THIS. Met a good man, got pregnant at 18, gave birth at 19, got cheated on, him having hardly nothing to do with the baby, being hours away from friends and family, fell out of love but got guilted to stay for his happiness...
My mom had me at 17. This song hits in a different way. I feel like a mistake that should have never been made. My mom tells me I was wanted, but that choice came from ignorance and despair, not from love.
@@ruwaydaabdi6081 still struggling with that guy ....and now guilted back into a relationship with him. But I love my baby girl more than anything and make sure she never sees me sad.
The bridge gives me chills. My worst fear is probably pregnancy and forced childbirth, the thought of it genuinely keeps me up at night. Her repetition really emphasizes that impending doom feeling I’m filled with when I think of what must happen soon once the end-tail of pregnancy arrives. The idea of my body not being my own and then having it torn through-so many goosebumps.
I also have the same fear. Though I always think about my mother and my sister. All of the other women have gone through it and most of them ended in a pretty happy state. I always look up to them to not be afraid of it. since it's one of my dreams :D
I saw a comment before like this one & they suggested calling it "Lost & Found" !! Unfortunately I don't think Mel ever plans to release these old songs, but it's still a really fun idea 🥲
I think that'd be so cool! But I doubt Mel would do that since she's said that all of her leaked/unreleased songs were never meant to be online or really heard by anyone she didn't share them with. I think she also said at one point in an interview from the Crybaby era that Where Do Babies Come From probably won't ever get released cause she said she could write much better and that she doesn't believe it's good enough for an official release. Imo I disagree cause this shit is awesome but I also understand. I'm slowly working towards releasing an album some day (hopefully within the next century lol). And I'm a beginner when it comes to writing/producing music so if my music ever got leaked in the future I'd definitely feel the same way and think "why do they want me to release this? Like it's not bad but it's really not my best work"...but I'd also pay so much money to buy an official "unreleased" album from Melanie 💀😂
So what I take away from the song is that girl was sheltered her whole life and was insecure from an abusive household. Then she met her boyfriend and they have an abusive relationship. During make up sex the girl gets pregnant and the boyfriend leaves so she moves back in with her mom and dies in childbirth, just in time to see her abusive boyfriend one last time. (I assume she died because the lyrics “baby heading my way” also sounds like “ baby head in my way” ie. She hemorrhaged) Another reason why I think the girl dies at the end is the lyrics “it’s my mom’s greatest fear” in other words her daughter dying and the mom not being able to do anything about it. I’m also assuming that the mom wasn’t the abusive one because the mom is mentioned rubbing the girl’s feet and just generally caring for her daughter’s wellbeing.
“Girls who like to grow up too fast” I think this line just explains how Some girls make horrible mistakes which affect their life in the most terrible way, just because they fall in love with the wrong people. She decided to have sex with her boyfriend to fulfil his satisfaction, but she never thought about her future, her career, her health, or her life. And making the wrong decision, she eventually got pregnant, and since she was way too young (I suppose?) She died while giving birth to the child.
@@NotANewsiesReferenceI was also thinking that maybe the baby dad reveal could be the horrifying factor. Like maybe it’s someone the mom knows or someone that’s waaay too old to have been with her daughter in the first place 😢

Okay so, I've made a story in my mind about this song. At first it starts off as the teen mom, and she's pregnant and she's going through a lot of grief because the ex-boyfriend isn't there to help/support her. But when it gets to the chorus it switches perspectives to when the baby is born and is maybe a toddler or maybe a little older than a toddler asking "where do babies come from?". The mother responds in a toxic like way because she may think of the child as a mistake because she didn't want it in the first place. Therefore she responds with "they come from boys who want to sit on their ass", "they come from girls who like to grow up too fast" etc. Then at the end of the chorus it switches back to when the mother is a teenager, pregnant with the baby and she's mad because the father of her child left her and all she had left was her own mother. Then it switches back to the child's perspective asking "where do babies come from?". Then the chorus goes on and the mother responds in a toxic way. Then the mother remembers when the baby was about to be born. When her ex-boyfriend shows up for the baby's birth and the teenager's mom fears that with him there it will make her upset. Then it goes back to the chorus but it stays as the child's perspective. Repeating what the mother had said to it. Basically saying that babies always come from problematic relationships and then they become the problem. I know this is a little messy, but these were just my thoughts and how I interpreted the song.
