I first heard this song 11 years ago. The day after my momma died of cancer. I bawled through the whole thing. I took care of her for years while she battled cancer. I fed her (feeding tube), gave her all her medication, helped her bathe. I'd do it all again if I could have her back.
This song must have been extra hard to sing for Sharon, especially after she lost her father not long before this tour. I saw WT in 2018, this was very hard to watch, seeing Sharon in such pain, and now it's not easier to watch you get so emotional as well, I want to give you a big, big hug ❤
Yeah it's gut wrenching.. there's also a version where she breaks down on stage, and the crowd immediately started cheering her on in support. Heartbreaking but beautiful, one of the few performances that gives me tears in my eyes every time.
I also saw them live in 2018 and it was hard to see her sing this song, because I knew exactly what she was going through. However she did an amazing job as usual
I've been in that spot so many times. Just staring at the water. Trying to come up with reason not to jump from the bridge and erase all the pain. People who never went through something like that will never understand how it feels like to be all alone in that dark, painful place and struggle to simply live for one more day instead of taking the easy way out here and now. Linking Park helped me. Bless you, Chester, wherever you are. You screamed when I felt like screaming. Listening to your songs helped. But it's Sharon who made me realize what I would've done if I killed myself. This song, "Forgiven" helps me keep my demons at bay. And also a woman that I met. Still, I do understand why people commit suicide. And let me tell you this: WORDS DO HAVE POWER. You can kill a man with words alone. And sometimes it takes but a single word… to save a life. Why people commit suicide? Because they needed to hear something. And literally nobody realized in time.
Sharon sung this with so much sensitivity. She really gives it all. I can see the pain in her. I personally can see the real damage done by a suicide in the 2 children my sister in law left behind after she took her decision to step out of life. She never could cope with the loss of her first husband who died of a serious disease and left her behind with a 2 year old daughter. Later on she got her second daughter out of a very complex situation which i still cannot quite comprehend. It's impossible to explain anything of this to a child if you can't explain it to yourself. So the only thing you can do is just be there.
Rogier...what a tragic...very sad..story.... I am sorry for the loss that you and your family...and especially..the kids.....had to go through..and still.. So courageous here to tell..and let it out of your heart... Rogier...i ll send you positive vibes..full of love and light for all of you there... I wish you and the family better than best...a beautiful life.! I ll give from here the kids some "flying huggs".. 🙏💜🧚♀️🦄🦄💐🕊
Powerful words as well dude, you are one of the few TH-camrs I believe when you say you give a shit. Keep on shining man! And mad respect for Sharon performing this. She had recently lost her father to illness before this, can't imagine how hard it must have been.

This is what puts Within Temptation's brand of symphonic metal entirely in a class of it's own...
She reaches deep, deep down inside us...

Best thing a kid can do for her momma. I know that your momma is very proud of you!
This was one of many songs I listen to in 2007 to find solace when my dad passed away. It just perfectly captured the feelings.
the point is, its all forgiven. ❤️
Heartbreakingly beautiful. And so were your words. 🌷
This is so emotional and heartbreakingly beautiful. 💔💯 Love Sharon's voice in here. It really gets you in the feels.

It was very Beautiful and yiu could see the pain on her face. She is so Beautiful and funny
WT is always awesome:-)
Pale from 2005 is really beautiful too!!!
If I'm correct this song is about Sharon losing her father
@@mauijttewaal This was written back in 2007. A friend of hers had his son (I believe) commit suicide and she wrote it from his conversation, IIRC
The death of her father made her take a break from WT and do her solo project My Indigo, also really worth checking out!

You must listen to her duet with Anneke van Giersbergen on a song called 'Somewhere'. Extraordinary harmonies and feelings.
