Thanks for all of your OC videos. They have been invaluable. What I’d love to see is a bit more depth on the DualTM app with basic patch examples so I am able to put it in a use case scenario. Thanks again!
Can anybody do a more in depth video of the OC for beginners. Having a tough time with this module and learning how to use it properly. Most videos have complex setups with a lot of modules for me at least don’t have.
One important clarification about Presets - you need to Store the Preset (in RAM) *before* doing the long-press EEPROM Save if you want it to persist. I need to provide better documentation for that...
this morning I was using two cv tracks from an SQ-1 to Chordnate, one for weight and the other for signal, and both outputs from Chordnate sent to the precision adder in Disting mk4. it was really fun. the way you can transpose and get different sequences on the fly.
I've been running Phaserville since his first release. It's really great. I wish the Ebb and LFO app had an option for phase offsets. I'd love to be able to set up a quadrature LFO by syncing two hemispheres of Ebb and LFO. He has mentioned in a video that he's attempting to port O_C to Teensy 4.0. From what I've read, it's not an easy task.
Looking forward to getting this installed, DualTM seems like a mix between a shift reg and the tb303 app with that portamento. Something I don't understand with the shift reg apps is how to set a scale though with a root note? Say I want A Lydian, how do I do this?
Great videos on O&C! I just installed my O&C. Weird thing is that I can't find some modes... I was very interested in the Annular Fusion but it is not in my hemisphere list... Also not Phazerville or Benispheres...Any tips on this ???
What firmware did you install? You need to install the Phazerville firmware from the linked github website to get all of those apps. Also Phazerville has a few different versions which add some apps and remove others to make them all fit in the available memory
Quick one on Dual TM, what are the output modes? Note, 1,2 or both, modulation, clock and Random? Would the clock be the best to send if I wanted to send a gate to say a vca or a strike input on a LPG? Again I thank you very much and love your videos
Hello dear SynthDad, I have a question before I buy the O_c. Is it possible to CV modulate the level of a LFO? I know it’s possible to CV modulate the frequency, so that’s FM. But is AM possible with the LFO in the O_c? Thank you very much for your support. Your SynthSon.
Ive just picked up o_c initially because I was looking for a quantiser and felt that quantermaine was as good an option as any. I've since fallen down the alternative firmware rabbit hole and finding the whole thing a bit overwhelming. So with Phazerville, you get all of the classic u_c apps plusna bunch of new ones with the dual app UI? What are the other apps you get with Phazerville as standard?
Yes with Phazerville it's all the standard apps (and you can choose which ones you want) and the dual-hemisphere applets. The list of apps are listed on the Phazerville website
Does anybody have a strange issue with Phazerwille that the ProbDiv does not trigger Rings on Strum input and doesn't trigger Paits on trigger input? It does trigger other modules. With Benisphere firmware it worked fine.
...found the trigger length and tried value 1-127 without luck. Went back to Hemisphere, triggers work instantly. While busy with Phazerville the two half screens got mixed up together at the same time, the right half showing both left and right at the same time ... Ooopsss !! 🤩
@@Klankspel That is really strange! I’ve never seen the screens get messed up like that and I’ve been using all of the firmwares. Which app were you using to generate the triggers in both cases? I can ask the devs about it
Heh. I’ve just had to send one of my uO_Cs back under warranty as I noticed (ten weeks after purchase!) that the left encoder wouldn’t ‘click’. So many firmwares, and just the one uO_C!
How does it work with new firmware, does it overwrite the older version and add to it do the older applets get taken into the newer versions, or is it a completely new firmware and the older applets are no longer in the newer firmware. I know you an always reinstall the old version, but I just want to know since I ama new to O_c. Can anyone tell me please. Because I really like the hemisphere version that I currentlly have now.
Hi - new firmware overwrites the old one, but you can always re-install the old one back over it with no issues. BUT the good news is Phazerville includes all of the best apps from the original firmware, plus Hemispheres. So now you don't have to choose; you get the best of everything!
I think I need a second uO_C just to run the alternate firmwares. In addition to the gems demonstrated here, I am particularly interested in the Calibr8or applet that I believe was added to Phazerville.
@@SynthDad I didn't mean input lag or latency, I mean the slew. Try to make clicky kick, or fast zap sound because I wasn't able. With any other EG it's easy, zero attack and fast decay/release.
@@bph9727 if use the Hemispheres AD applet and set the attack to 1ms and decay to taste does that not work? Also have you tried Piqued for envelopes? It’s a port of Mutable Peaks with extensive control over envelopes parameters. I did a video on it a few years back
@@bph9727I'll have to investigate this... I have felt underwhelmed by the AD applet at times. Curious to know if Piqued is more snappy? Or is the 16.6khz update just too slow?
@@SynthDad it sounds like it's slewed somehow - not reaching high point fast enough. I tried Piqued, it worked well at the time. I will check it again soon. This inability to use envelopes is preventing me from using HS, so I am using Quantermain exclusively.
Excellent introduction to my madness! Lol 😅 There's certainly a lot of details, hopefully folks will catch on! 😉
There’s so much more I could have covered here so maybe a Part 2 is needed!
Please do!! I'd love to learn as much as possible about it! Just installed it 5 mins ago haha.
I just got plum 1uo_c with phazer and i literally have figured out how to use pique so far lol

Nice one. Just got hold of a O_C again and this firmware looks like a good combination of OG firmware and Hemisphere.. Blessed are the coders!
Enjoy! So exciting to see how the original concept is being expanded and improved

So save in the preset menu first, followed by the long-press on right knob?
@@SynthDad Correct. They're just like any other setting in memory. There is only one EEPROM Save gesture.
Like my Disting EX - my two O&Cs are the gift that keeps on giving! Thanks for a precise video again!
Very welcome!
Man, your uO_c videos are really really helpful.
Thanks again!
Glad you like them!
Thanks -- nice video as usual! I've been content with the original firmware, but the dual turing machines are looking tasty!
thank you

This also puzzles me. Also, is it possible to set a note mask in DualTM? Have you tried the dualTM yet?
Hi, thanks for the video! is there a complete manual of each app of the Phazerville?
Yes that’s in the wiki page for it on the GitHub link. Also the Hemispheres manual applies for a lot of them

Yes the clock one is ideal. Adjust the trigger length in the master Phazerville configuration screen to get the right response from your LPG

Hi! Excellent vid as ever. I’ll be getting this firmware asap. Btw: what case are you using? I like the size and the Intellijel (?) row.

Yes, you can, but you need to use the GatedVCA applet in the other hemisphere to route the LFO into and then modulate that using your CV
Thanks, I'm now hooked on Phazerville. By the way, did you make your own case?