With this being apart of unreleased crybaby I like to think this is crybaby’s mom telling her how babies are made cause she’s asking. Her mom is obviously drunk off her ass and dad is probably off sleeping with his secretary. Crybaby basically raising herself but obviously has questions asks her mom but her mom is so upset with her own life she has no regard for crybaby’s feelings so just tells her how she was made making her feel like a burden. This song actually fits in really well with the crybaby lore. Crybaby’s mom had her at 18 and her daddy left. Daddy eventually came back but he was never loyal.

Only thing I hate is how ppl nvr call out boys for being fast. Both men n women are sexually beings. Both hv wants, hormones and desires. Only one is taught to push it all away and the other is allowed and even encouraged to be overly indulgent (which is a bad thing). Sex at a young age is fast for both boys n girls n there are guys who also do this out of a problematic reason (peer pressure, being shamed for being a virgin, insecurity etc). Sadly, women suffer more (as they always do). Ig thats why im glad i grew up in the country I am in and am surrounded by the ppl I am. The boys Ik here arent fast and hold value to sex. As it shud be..

I also wanted a recommendation if you can make death by melanie martinez as well I only see the lyrics in spanish can't find the right audio besides one other youtuber who is spanish if you make it OMG THANK YOU but if not I still appreciate these beautiful backgrounds and wonderful music you let us hear!
This is the sad version of where babies come. If a child ever asks me where babies come from I'll tell them Heaven. Cuz it's where they truly come from. Sometimes evil ppl do evil things then a baby appears unexpectedly. But either way, they do come from Heaven.
heaven is a lie, even if it's a thing- no human ever has or will get there- we're no angels, but besides that- it's supposed to be where dead things go- babies aren't dead lmao, and there is no "evil" way to make a baby, it's literally just sex, they're made by our biological ways of survival as a species, the reason for that to happen doesn't mean shit to the baby lmao
I really don't check my favorite artists for new songs/albums so, imagine my shock when I read the title, and then I click thinking I was going to hear the first version of this song, but instead I find out that this is the official version now 😭 I was so shocked bye 💀💀💀
During an interview with The Knockturnal in August 2015, Melanie answered another question regarding the song: Interviewer: Is there anything you had to cut from the album? Like fans were wondering about "Where Do Babies Come From?" Melanie: Yeah I mean there are a lot of songs that I wrote for the album that got cut just because I can’t put 30 songs on the album. Hahah that would be amazing and I wish I could. Yeah I don’t know, I definitely want to eventually put out the songs I wrote for this album, maybe for another project if it fits but “Where Do Babies Come From?” is one that I was going to put as a bonus track on the album but then I kept writing and it just didn’t work out. Maybe in the future I can put it out for fans or something. I don’t know, we’ll see what happens there.
"They come from screaming, crying, no no no, they're an accident from so long ago" "they come from little girls, like yourself" I understand why these weren't included but when this was just a demo that's the part that always stuck with me the most
I headcanon this to be in the same universe as the old version. I imagine this version is the mother who is pregnant with her kid and I imagine the older one to be that kid years later asking her parents where babies come from.
I understand that I’ll never truly understand this fear, I listen to this when I think of my mother and father of how I am a product of an affair I think about how I never got to know my birth mother. She was 20 and my father was 40s with a family and told my mother to put me up for adoption or he would stop giving her assistance with money and etc
I recently discovered Melanie's music and im amazed and speechless. I would love to know more about her. Her album and song concepts, her story as a singer and things like that..cause wow. Also, since I'm new to her..what's this whole "movie" thing regarding her?
