das Wesentliche”. Bringing back a minimalist digital M, comparable to the M10-D, would be a dream come true.
Leica M has made me want to create photos. Your videos and books have helped me look for light to work magic with. The Leica glass is inspiring. I carry my m10 more than ever because of your words about always carrying a camera. Thank you for sharing your passion.
Since I watch your videos and read your books I rediscovered the joy of taking photos and I can't take out of my mind the idea of replacing my Q2 with an M. It feels like "the return to innocence" :)
Fascinating interview … thanks! I can relate to spending a lifetime working at a world famous manufacturer having started as a summer student/apprentice. I’m retired now so more time to practice your always wear a camera philosophy! As always, I very much appreciate your skills & product information as well as the fun presentation and inspiration! 📷🙂
I have the 100th anniversary edition of M240 in silver. I especially like the red frame line and the long-lasting battery of the M240. It is the one M that I have been using a lot with the vintage lenses like the xenon, rigid, 50 mm Summarit f1.5, and the 50 mm Summilux version 2; all in silver.
Found a M240 then in Germany on the Ground floor of a Leica Office, that I bought and still use today. If was the Leica Rahn Frankfurt office, though, then. 🙂
Fotokina was every second year in Cologne. The first time is impressive and exiting. The second time is tiresome, especially when deeply immersed in photography. If you know what you need and want you would not go there again😅
Great video, i think M240/262 has very organic look and enough mp for a long time. I convert my photos to black and white and the look is awesome as you said
I’m thinking to buy an m240 or 262. What you think of the iso around 3200 given that editing softwares have come a long way since this camera came out. I mainly shoot during the day tho, zone focusing using 800 or 1600 iso on my xpro2. But I really want something more tactile.
Leica m11 didn't sit well with me . I dont like the removal of the bottom plate, i dont like the increase in megapixel and all the challenges that comes with that. I absolutely love my m10, the original Leica q, and the m10 monochrome. But nothing, NOTHING beats the old M9. Its well brassed, and have taken 90 000 + images. Yes, the censor is replaced and it still produce stunning images to this day. Leica should focus less on megapixel and more of producing a sensor with great colors and feel. Jus imagen Leica dropping a CCD censor today.. That would do great on iso 3200 + And around the 24-40 megapixel mark. That would be AWSM!
Ive spent hours here trying to think of something intellegent to say but Ive come up with nothing! But I have bought a ton of Leica stuff because of your videos... My wife doesnt like you!

Thorsten, the man with all round style and talent.
I love my Q3 and really enjoy your videos. Thanks for the work in creating them!
Welcome! 🙂

Very fine interview Thorsten!
Thank you 🙂
I still use my 246 Monochrom. I also have a Q2 Monochrom, but fantastic cameras. Keep up the great work.
That intro was absolutely brilliant!
Thank you 🙂

You're not the only one who felt like that. I'll spare you the prediction about what is going to happen next 🙂
@@MagicOfLight_ThorstenOvergaard then I will work hard to fulfill this prediction. I am very sure it is worth it 😀

Yes, it makes sense to work on something worthwhile that persist in the future 🙂
Please coffee, give me coffee 🙏 Love this cup and your clame #allwayswearacamera ☕️📷
That interview is a piece of history in itself
Yes, it had to be preserved here :-)
Thank you for another inspirational piece !!
Welcome 🙂
I got my M11 Monochrom. I hope to see you in Chicago!
🙂
Hey Thorston. Have you ever tested old Russian USSR lenses from the 30s-50s? thank you
Getting a suitcase of Russian lenses soon to play with.
@@MagicOfLight_ThorstenOvergaard please do a short review. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thank you

Excellent 🎉

Love the color from Leica M (240) generation (Q, SL (601)) plus M Mono
Yes, that was/is a good generation of sensors.
Always great info. A lot of insight on the Leica world. And yes always carry a camera..
Thank you 🙂
What about the Leica T?
Yes, I used the TL2 quite a bit, but that is in the past now I think.

Great video
Thank you 🙂
*Leica M60 was the first digital Leica rf without a screen
Yes, that is right. I did this article on the editions, and a possible M11-D: www.overgaard.dk/leica-M11-D-digital-rangefinder-camera-page-8.html
@@MagicOfLight_ThorstenOvergaard you're the champ 🔥
thank you ❤️✌️ adore b&w and the Q2M

Yes, I agree.
Carrying my comfort black Leica M11 I’m looking for a red handle. ;-) Just came back from a Hungary-Vienna Trip with my M11-NLX50f1.2

Hello Thorsten can you please check the email? I havent received any contacts or shippent of Ventilated shades😢
Just love my MD262. It makes me a better photographer, it shoots like a film camera...!
Yes, it is a beauty and a classic 🙂
I like the mug specially the black and white one … annex monochrom sins I’m a M11 monochrom user .
E-type is such a beautiful car, I would love to have any Mercedes from the 70’s
Det er nogle gode presets til "Leica Look" ..... bruger de presets en del 📸 😉👍
Two cups to room Two please 🙂
My first regret about using my only Leica was when I sold it.- Still feel the sting of that decision.
Yes, one sometimes want to buy it back, but it's not the same as having "the old original one"
How about “you must be a mug if you don’t carry a camera “
Wetzlar campus in Solms is 100km frm my home, it could be interesting to go for a visit 😂
Buying a Leica changed my photography but Always Wearing a Camera changed my life.
Going to quote you on that 🙂
I like the red coffee cup it matches my Leica underwear, :)

I sometimes wonder how much you could charge extra for a CCD sensor camera ...
Seems like yesterday.
It does, doesn't it!
Underwear is optional
Tough dudes you are to last 40 minutes on your elbows!
Always let the camera carry you
Ha ha 🙂
I wear a camera so often my wife calls it my mistress.
Oh!
Ive spent hours here trying to think of something intellegent to say but Ive come up with nothing! But I have bought a ton of Leica stuff because of your videos... My wife doesnt like you!
She secretly loves that you have a passion ❣
