- This is the 17th episode of the Race to Dakar 2020: Africa Eco rally Race, Team Races to Places with Lyndon Poskitt Racing.
Finally, the last stage has arrived (sorry for delay, my TH-cam channel was hi-jacked): 300 km from St. Louis to the finish in Dakar, Senegal. The timed special stage is only a 22km on the beach for the traditional run home finishing at Lac Rose and will see the first and only mass start of the rally.
But the night before has seen some commotion in the bivouac, after the FIM confirmed one of the front running competitors has been using non FIM approved tires.
Joey is also still missing after having been evacuated by helicopter.
Everybody is hoping that by some miracle he can still make it to the start on the beach and have the whole team on the podium.
The media team also share a glimpse of what their days have been like on the rally, filming, editing, managing hardware and of course covering hundreds of kilometers each day also.

Lyndon I've been following you for some time now and usually don't like to comment, but this time I can't keep it in. You are a genuine inspiration to many of us here. Your positivity, no matter what happens, it's so inspiring! It's like therapy! You somehow manage to find a silver lining to the darkest clouds. To me, the fact that you and your team took us - many hundreds of thousands of viewers with you on this epic journey and honestly shared all the moments you experienced, both joyful and hard, inspiring and disappointing - is the greatest achievement that any rider has ever done. I congratulate you all from bottom of my heart! Thank you!
True Champion on and of His Bike :-) Stay The Course Sir Lyndon :-)
CHEATS who cry when they get caught are the worst kind of CHEATS ... awesome series, awesome riding, awesome teamwork ... get well soon Joey !
The Italian team should be disgraced about how they handled cheating, getting caught and scratching the number on your bike and drilling the tyre.
Lyndon your sportsmanship, cool head and honesty was superb. Inspired by your actions and reactions. Congratulations mate you deserve the win and all that comes from this incredible series. Loved watching every episode.
Ferrari did, Ducati did, must be Italian thing....
@@istra70 XD
It’s Italian they are the same in any sport… cheaters, arrogant and aggressive when they get trapped, it’s sad they don’t get it but yeah what can we do ✌️
Great to see Joey on his feet and back on the saddle.
The whole "Italian Affair" and retaliations are absolutely awful, what a bunch of asses.
Congratulations to the whole team for the result.
Thank you for bringing us with you once again.
Go #100!!!
@gafrers I am Italian and I can assure you there is no such thing as "Italian Affair", there are just people doing wrong stuff. It's like considering all German assholes because of what Hitler did in the past, or thinking French people are bad because of Macron and the current situation with Libya. Please stop generalizing.
I'm Italian and I'm afraid that someone which came from my place did orrible things!
We love the sport and his rules. The guy that drills the tire is an asshole.....
Not every Italian guy is horrible, please remember that....
@@pierfauno I'm Italian too. I said "Italian Affair" meaning what happened with the Italian rider/team. Not the whole country.
To the person who did this and I'm sure he's watching, not cool dude. Drilling your competition tire is low and cowardly.
only a total lowlife would do that.....
Not only this but cheating in general is just for low life scum....
I am surprised that organizers didn't check legality of the tires before the race - to avoid personal conflicts.
I checked the ranking of 2020, Lucci is in 4th place, this cheater seems very angry, lol.
Lyndon must have felt gutted with the other riders having a go at him on the start line. The dude cheated for an advantage ffs. Well done Lyndon for standing up to that rubbish.
Lyndon is such a nice fella you just know he was never going to raise an objection unless it was justified.
The last 22k’s Britain vs Italy left it all on the beach pinned wide open to settle the score the way racers should settle scores. And then a “rekkie” (SA’s most elite and crazy special task force) Joey Evans flexing his brass. Joey, you lit a fire in me brother! The world has a lot to learn from you.
Well done team Races to Places getting all the bikes to Dakar is damn near impossible but this dream team got the bikes there with shear passion, determination, grit, heavy brass and a little crazy ozzy juice.
Joey, you lit a fire in me brother! Here too !
C & W DirtVentures thanks for the support guys!👊🏻
What a great experience with an great team! Special honor to the great sportsman Joey!!! All the best for you all.
