What? Is she saying that there is no external processor? If so, does it sit under the scalp? I have seen pictures where the processor is placed in the chest wall. I wish these things would be spelled out a bit more. I am in Australia and have not heard of fully implantable CIs, would I have to come to the US for that?
Hi, I live in the UK and I haven't come across any NHS Trusts which offer Esteem which is a shame. I have sensorineural hearing loss which affects both ears and hearing aids just don't filter the sound as they should. Without my hearing aids I cannot hear fire alarms, the 'phone ringing bird song or consonants oh and I hate speaking on the 'phone! I have terrible eczema in my ears and dry skin with having to wear the SIEMENS IMPACT PRO DPS hearing aids every day! The itching and oozing drives me crazy!

I'm father of a 5 years old girl with bilateral atrecia and microtia. today my dougther is using BAHA bp110 soft band and she is doing well. the doctor told me that she is candidate for Carina implant when she turns 10 years old. for me it is very difficult to chose what is the best implant for my little dougther. would you please give me any recomendation. thanks a lot.

It would get inflamed,swollen and painful too. I'm researching types of hearing aids as it's effecting my Balance etc x

I don’t really understand this lady’s purpose to show her implants. If she wanted to inform people about this new technology, she should tell us more details such as: how effective they are, what I was the cost, how long the surgery took,… If she wanted to advertise for this, she should give more details of where to ask..to read or to look up… She can hear now but I don’t think she can think well
she is just covering the external processor with her hair, isn´t she? Why doesn´t she show what it looks like with the hair down. Perhaps somebody else could hold the camera meanwhile, so she could focus more on her speech and not repeat herself so much?
