Mr. Charlie Hararry clearly illustrates the battle each of us faces on a daily basis; the struggle to overcome the yetzer harah and allow the G- d focused yetzer toiv to prevail.
Happy to notice we're in the same choir then! :) Greetings from Holland. Next week my son and I are proudly in Israel to join the Sar-El experience for three weeks.
On the website of Aish I've read yesterday that in the Messianic era there will be no competition anymore. With the financial chrashes and economic crises many debates about wether or not capitalism is good have taken place and what starts to emerge is a new category of capitalism which is called social capitalism which seems to go that direction of less competition / more social values and without being coerced by government regulations.
"This is why our kingdom was lost and our Temple was destroyed and why we were brought to this; for our fathers sinned and are no more because they found many books dealing with these themes of the star gazers, these things being the root of idolatry, as we have made clear in Laws Concerning Idolatry. They erred and were drawn after them, imagining them to be glorious science and to be of great utility. They did not busy themselves with the art of war or with the conquest of lands, but imagined that those studies would help them. Therefore the prophets called them “fools and dolts” (Jer. 4:22). And truly fools they were, “for they walked after confused things that do not profit” (I Sam. 12:21 and Jer. 2:8). (RaMBaM, Epistle to the Sages of Marseilles, France)
The temple was destroyed because we could not agree on 1 thing: how to serve G-d. We fought over who has the best type of service. The protests last week against the Women of the Wall is a classic example of this negative behavior .
I like R. Harrari, but the widespread idea that baseless hatred (or "lack of unity") was the "only" or "main" reason given by the Sages for the destruction of the Temple is completely FALSE. See Bab. Talmud tr. Shabboth 119b: "Abaye said: Jerusalem was destroyed only because the Sabbath was desecrated therein... R. Abbahu said: Jerusalem was destroyed only because the reading of the shema’20 morning and evening was neglected [therein]... R. Hamnuna said: Jerusalem was destroyed only because they neglected [the education of] school children... ‘Ulla said: Jerusalem was destroyed only because they [its inhabitants] were not ashamed of each other... R. Isaac said: Jerusalem was destroyed only because the small and the great were made equal... R. Amram son of R. Simeon b. Abba said in R. Simeon b. Abba's name in R. Hanina's name: Jerusalem was destroyed only because they did not rebuke each other... Rab Judah said: Jerusalem was destroyed only because scholars were despised therein... Raba said: Jerusalem was destroyed only because men of faith33 ceased therein... Baseless hatred among us is a terrible thing, and this video is a powerful way of explaining the problem. However, we Bene Yisrael have much more to work on than that alone.
Ever se-ri-ous-ly thought about finding out if Yeshua (Ha Mashiach) really made His claims to be the truth or a lie? Forget about the 'stupid' christians/christianity. When Matthew 27:25 states:'Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children' it didn't mean 'Jews can be slaughtered'. But what a.o. 1 John 1:7b says: ... and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son CLEANSETH us from all sin. Focus therefore on His life, words and deeds as described in the New Testament
Love these videos

Hmm never thought of it that way.