Your sportsmanship and professionalism has been above reproach, and on public display, for years and years. Loved the series, huge respect for all the work that went in to it. Keep doing what you're doing!
Excellent series i have watched all the series dakar , and all your races to places videos
i am a new biker passed last year at 52 years and your videos are really inspiring i went and bought an Africa twin love it wish i had done it sooner
Just stumbled across this series. Awesome. Father and son at the end = Perfect.
Super effort to get all the bikes to the finish. Top effort from the entire team what a bunch of legends. Nails aren't as hard as Joey, 🇦🇺 in the top 10, well done Matt. What an awesome effort from the media team to bring all to us dreamer's, awesome job Cheers👍
Forget the haters, they're not worth your time!
What a fantastic finale - Congratulations to Lyndon and the entire R2P crew on your completion of this race and the magnificent episodes you were able to share with the world!!!
My first comment on youtube. Thank you for this series. It was truly a refreshing concept on Motorsport and I am sure we will be seeing this type of coverage in premier class racing very soon. To Lyndon, Matt, Mike, Greg, Joey thank you for sharing your race with us it was great to watch. To Joey #therealsuperhero Evans , thank you for showing amazing courage and bravery, the likes I have only seen in war movies. Even though I followed the news and was eagerly awaiting this final episode, you have inspired me today and throughout the series. Lastly to the media crew, thank you for producing a masterpiece in web series. With a bit of luck and a whole heap of suffering for you art you managed to capture a story that if it had been imagined, it would not have been as amazing as the one that unfolded.
Thank you LHR
Well said!!
Matt's right, you guys smashed it, bikes, support, media and riders, what a great experience it was to watch it.
keep on being an honest man Lyndon. Sad to have others shit on you for being nothing more than an honest team. Sad if only for.a moment. Your entire ride, your entire team showed kindness and compassion to all others throughout the race, stopping for those in need without hesitation. RESPECT to you all and God's blessings.
To Lyndon and the whole team, a massive thank you for sharing your amazing experience. An incredible job in the toughest of conditions. Hats of to you Joey, wish you a swift recovery.
The Italian Team should be banned for years from rally-racing.
Lyndon, congratulations to you and the whole team. I enjoyed this series a lot and all your other videos to this date. Keep up the excellent work and have a save ride.
Damn right...hope ORGA does not except his entry next year.. !! sad though.. there are a couple of millions from this country with same attitude. Seen it in soooo many races!!
@@bjorn1034 Yes you are correct. It must be Italian thing Ferrari, Ducati ........even in trade we have allays been warn to be careful dealing with them.
I wonder how many Italians are in organisation of the race.....was that road book genuine mistake or a set up ???
How did this tires past scrutineering in the first place ???
Jesus lyndon was not hanging about down that beach top work to every one, thank you for bringing these episodes to us!! Great work team
This has been one of the best series I’ve ever watched, loved the coverage, loved the teamwork, loved the team, hated the cheating competitors! Keep it up Mate, looking forward to the next project 🤙🤙🤙🤙
To Lyndon and his entire team, thanks for bringing us along on this epic adventure! Hats off to all the support guys that worked their asses off to keep all five bikes and the support trucks going. You guys probably slept for a week when you got home. And especially, kudos to the video guys who brought this to us. I know what a mammoth task it was to shoot, edit and manage media and equipment through this whole deal. Phenomenal!! Can't wait for the next adventure from Lyndon and friends!
Congratulations Lyndon, Matt, Mike, Joey, and Greg. Particularly pleased to see Joey finish.
Well done Support Team and Media Crew. Excellent work.
Cool that Botturi forces Lyndon IN the family picture
Víctor Matheu Thank goodness there are a majority of good and true sportsmen in this best of all sports. Thank you Mr Botturi. And thanks to Lyndon for responding to his (quite physical!) request, it would not have been a true picture without you in it! Long live real sporting achievement! Les
Well Botturi came in afterwards in Italian media defending Lucci, along with another bunch of Italian riders.
And in the video Lucci literally said "I don't give a shit" to the explanation of Lyndon that his tires are not allowed in the race. The whole thing just looks really bad for Italian riders.