@_moonbaby_ Ohh..So the movie is connected to the album? I've seen that her albums do follow a certain storyline. Also, doesn't she also have T.V series? What's that about?
@@Audrey_7 Yes, the movies are connected to her albums to some extent. The K-12 movie was sort of a musical that played out all the songs she had on the album as for the PORTALS movie Melanie said she'll be more focused on the story rather than the songs. I never heard about a TV-series on her, though.
@_moonbaby_ Tysm for explaining! Perhaps I'm mistaken about the TV series. It was written on Google somewhere, so that's why I asked.. ty though still! ☺️
I can only imagen this when she says, "Where do babies come from, really?" That is the child version of the girl, then the part that says, " Boys who want to sit on their ass, they cone from girls who want to grow up too fast, they come from screaming frighting, make up sex, girls are insecure with nothing less" transitions to older/teenage her. I know its messy, but I hope you get it!
This is the original, the one you heard before was a fanmade version made from snippets because no one knew what the actual song was until it was fully leaked
I remember I was 8 and I learned that this is how babies were made so when people would talk about yk I would tell them s3x is not okay because I thought it was normal for me to know
My view of the song is that when the girl was little she asked her mom about where do babies come from and her mother tells her "They come from....etc"....this traumatises her so much that she never out grows her mother's words and she believes what her mother told her because she was not taught about love in a proper way, and later she ends up in an unhealthy/abusive relationship from being so insecure the fact the lyrics say "look at the mess i made.....look at the mess he made" i think she blames both herself and her boyfriend for the unplanned pregnancy....delivery day comes and i think the baby is born i don't want to think they child is a rainbow baby but i think her mother's words are a reflection and interpretation of what the mother went through herself and even her daughter thinks of herself that way....(idk lol this is still just my understanding of all of this or at least this song)
ik that mel prob doesn’t care, but i feel so guilty listening to unreleased songs but everyone on pinterest said it was good so i wanna listen to it😭 i still feel so guilty😭😭

Wow...this hit WAY to close to home...
Sobbing rn this song never fails to make me cry
I remember her first version of this and hearing this version feels different or awkward but I stilll like both versions
Thank God my babies come from prayer, love, desire, longing, tears and hope, regardless of the pain surrounding their pregnancy periods. Life is precious no matter how it arises.
I missed the line "they come from little girls like yourself" from the first one as that line hit the most with me as a teen. Since it shows how young the mother of the singer was when they had the singer telling the story.
I was never planning on having kids but this song just confirmed my feelings
This never got actually released which is sad because it’s such a good song
I know this is an old song, but I feel like it would fit perfectly with the next album (whenever that’ll come)!
Portal?
@@HHMOON honestly, modify the production a little and it just might.
Portal isn’t out yet, but from the little we’ve heard of it (and seeing as it’s basically about Crybaby’s rebirth), it just might fit!
March 31, 2023
This gives me heavy Lana Del Rey vibes for some reason.
Such a good song!!
Essa música é perfeita, ainda não aceito q a melanie não lançou

Damn I miss Melanie era so much 😭💔
What happened
@@Ilikeuhaveacupcake328 nothing really happen , I'm talking about her 2020 with "Girl from nowhere" edits era
@@oliveoilroaddrygo6696 aaaaaah okay
It would be cool when Mel makes her new album she is singing abt Maggie and in her album it can have where do babies come from and million man it would be so cool
ive loved this song for so long 😭 im literally BEGGING mel to release it atp 🛐🛐
Fr so sad she didn't release it
real i thought she was going too after she released a little snippet years ago
This one deserved an award!
