I would like to state and remember, about the DPS, it was confirmed on Spectrum that the F7C being able to equip the F7A ball turret is a BUG. So this is possible exclusively now, but likely, it will not be possible in the future.
Both are great! Sabre wins for me. The way it flies and shoots feels sooo good!!!! The way it looks and having two engines no one big one is sexy to me. Plus, it has a smaller profile and more hull hp. Plus the ghost one day will need to keep its stealth top on. I’ll be flying a Sabre for atmosphere/stealth and I’ll fly a Hornet F7A MKII for combat when I want to shred a less than mobile ship. But who knows I also want an Anvil Paladin which will get nerfed so don’t listen to me. Amazing video! o7
3:26 You can give the hornet a full point there because the Hornet also has a very tiny fuel scoop (0,0022 SCU Hydrogen per Minute for all MK2 Hornets)and can generate fuel, its a hidden stat but it's there. Even if you run out of fuel right bevore a station all you need is to wait 10 min to make the last leg and being able refuel (Happended to one of my org mates, took us 10 min to arrive but the SRV was Broken and the Starfarer was bugged but the internal fuel scoop gatherd enough to get the engine working again, barely but working)

Your DPS calculation is not a good comparison if you are counting the Ghost having a turret. It's not it's purpose. How can you compare if you remove the stealth for turrets. Also, you are basically telling me that I can only equip the turret only if I have or can find somebody with the Hornet F7A MkII. Appreciate your work but I feel like you're comparing apples and oranges if you are adding the turret to the ghost which is unfair.
@@Phoenixstorm36 I'm not sure if they fixed it, but the stealth bonus was previously tied to the chassis itself and not the cap. So people would just buy the ghost for the stealth and equip the F7A turret. But in a functional game, you are correct.
The Ardor is overrated and still suffers the main drawback of the attritions, slow muzzle velocity. For PvE and Larger PvP targets usefull but CF & NDB series is still king in dogfights. Sabre and MK I Hornet alsohave the ability to have access to S2 Weapons that comes really handy with the if you want a more niche setup were dps isn't everything.
@ It’s 2. You can perform space insurance fraud. Unlock ports, take them off. Destroy ship, claim ship attach the 2 andors left on the side, store ship, change something and save ship load out. Then you have 4x. They feel so good, tons of damage! Downside is they are rusted and damaged so it can look strange with a clean looking ship paint
You can get them as salvage from missions (granted you need to know which missions.) So, id say they are fair game. But I do agree that it skews values more into the hornets favor. But even without that, the Hornet still wins on dps. Because you can equip 3s4's and one s3 on it, with easily purchased componets. Before the F7A's were available I was doing this with the F7C. The thing that wins it for the Sabre for me, is the range on one of the s2 guns. The Strife Mass Driver. Has a range of 5.5 km. Sure you significantly lower your dps when using it, but you can fire from well beyond your signature, allowing for a full stealth attack. For this the hornet looses, because the S4 wing guns can't be downsized to s2. And all equitable weapons for it require attacking within its visable range. Or you have to just not use its biggest weapons, reducing its damage output significantly. The MK1 does it better here. Maybe when we get real stealth in game, it will be better but for now the sabre wins as a stealth ship. Now if we could just get it so that the Eclipse could attack stealthy, e.g. without warning every enemy with in 20 km that you fired a torpedo. We would be set.