An emotional final episode, this is the epitome of team work. On the other side is the dishonesty, cheating, sabotage & anger that they were caught out. I am glad that their unsportsmanlike conduct is documented here for all to see, including them.
yes the Cheater have a Face to all of us now. Hope his Sponsoring go directly South now. Thats no Style
@@benediktwalthard3800 Low life .....is PAOLO LUCCI and his team.
SUCH A SAD ENDING TO WHAT HAS BEING A BRILLIANT RACE . Bad sportsmanship . Glad Joey could make the last stage and that all the team members could finish . Great job by the entire team .
That was the most insane footage of you ripping down the beach. Maybe the best footage I've seen from this the whole time as far as riding goes. You're a badass Lyndon poskitt.
The best bit for me was the overall fantastic team effort and included the updates from almost everyone. Shame about the trouble at the end but glad everyone is home safe ( especially Joey after the accident). Looking forward to the next adventure
I've had a ball following this. When I was young I dreamed of this kind of racing, but I was never a racer, and I dreamed of following this type of racing, but it was never on television. Now, in my middle age I stumble across this, and it's just fucking brilliant to follow it all, good and bad, it's sure an adventure for all involved and it's been great to watch for me. Thank you all for your work, in being a part of this and for putting it together.
Shane
Great to see all five on the podium! Must not forget the contribution of the media crew and mechanics, can only imagine the work you guys have put in to bring this footage and all bikes running 👍
Very emotional finish happy to see joey made it to the end for all 5 of you to cross together it shows what a great team you put in can't wait for what's to come
That was an emotional rollercoaster even being two years late! 🤣
100% did the right thing Calling the tyres - if you're going to do something you need to do it right.
And to see #104 finish was great. I rode #104 at Mablethorpe since about 2006 so I was so happy to see Joey make it.
Great stuff 👍👍
Well done to all the racing and support team for completing the Dakar 2020 despite all the setbacks and injuries ,it was really great coverage of the event to watch. its just a shame all sports seem to have a few competitors who think bending the rules is nothing to be ashamed of despite getting called out.
Lyndon the way they treated you is shameful. Thank you for bringing this race to us in such a detailed way. You guys rock and you abide by the rules - as it should be!!!!!
Congratulations Lyndon and Team R2P for a fantastic series of racing. So glad that Matt, Mike, Greg and Joey all finished with such determination. Your support crew deserves all the accolades they get. You all set a high bar for other teams and presentations.
Not easy situation but well done with the tires. Thank you for sharing and all the best.
Really...scratching the seal of the engine and drilling the tire for revenge... incredible.....
Happy you are fine Yoey. Congrats to all in the team.
Well worth the wait. What an amazing episode with a spectacular finish.
Has to be said: the media guys rock. The edits were out of this world, you used the 360cam for what it was good for (no stupid tiny planet shit) and you managed to capture the entire experience and present it to us as if we were there. Kudos, guys!
Daniel Mores Completely agree, thanks to the media men we get to share and to experience the downs as well as the ups. Wonderful stuff, and good going gents! Les
Hats of to Joey for completing, equally much praise to the mechanics and support team for the effort behind the scenes. Thank you LP for lots of inspiration and another great series! - not so sure what I think about the guys that sabotaged and tampered with other peoples bikes and equipment- Pas bien!
You guys rock!! Lyndon thank you for setting this up. Media boys... Great to see a day of dakar from your perspective! This series became awesome with true and honest personalities telling true stories!! To the whole team thank you very much. What an emotional moment at the end! Greetz
Thanks once again for letting me tag along on an amazing adventure!
I feel sad the last episode showed the cheats and ........ in the sport. I felt your frustration on the start line and with the sabotage on the pac ferme. You are a great role model and an inspiration. Awesome job team.
Congrats to all involved In preparing, riding and maintaining the bikes, filming the story and sponsoring team races to places! It’s was a great series to watch. Shame about the controversy at the end but good on you Lyndon for standing up for yourself and everyone in the race who did follow the regs.
