I can tell the difference between an articulate white person vs an articulate Black person vs a Black person speaking cliche Becky lingo vs a white person speaking cliche Black lingo... just because you speak in a certain cadence, accentuate certain letters in a word w assonance, etc... doesn't mean you're speaking proper English vs not speaking proper English. It has more to do w the way you lean into sounds vs how you put together the words. One is an emulation of a sub-dialect, and the other is the formation of clear and distinct sounds in speech and the clarity in the production of successive words. Both articulation and sub-dialects can also be idiolects...which is a type of language that's spoken between close individuals- its not the same was one would speak in an interview or any type of professional setting, meanwhile, it can still be articulate.