I LOVE THIS SONG SM
I think this was actually one of the first songs I heard from Melanie, being in my Gacha phase it helped me find my future favorite artist
My Gacha phase literally helped me through such a dark time in my life, I don’t know where I would be right now without this song & Alec Benjamin’s unreleased songs. 🙏
BRO YOU KNOW HOW LONG I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS? ❤❤❤
You are a godsend for uploading these ♥️
WAIT I HAD NO IDEA SHE MADE A FULL VERSION OF THE DEMO TF
IKR I ALWAYS LISTENED TO THE COVER VERSION
2:20 this is the part that Melanie revealed in that 15 second clip 😊😊
omgg i remember when this wasnt a full song just a little snippet😭
All of Melanie Martinez's songs are bad ass sad she didn't release them herself but I thank this youtuber MOONBABY who took the time out of their days to make these video's for us to jam!
AWWWHHH YOU MAKE MY HEART MELT YOU'RE SO KIND
The fact this is an unofficial released song 😭 it's so good though
This is the sad version of where babies come. If a child ever asks me where babies come from I'll tell them Heaven. Cuz it's where they truly come from. Sometimes evil ppl do evil things then a baby appears unexpectedly. But either way, they do come from Heaven.
heaven is a lie, even if it's a thing- no human ever has or will get there- we're no angels, but besides that- it's supposed to be where dead things go- babies aren't dead lmao, and there is no "evil" way to make a baby, it's literally just sex, they're made by our biological ways of survival as a species, the reason for that to happen doesn't mean shit to the baby lmao
i agree
Facts ❤️
What if the kid has no clue what heaven is-
@@River-Styxx no one and nothing has a clue what heaven is lmao
This hit hard and the truth sent shivers all over my body. [Of course this isn't everybody but gosh.]
I really don't check my favorite artists for new songs/albums so, imagine my shock when I read the title, and then I click thinking I was going to hear the first version of this song, but instead I find out that this is the official version now 😭 I was so shocked bye 💀💀💀
During an interview with The Knockturnal in August 2015, Melanie answered another question regarding the song:
Interviewer: Is there anything you had to cut from the album? Like fans were wondering about "Where Do Babies Come From?"
Melanie: Yeah I mean there are a lot of songs that I wrote for the album that got cut just because I can’t put 30 songs on the album. I don’t know, we’ll see what happens there.
r/AreTheStraightsOkay but a bop
This song is such a pity that is unreleased but it's so coollll and if you understand the meaning more emotional
"They come from screaming, crying, no no no, they're an accident from so long ago" "they come from little girls, like yourself" I understand why these weren't included but when this was just a demo that's the part that always stuck with me the most
Wow, A heavy song would be more heavier If it had that part
this has the eeire version where if you're wearing noise-cancelling headphones you would think someone else is with you
I heard this song when i was still at elementary and i was just vibin and now i Understand what it means 😭
I headcanon this to be in the same universe as the old version. I imagine this version is the mother who is pregnant with her kid and I imagine the older one to be that kid years later asking her parents where babies come from.
If my child ever asks where do babies come from im showing them this
Well don't be THAT harsh for their first time 😭
Mommy :)
"Yes"
How baby's are made? :
They come from boys who want to sit on their a**
The fact that someone relates to this song makes me so sad. 😞 Sending love and care their way.❤
I'm so damn sad this song is unreleased, I just like it a lot and I feel SOOO guilty in listening to it but I can't stop.
Same but its too good 😭
I understand that I’ll never truly understand this fear, I listen to this when I think of my mother and father of how I am a product of an affair I think about how I never got to know my birth mother. She was 20 and my father was 40s with a family and told my mother to put me up for adoption or he would stop giving her assistance with money and etc
0:19 Looks like Lana del ray ngl
memories with this song.
THIS IS A BANGER 🔥🔥
I wish that she would release this song But ik why she didn’t and I respect her for that.
I recently discovered Melanie's music and im amazed and speechless. I would love to know more about her. Her album and song concepts, her story as a singer and things like that..cause wow. Also, since I'm new to her..what's this whole "movie" thing regarding her?
She has made a movie for her K-12 album and she will make one for her PORTALS era as well.