Lyndon and gang...it was a pleasure seeing you guys as a team. Doing everything you could to make sure the entire team finishing the race was so awesome. The stewards made sure the appropriate penalty was placed for the rule infraction. Hope to see you racing again. Bravo.
Remember, Cheaters never win, Winners never cheat.
Top drawer performance from the entire Team, riders, mechs, support and media. Look forward to the next adventure!
That’s really not applicable to motor racing:)
Joey is Bad Ass for finishing in his condition !!!
Worth the wait. Well done the whole crew. Amazing job. Joey is a lion. He's got 9 lives. Read up on him. The man is an example to us all. Love
Wow that's some depressing bad sportsmanship to see, no one should be getting punished like that for standing up for the rules. Really puts a bit of an ironic twist to all those statements people online were making about the "fraternity and cameradry" of the race. Comrades don't drill out each other's tires or mess with their bikes. Cool heads clearly did not prevail. Glad you had a decent ending to it after that last night though
100% agree
Jonas Schwarz That sort only crow about such things when it works in their favour. As soon as rules go against them they cheat again. And again. Shame on them. They can never win with that attitude because they always take unfair advantage. I’m sure Italy is ashamed of them. Such a proud country, such a shame for Italy to have its name soiled in this way. Les
If I said everything about the organisation, the riders, the support team and media team was fantastic, it wouldn't be enough. Everything was more than fantastic, could not have been better. It was good to see all riders made it to Dakar regardless of pain and other difficulties. You are all heros.
It would be good to see the team race together again. And you Joey, if you read this, because you said in an inteview, that you would not be doing any more races. We need your smiley face mate 😀
Superb teamwork, guys! Well done all of you, and thanks for sharing these amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experiences 👍
So great to see you all made it to Dakar, especially Joey well done Ironman.
Anybody would have done the same if Lyndon had Mx tyres on.
Loved all the videos guys. Regards
This episode was well worth the wait. Thank you Lyndon and the rest of team Races to Places. There are a couple more episodes to come out of this adventure - how about showing some of the wind down and going back to the UK. How about something on how this all started particular Dakar adventure started, keep them rolling, I will keep watching.
What can you say..... another episode of life has been put down for posterity or is that Poskiterity 💪👍
When we are all old and looking back on memories, this fantastic team has been immortalised and will be forever young.
Thank you all for giving us the chance to share it with you....
Thank-you Lyndon for making it possible to enjoy this with you guys
If Joey doesn't want to keep his helmet you could auction it off. The proceeds would go to funding camel crossing signs in Senegal. I don't want to see anyone else get hurt.....way to go Super Joe!!!
Dave Joyce 😂😂
I'd bid for sure!!
@@hlrembe62 I`m in as well!
Let the bidding commence!!
You can savour the good times serenely. There are always bad players, unfortunately, you have to deal with them even if it hurts. You know that you have done well and made a great race. Thank you for this last video and all these beautiful pictures. It's so rare to have such beautiful views from inside a team during a race. Thanks again to the whole team, keep going.
Don't normally comment but just have to say thanks Lyndon and the team for delivering such an awesome series, one of the best we have ever watched, real and truly inspirational. Massive congrats on your podium, Joey's super-human effort... and the success of the whole team. What an adventure!
Congratulations to you and all of your team, this has to be the best vlog series ever shown on youtube. Can only imagine how difficult it must have been for riders, mechanics, media etc, many thanks to all of you for an absolutely brilliant show.❤️👍
Outstanding effort from all you guys, but Joey gets the biggest thumbs up, what a player!
Been a blast, Lyndon!....thanks for taking us all along on this amazing competition. Have said it before but I'll say it again, your media crew did an exceptional job of capturing the event and the triumphs and struggles that your team had along the way. Hope to see this fantastic team, riders and support crew, together again next year!
Congratulations to your team on an incredible achievement. Thanks for producing one of the best and entertaining motor sports series I have watched on any platform. Hats off to your media team, they clearly are very talented and dedicated. Well done to you Lyndon for keeping a cool head amongst the poor sportsmanship, it couldn’t have been easy. Can’t wait to follow your next adventure!!
