Whittman is more constant and reliable, Manstine is more of a wildcard, with bigger crits, but also with a larger range of damage. You gamble with Manstine, while Whittman is reliable, especially against fortifications.

I gave Wittman the Hero medal, it's strong. I put the Excellence medal on Simo Hayha because he always crits and has +1 range.

I find it quite unfair that those 'big hits' are counted, when both could one-shot artilery and infantry. Manstein might do 500 on those, but on tanks he performs quite similarly to Wittman.
just gonna say i bought wittman 1 hour before it changed and tbh it was very good i almost completed all the axis and allis challenge 3 star even on hard and the good thing about it was probably the ace tank
Now Manstein has a biography perk he is by far the best
From my experience, Whittman is when you want to curb stomp a swarm of Enemies, while Manstein is more of a heavy ambusher, able to zoom in towards a city or objective, obliterate whatever is on the point and then move on to the next one.

Get Gudarians king tiger to level 3 i have him on a level 3 king tiger with panzer elite, excellence medal, and cross medal, and he does like 179 base damage he can destroy bunkers in one hit i would like to see Gudarian vs Manstein
It so close that I feel there is no real good clean cut answer as to whose better.
Manstein was always big boss of wc4,athough he can sometimes can rng ed he is the best there is.Manstein and Guderian is a 1+1 deal,you cannot separate them.Great generals, truly like em.Wittman?Haven't heard of him tbh.Pls do arti generals next,Zhukov,Leeb,Konev and ofc, Williams.
