Woman versus pile of newspapers. 🙂 Let's play ball!
This stack of newspapers has been eagerly waiting for me to go through them and take out the Sports pages. As you know, my neighbor regularly comes by to collect those. He's a farmer and always brings fresh veggies. Last time, he gave us sweet zucchini (courgettes), spicy radishes and anisey fennel. Yummy!
Newspaper sorting is a task I always enjoy doing, because the repetitiveness of it lulls me into a state of calmness. I hope you're being taking to that same place while watching me shuffle the newspapers around.

This makes me think of my grandpa. He used to read the newspaper and do the crosswords every day. Thanks for the good memories.

😀 You're not far off, Patrice. He's well into his seventies and wear overalls and a cap (usually a grey one) but he's not on his tractor when he stops by. He's on an old, squeaking bicycle, the veggies in a crate on his luggage rack. 🚲 🙂🍅🥕

This little routine with your neighbour is really sweet! And I've been thinking, how long have you guys been doing this ?
Thanks for asking, Ivah. ❤ We've been doing this for many years. It started when Farmer Neighbor, who's out working his fields from early in the morning on most days, had noticed the newspaper delivery van stop by our house between 6 and 7 o'clock. That's when he asked me about our newspaper subscription and whether he could come pick up the sports pages.
I guess it's a win win type of situation. 🙂

Newspaper reports were the way to go before TV and cable news took off. I still read them however. Even so, I see people read newspapers but very rarely. For the most part, they just stay on the rack for days on end at the store.
Thanks for contributing! ❤ I've always wondered what happens to newspapers that don't get sold by the end of the day...Are they destroyed? Returned to sender? 🤷♀️
It's surprising how, in Asia and Latin America, newspapers are still doing well whereas in most other regions they've been steadily declining. It's especially sad how many thousands of local newspapers had to close up shop, which caused communities to get more fragmented and lose part of their sense of coherence.
@@PoisabloomASMR one would think at the very least they should be donated to animal rescues or vet offices or pet stores for animal cages , bedding etc

A deal is a deal.
No one reads physical newspapers in the US anymore, but even when we did, “newsprint” was entirely different, extremely thin paper. It never sounded like this.

Many people in the United States still read the newspaper for those living under a rock or so young they barely know what a newspaper is!
