Six years ago I was in the Gambia. I went to Serekunda to attend the friday prayer in the great mosque and after that we go to the market. It was very nice experience. I love the Gambia very much. Nice people, a lot of reggae music and five times a day you hear the adhan all over town. May Allah bless the Gambia and its inhabitants. Salaams from the Netherlands.
I am Reshad from Mauritius. Always wanted to see Gambia life style. I enjoyed watching the video. Would love to see more about Gambia. Thank you for making this beautiful video.

AsSalaamAlaikum Sis. Marie and Mam Binta. Your presentations fill my heart with the desire to return to the land of my people. Yes, many can say that they wish to live in the West but the West is not home. And it never will be. Please explain why there were complaints about filming. I understand the preference for privacy and how Europeans have intruded onto others . I wish to understand this. I have no intention on filming but would like to know. Please keep posting . May Allah continue to bless you, your family and loved ones.
Wa aleykum salam wr rahmatolah! I am sooo glad we are able to fill your heart with desire to return back home. And as you said - the west isn't home for us - we need to look to Africa! The filming was more of the people not wanting to be on camera lol ! That's the hard part of being in the market - you can't avoid filming the people. I usually don't include random people's faces because of their integrity. We will keep it up - you motivate us! May Allah bless you and your family too, thank you so much for watching
Yes, thank you! I have read about Serrakunda Market . Everyday I think of The Gambia and the wonderful Gambian people. In your presentation, I see the resemblance of my family here in the US. We are all one family, yes even with our challenges , we are one family. The future of the world is African , it’s just that simple but we must step up to that responsibility. Our children are our future and we must all take great care to protect them, help them and guide them on the right paths of life. So we sacrifice for our future and do so gladly. We can correct many of the world’s issues that face us with wisdom, patience, perseverance and dedication to uplifting all. One of many advantages that we have been blessed with is that we have seen the mistakes of many nations , near and far. From those mistakes we must learn and endeavor to avoid them . Study hard, build schools , create a future of peace and prosperity, serve others with humility and a love for humanity. Africa , the future of the world awaits you. AsSalaamAlaikum
The market used to be clean and organised now it's dirty. Traders no longer sweep after selling and they leave the newly built stalls inside the market and sell on the road side.
Dear Sis, Don’t say again that I feel sorry for the animals because if you think this then you are against the order of Allah who give us order to which animals are lawful to eat & that his mercy on human, For this we must show gratitude to him.
Hey there, I see your point. Doesn't mean I'm going against an order of Allah for simply feeling bad for another soul. It's another thing to say "don't eat meat" and attribute that to Islam since it is permissible for us to eat of these animals. I have nothing against that

Can you show us the supermarkets? When you don't want to shop locally, or don't want to buy in that market, where do people go?
Yes, there are various supermarkets to go to. Unfortunately, I never did a video on supermarkets (since I am currently back in Sweden)
Big tree 🌳

I go once every year! :D

I can't really testify to how it used to look like - but I do agree that it's dirty unfortunately. And people just seem to walk by!
