Lyrics
I come pulling all the stops
Putting rain on all of this
With the sirens in my sleep
And her sorrow at my kiss
I can't turn away
Hold a hand to when you pray
All her vanity and fate
Written on her crazy face
Here in my head
I hear you say
Here in my head
I hear you pray
Time is what it's made
Made by others i regret
Remember me i hear it said
Out of faces i forget
Hope you get up off your feet
Shake the dust out of your shoes
City lights and all my jazz
All my demonstrations too
Here in my head
I hear you say
Here in my head
I hear you pray
Time is what it's made
Made by others i regret
Remember me i hear it said
Out of faces i forget
Here in my head
I hear you say
Here in my head
I hear you pray
Here in my head
I hear you say
Here in my head
I hear you pray
The Beautiful Furs ❤❤❤
Came here because of the Good Riddance cover. Always loved the Furs and don't know how I missed this original. Amazing!
Love this song so much... it's so joyous and tremendous and fills you with so much feeling and energy and yet also a little sad and nostalgic
You just wrote the definition of a great song.
So sorry.
One of the most underrated songs ever thanks
very true.
Completamente de acuerdo. Beautiful!.
What makes you believe it's underrated?
Yes
IMO, Their best album!
What a fantastic tune this is, a total gem.
That whole album brings back wonderful memories of someone that was very special, and sadly is no longer with us...😢
I would have a hard time nailing down my favorite furs song, but I will say this one, Run and Run, High Wire Days, Forever Now and House are right up there as my favs.
good picks
What a blast of refreshing oxygen! This is the penultimate Furs song! Striking at the start and maintains the energy throughout its entirety. A gift beyond measure from the band I have loved since the early 1980s and been fortunate to see 4 times in Florida 😊
Only just discovering this band now. Haven't got a clue how or why but wow. Most underrated group ever.
From one of my favorite Furs albums. I've been fortunate enough to see them about five times in Austin. I will always love the Furs.
BRITISH 🇬🇧 BEST GROUP BAND EVER
MASTERPIECE
FABULOUS
It just takes One of their fine Songs delivered in this crisp, cool way, and it ALL comes flooding back AGAIN!! FINE energy & design!
got to see them once in baltimore, they didn't play this one but it was a great show. love my way was absolutely magical live
How can a song be both joyful and sad at the same time?
Amazing.
Wonderful song.
Joyful and sad in the same time.. that is life.
Probably (sure) the best album in the whole 90's decade
oh that's a good point and here's another but this is the opening of our set as the cinematic furs th-cam.com/video/DT-yTfRA3Lg/w-d-xo.html
Ive listened to this many a time on Transatlantic flights from the UK to America
I love this tune I'm reminded of flock of seagulls space age love song
Our souls need more of this feeling. fun and sadness is what the soul is made of.
Wise words !
This song is forever In My Head.
Hands-down the best live band I’ve ever seen. I saw them on this tour in ‘91 (maybe early ‘92) at the Moore Theater in Seattle. I loved watching Richard Butler play tug-of-war with security while trying to pull fans on stage. Clearly they were there to make sure everyone had a great time. Entertainment at its finest!
I saw them in Chicago on the Book of Days tour. I hadn't seen them live since the Forever Now Tour at First Avenue in Minneapolis.
Richard was incredible ; balancing on the monitors over the front on the stage. They opened with Dumb Waiters. Tim was like this
ominous spectre at the front of stage right, Hair completely covering his face. Vince Ely was back on drums. What a solid show.
Heaven stood out, as did Sister Europe, which was mezmerizing. The Bowie moves were out, just pure Richard Butler attitude.
Oh, yeah, he lit a cigarette for Sister Europe. You couldn't take your eyes of him. Who says the Eighties were all bad?
I really love this album. Nothing to throw away.
But sadly, the Furs never play it for a long while. But one or two songs. Very rare to find some live versions of these great songs.
Just makes you want to move! Warning must play loud....Love The Furs, My favorite Album!
Still have this album in CD ❤️❤️❤️ this band is huge, all their albums are sublime. No voice like Richard Butler
This album w TOTALLY overlooked it's brilliant.
My favourite PF song. Amazing album
I listen that song performer by good riddance ...AND was dont know they played x the furst ...Is a hit ..heaven too !!!!
Great song. Beginning reminds me of flock of seagulls
I was obsessed with this cd in the same week leading up to attending the first Lollapalooza. That's how fucking long it's been since they released an album.
You guys are magic. See you in Michigan in a few weeks. I'll be the loudest lady.
I can't pull in all the stops
But it rained on all of this
With the sirens in my sleep
And her sorrow at my kiss, I can't turn away
Hold the half turn when you pray
All the vanity and fate
Written on her crazy face. Here in my head I here you say
Here in my head I here you pray. Time is what it's made
Made by all those I regret
"remember me" I hear it said, Other faces I'd forget, Hope you get up off your feet; Shake the dust out of your shoes
City lights and all my jazz
And all my demonstrations too. Here in my head I here you say
Here in my head I here you pray. Time is what it's made
Made by others I regret
Remember we are here and sad
All the faces I'd forget. Here in my head I here you say
Here in my head I here you pray
Here in my head I here you say
Here in my head I here you pray
I hear "I came pulling all the stops, putting rain on all of this" I think he's singing about his role as a singer songwriter, his themes. To a fan maybe. To you and me : p
@@davids2254 Yes, that is the correct lyrics. But I actually felt the song to be about trying to start another relationship before you are completely done with a prior one.
I did not know this song and I confess that it is at the level of the known ones, if not above them.
Wonderful song! 💜💜💜
They just kept getting better and better. To bad the great things don't last.
E il mio preferito dell'album capolavoro
So nice to hear again