Amazing series to watch! There were some true emotions in this episode! Such an amazing performance by the team. And wow Joey what a boss, not giving up so easily... mad respect.
Disappointed with the level of sportsmanship from some but really don’t want to dwell on it. This has been top drawer entertainment in all respects, congratulations and thanks to everyone involved.
Thanks for making us travel and race we you ! Big up to the media team and to all of you ! Hope to see more of this team of riders adventures around the world ;) Until then, enjoy some deserved rest and good luck to Joey for the hilling!
Thank you so much Team R2P! This was beyond awesome!!! Thank you for opening up something that most of us can only dream of. This series (and all of Lyndon’s previous work) really got me hooked to everything on two wheels in sand. I hope you can enjoy some time off now (or maybe write your book ;-) Cheers!
Lyndon, what a series! This would make a great movie there are so many twists and turns. Congratulations on putting together such an epic team, hitting the finish in super style and all the while...making a brilliant tv show!
Till next time Lyndon. Thank you and congrats on a great race and production. You guys did smash it for sure!
JOEY ! I was so happy to see you on the beach ! Congratulations !
There's nothing like riding on a beach !
It has been an absolute honor to see in this great success. The riders, mechanics and video team all made the best m/c story since On Any Sunday. Bravo and congratulations on your epic adventure.
I loved seeing Joey perservere. That was awesome! As for the starting line fiasco, what a bunch of tools..Cant stand a cheat. Congratulations on fulfilling a dream.
It so sad this epic journey had to end like this. You dream for years of reaching Dakar only to see the dream partly broken by dishonesty and people not having the guts to admit their fault. Congratulations, Lyndon and team. Epic.
That rip on the beach was awesome Lyndon! Good work!
This series was awesome...I've really been looking forward to every episode and haven't been disappointed by a single one... Thank you, Lyndon!
All bikes to the finish line, amazing pro crew
Fantastic job everyone. So good to watch. Many thanks.
Bad Sportmanship of the Italians...several times...Shourtcut/Tires/scratching off the Engine-Tag/Destroying Tires... and WHY they even bring illegal Tires to the Race ?; of course they knew they will use them. Not known ?...haha.. everybody on that Level knows ALL the Rules in Perfection.
R2P-Team: what a perfect Crew; proud to have pledged. And Lyndon: Sensational...as a Manager and as a Rider...miniumum 3 Thumbs up
Cheers to the whole team for making another awesome series. Great to see you all on the finish line with big smiles. It would be cool to see you all involved with R2P in future episodes. Hope our R2P friend in Japan is doing well after his surgery.
Fantastic adventure! Thanks for taking us along with the team. I 100% agree with your protest, rules are for everyone. The Italians really showed what kind of people they are. Dakar amazing you all made it to Dakar. Really enjoyed the series. Ironman Joey looks better now, cows or camel's nothing going to him. Congratulations to the whole team and your sponsors.
Please keep in mind that I agree with what you said about that specific Italian team, but I don't feel represented by them. Rules are meant to be respected, if that team didn't they have to be punished but you can't mark them as the whole Italy (that's what I understood).
I've been waiting and waiting to see this Episode!!! Lyndon you are a true racer and play fair all the way!!!
What low life thinks that drilling a Tyre and trying to take you engine number off because they used illegal tyre!!! What planet are they on!!! cheating is cheating and you only fool yourself!!!
What bad losers and it show them up for what they really are nobody.
To the person who gave this a thumbs down you are not wanted here no reason for that at all
Joey you are my hero!!!!!
What more can I say, this series was simply incredible, thank you for sharing it with us and allowing us into your world. I’m kinda sad it’s over. Well done once again to the entire team on a first class race and production, you guys just keep raising the bar 👍🏼 Joey you biscuit, you make Chuck Norris look like a chess player. Next level tough boet, respect 👊🏼
Well..........That was just AWESOME! Congratulations to each and every member of this team for a phenomenal job done to an epic level! A big THANK YOU to each end every one of you on Team R2P. This was a fantastic effort that truly showcased everyone's talents and commitment to success. Never give up and always stay positive.