@@Audrey_7 no problem! So glad I could clear things up!
I love your music taste.
The best compliments ever😭😭 Thank you!!! 💗💗
@@_moonbaby_ anytime 🥺💗
Thanks, you too!
I think this would fit nicely with dead to me and bittersweet tragedy
I can only imagen this when she says, "Where do babies come from, really?" That is the child version of the girl, then the part that says, " Boys who want to sit on their ass, they cone from girls who want to grow up too fast, they come from screaming frighting, make up sex, girls are insecure with nothing less" transitions to older/teenage her.
I know its messy, but I hope you get it!
my mom had me at 18 and this is really my mom like no joke.
I LOVE THIS HOWWWW COME I NEVER HEARD ITTTTTT
this song is my biggest fear ever.
This is a total banger and sounds so dang good i could listen to this all day if I wanted too❤
melanie should’ve realeased this
I remember the original song, i never knew she made it though! This is a total Masterpiece!!
It's unrealsed
This is the original, the one you heard before was a fanmade version made from snippets because no one knew what the actual song was until it was fully leaked
This si the original lmao
I saw the title and was considered
Babies also sometimes come from the r word which is even more heartbreaking 😮😢
And some countries don’t allow abortion so if you have a rapist baby then you’ll have to put up with it and raise that child for 18 years.
i have screamed these lyrics ever since i was little- before i even hit puberty (hit it young at 8 or 9)
Sad that i can relate to this. (im 16 and pregnant).
I wish the best for you ❤
Aw I hope you well!!
Take care of yourself and of your baby❤
This is what I'm gonna tell my child if they ask where do babies come from😂
Fr same
Do the fan made one first because it's just a little more in depth because it's like an actual child asking the question
Its so dark but so good!!!❤
Fun fact: this is most likely a post to be in the crybaby album or replaced with dollhouse
It was supposed to be on the deluxe of crybaby
This song makes me both angry and sad but it's a good warning....
She ate this song down ngl
Womb, crybaby version (or Dollhouse ep)
Me at 18 listening to this remembering my sisters were what this sing described when they were my age 💀
when i was 7 my sister showed me this song and after 4 years i finally found the song
This song is soooo good!!!!😍😍
I remember I was 8 and I learned that this is how babies were made so when people would talk about yk I would tell them s3x is not okay because I thought it was normal for me to know
My view of the song is that when the girl was little she asked her mom about where do babies come from and her mother tells her "They come from....etc"....this traumatises her so much that she never out grows her mother's words and she believes what her mother told her because she was not taught about love in a proper way, and later she ends up in an unhealthy/abusive relationship from being so insecure the fact the lyrics say "look at the mess i made.....look at the mess he made" i think she blames both herself and her boyfriend for the unplanned pregnancy....delivery day comes and i think the baby is born i don't want to think they child is a rainbow baby but i think her mother's words are a reflection and interpretation of what the mother went through herself and even her daughter thinks of herself that way....(idk lol this is still just my understanding of all of this or at least this song)
ik that mel prob doesn’t care, but i feel so guilty listening to unreleased songs but everyone on pinterest said it was good so i wanna listen to it😭
i still feel so guilty😭😭
Mel was more pissed at people that leaked the portals songs before they were finished
From what I know, Melanie doesn’t care if we listen to her older unreleased songs
I’m not sure if their opinion on that changed or not tho
@@an_awkward_crybaby ohh ok ty for telling me :)
@@an_awkward_crybabyas far as i know, their opinion didn't changed, so that's okay:)
This is my parents, my mum had me at 18 but my dad stayed
MomTeens you are strong ❤
Growing up listening to this song to grow up and realize this how I was born
I really want her to drop this but it doesn’t fit her new style.
When I first heard this song I didn't even know this song came from Melanie until I searched it up again
I used to be in a relationship like this, and its scary to think that this could have been me if i continued the relationship.
i love this one so much more
Melanie, you will aways be famous
