While building channel to server, I get an error : java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class io.grpc.netty.shaded.io.grpc.netty.NettyChannelBuilder. How can I solve this? Thanks.
Suppose we have say 50 micro services running. Will it be on the same machine or different? If it is on different machines how do we access the database? I'm new to gRPC.
There's a brief brief glimpse at 50m27s of a grpc message, open in wireshark, but the video does not drill into things like the HTTP2 headers or the protocol buffers. Most of the time is spent downloading tools & compiling examples.
@Stephane Maarek : are Clement Jean and Stephane Maarek the same guy? I noticed the person from this channels videos was also the person on the udemy videos for clement jean's udemy courses
The integration of gRPC can be time taking and lot of debugging at first, but once you get a hang of it, it works smoothly. So, in total, including ProtoBuf, it should take you less than 4 hours to get started.
Thanks for the intro. Very concise. I am tempted to purchase your course but I build my apps mainly in Scala/akka and I am not sure it is supported. Is this correct? Additionally, Akka is pretty fast by itself, especially if one uses Kryo serializers. What are the advantages of this architecture then? Thanks
@@StephaneMaarek I would like to purchase the gRPC course on Golang. But I'm a beginner in Golang, should I need to learn creating basic API before understanding the gRPC concept? Or is it understandable and doable?
I look at the thumbnail and I'm like, Why is Charles Leclerc giving a lecture on gRPC
I had zero idea of gRPC before watching this. After watching it, I feel like I have known gRPC a long time ago! :)
Great video!
Sold me! I now want to see his course!
The Google Protocol RPC(remote procedure call) library is a framework. Thanks for such a nice explanation.
Crisp and succinct tutorial, well done and thank you
@Stephane Maarek, coupon code for the course is not working, can you please provide a coupon code for the course. Thanks !
Indeed a clear and concise explanation. Cheers!
that's really helpful, hope there are more videos available soon!

Happy learning!
Excellent tutorial, now going to learn a bit about protocol buffers
Do we need pre requisite Java for this gRPC development
Very nice introduction to gRPC, i just heard it mentioned and wanted to know a little more about it.
Very good explanation
How can I implement pub/sub system for one to many communication in grpc
very good effort Stephen
I already purchased your course on Udemy.
While building channel to server, I get an error : java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class io.grpc.netty.shaded.io.grpc.netty.NettyChannelBuilder. How can I solve this? Thanks.
I just enrolled to the Udemy course "gRPC [Golang] Master Class: Build Modern API & Microservices". I'm very motivated to learning gPRC.
Good presentation
Thanks .. it was nice explanation 🙏
At 1:51 you talk about data model being json, xml or binary. Those are data formats, not data models.
Suppose we have say 50 micro services running. Will it be on the same machine or different? If it is on different machines how do we access the database? I'm new to gRPC.
Thank you sm I can grow my channel now. This helped a lot

That was a good explanation in a short period of time.

@Stephane Maarek I have the same question... I've noticed too
Amazing video!! Thanks a lot!!
Hi Stephane, can it replace the Kafka? What I can see that we may use this for the Pub/Sub as well!
What happens if my server function throws an exception ? Can i handle it the same way as in oop ?
Great introduction
Can you give an estimate for how long you think it'll take to learn until you're able to build an API using gRPC? In hours.

@@AbhishekPathak21 thanks so much dude. Really appreciate it

Yo Stephane, any chance you can do a gRPC course for Python?? Big ups on the courses really good material!
How easy is it to learn and implement gRPC than GraphQL? I am asking specifically for Golang.
Fairly easy! Check out the full course here: links.datacumulus.com/grpc-golang-coupon
Great introduction. What are you going to cover about gRPC next?
I already cover a lot in my gRPC course you can find on Udemy (link in the description). Happy learning!

can you add subtitles in your course, it will be great with people whose english skill is not well
Love the french accent
why Microservices need to agree upon Load balancing ?
I feel like you missed an obvious question: how is this different than RPC?
You didn't explain the advantages and disadvantages. Nice explanation of what gRPC is, though.
Docker is not part of CNCF
👍👍👍 thanks
How about creating a playlist? I don’t see which is the next video. Thumbs down for that because I have to move on to find another tutorial