Just brilliant, all of it, in every respect. Thank you to all involved. ✊
Hello Lyndon,
You put together the best team any racer would love to have. Congrats to all of you for crossing the finish line. See you soon somewhere...... Cheers
A wonderful series Lyndon, so professional and educational. Have loved every one. 👍🏻🏴👍🏻👊🏻
There is only one thing to do in such a disputed and complex situation: Make all information as transparent as possible and let everybody judge for themselves. You are doing the right thing, Lyndon!
You did the right thing with the protest, huge difference in deep sand with a MX tire vs DOT. I've watched days of video's now, still catching up on your adventures but you are awesome every which way! Thank you for the vids.
Can't say I would have keep my cool under those conditions. Well done! And Joey is a dam beast, refuse to stay down.
Lyndon! Yes we enjoyed so much watching this series! Amazing what you all did! I m going to participate in the africa eco race dec 2024! I hope one day i can meet you! Thank you for all you are doing 👊
Bloody brilliant Lyndon.
Have been waiting for this and boy was it worth the wait.
If the BBC put stuff like this on, nobody would be questioning the licence fee!!!
Superb vids of the race, the only problem was when they were over.
Great bunch of guys, you could see the chemistry was there.
Don’t let those cheating BAS**RDS take anything away from your achievement.
The cream always comes to the top!
Well done to the support team as well.
Can’t wait for next time.
Thanks....
Thanks so much for the last episode. Have been hanging out for it. Congratulations and thanks for the back story on the tire issue with Paolo. Has been fantastic coverage of your team and the event. Great result.
Well done and really grateful thanks to everyone; the mechs for keeping the team mobile, the riders for risking life and limb!, and particularly the media team for allowing us to enjoy this - such excitement.. A great job by all.
So sorry to see how cheats can’t take their licks when they’re found out, and just continue cheating and arguing. A bad state of affairs. Such a poor attitude. But all eclipsed by Joey’s smile. Well done one and all. Les
Excellent video series. Most importantly Congrats to you and your whole team!!!! So glad everyone made it to the finish line and did so without having to behave like some others did that last night.
Just watched the interview you did with Outlaw Sport Images. Don’t let the haters get you down down Lyndon. This race was not child’s play and you made a legitimate complaint regarding someone that was cheating. That’s why the rules are in place. You did the right thing. Don’t let the haters “rent” any space in your head. Move onto your next adventure and all the best to you.
A fantastic end to a great series, everything about this was superb, from the planning and preperation to the euphoria of the finish sandwiching a rollercoaster of events in between. Well done Lyndon, the team and everyone who helped to make this a success.
On a brighter note ..... WELL DONE GUYS ... FROM AUSTRALIA......
Congratulations to Lyndon and the team. You did it in style. Rules are there to make it a level field for everyone and those that get caught need to be called out. And the shenanigans that followed can be expected even if unwarranted. The true nature of the offending team was brought to light by thier unethical retaliations. But in the end the best man wins. Congratulations!
And the media was world class!
We want more!
CONGRATS! To Lyndon and Team R2P! Massive achievement!
You guys have absolutely set the bar for rally race media coverage and storytelling. This is groundbreaking stuff.
Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication! It has been a genuine pleasure.
I've been following your adventures for a long time now Lyndon and my heart goes out to you for the crap you've had to put up with in this race. Respect to you for doing the right thing! Well done to you and the whole team.
Can not wait to see this one tonight! Loved the series. Excellent job guys all around. A real team effort and for Lyndon for bringing it all together. Well done!!
When Honour is your creed you rise above! Congrats to you and the team Lyndon! Thankful Joey is Good! Till next time !
Love all you guys!
You should all go to Iceland and Japan, and film it.
Thanks for sharing your amazing team adventures.
Excellent race coverage by your media guys Lyndon something that the major teams ought to look at and follow.
I've enjoyed watching the whole series.
But most of all in my mind the rider of the race Joey Evans who's unselfish actions and attitude to helping others obviously cost him a few higher places.
Joey I salute you you are everything I'm not.
The whole team crossing the finish line was a first class achievement. I hope that you can all compete in another event.