Great content. Suggestion…stealth builds for the more common ships in the verse. For example, I was able to build a pretty effective stealth Cutty Black. Makes me think stealth will get nerfed in the future. I think many people want this for Pyro…especially ships that have greater QT range.
New to the idea of stealth in SC because normally I just try and outsize my the NPCs in guns and shields. Is the idea of stealth to be able to get in, lock missiles, fire and bug out before you're found or to engage from a closer range and be harder to spot during a dogfight?
Just melted my F7C-S MKII. CIG did never mentioned that other than the F7A ball turret that you can only unequip from it, you could not equip any on top of it and it's max DPS is then only 2300 or so. So yeah, it's melted and I excahnged it to a Sabre.
Not at ALL a fair comparison with an F7A ball turret when you can buy it. If you didn't go through the missions, you can't get it. It should be only 4 x S3 vs 2 S4, so the Sabre won that one as well. That makes it 7 to 2.5. Sabre quietly crushes the ghost! Sabre is a such a great flying ship...so uniform and predictable. That said, the F7A is a badass ship! Yeah, you know it is coming...and you are afraid!
Sabre gets one more point as well. Because of the stealth modifiers. Sabre has a 40% stealth signature reduction, where the hornet only has 28%. So, not only are its signatures lower, they are reduced more. Im happy cig listened to us on this, becaue a dedicated stealth ship should be more stealthy than one hwere it was added on after the fact. What bugs me is the coolers, both ships showed they did not have enough cooling in your builds, is there a reason for that?
A friend equipped his Sabre with all class A stealth, and I was in Ghost MK2 with same, and detection of each other, face to face, was 1.2K. Both ships will be deadly for those not patrolling. The MK2 is fragile, so don't get hit! :)
For what it's worth, the Sabre has been pretty fun and reasonably balanced for quite a while. The wings get shot off a little too easy, but the quad size 3s are always good, and it flys great
I doubted the Sabre for a very long time, now i picked the sabre up myself since the firebird was such fun but falls short in dogfighting and the sabre is exactly my kind of fun :3
Love the videos Foxy, but sadly have to disagree with how you compared the weapons and missiles. Not everyone has a F7A MKII to steal the turret from so using this turret is a bit misleading. Also for the missiles the Rattlers have a very high DPS for what they are so again that is misleading. The load outs should have been stock vs stock imo.
You are absolutely wrong about the weapons though. You are not comparing a Ghost with a Sabre. You are comparing a F7A to a Sabre… because if you replace the Signature Reduction unit with the ball turret, it ceases to be a Hornet Ghost… please just compare the two ships in their intended role…
Firebird is amazing ngl it's missles hit 9/10 times full boost shoot at 1.9 if single missle and 2.1 if all qued you only need 2 missles to take out most fighters. It's beautiful
Sabre is the best. Especially the Firebird variant for me. What's the point of stealth if you have to engage in a dogfight anyways? I never understood the hornet ghost at all. Sneak in launch your missiles and get out is how stealth should be.
you should correct that part about weaponary for hornet. although it is true u can use the ball turret for hornet. i will 100% guarantee you that u need the stealth ghost cap to get stealth access. making weapon for hornet ghost having 2 size 4 and 2 size 2 nose guns
I don't know about the damage. You need a turret that you can only get from a ship that is not always available. Not sure that should count. I have the C version of the hornet but with no event....
I don't really understand the use of stealth in game for single pilot fighter, as they comoletely lack the ability to silent kill the opponent: may be stalk a orey in a pirate fleet, but then where are you putting the loot, unless you have a fleet? This being said, it is cool to see the Sabre gets an edge, despite being older.

With the sabre it means you can boost out of eengagement ranges and disappear, allowing you to re-engage with the advantage of surprise.
I get that stats wise all the Hornets are annoying overpowered, but the Sabre will always be my first and greatest love in the game (aside from the Avenger). Honestly all the hornets need a slight nerf. The Sabre has needed a solid buff for years. So beautiful.
6:23 You could also leave 1 Cooler (even if tuned off it still emits EM) empty because it isn't needed and redundancy isn't a thing in small ships since everything get hits and sits right next to each other.
you cant really compare the two with the caveat of 'if you own this other limited edition ship you can take parts off and put it on here' if the parts arent available to buy in game you shouldnt count them
I'll stick with the Sabre ingame credit buy. Does the job and zero need for min max, this is a casual unbalanced bug fest of a development platform. Zero justification to use real money past a starter pack.
What do you mean no more funding? 😂 Sure, it's lower than previous years, but it's by no means small. The year isn't finished yet and I bet they're relying on a spike for 4.0 with the Guardian and maybe another ship/feature released. It's delusional to think the funding would keep going up and surpassing previous years... it had to hit a ceiling eventually, I mean... people can only pledge for so many ships. If you have the orignal Ghost 1 - it's even more stealthy than the Ghost MKII AND the Saber.

The Ghost doesn't get stealth reduction WITHOUT that top turret module.
So it has lower DPS than the Saber or higher signature.

I planned on building a squad consisting of a f7c mk2, sabre, sabre firebird and f8c.

Also, most of us don't have access to the Turret of the F7A, which scks a ton and makes the f7C less powerfull
In my personal testing the sabre won the argument, lets see which conclision foxy gets and perhaps i overlooked something.
