On Fords build and price website, the 2024 f150 XL regular cab short bed comes with the 5.0 Coyote as the only engine option and 3:73 locking differential! Freaking badass

Sorry, no disrespect, but as a blue collar worker with a 2013 F150, I can't see going forward how we will be able to afford these truck's? I've had nothing but Ford F-150's, Ford Taurus's, Ford Mustangs as we are a Ford family but if something doesn't change in the future because my paychecks are NOT keeping up with the cost of these new truck's, I may be having to make some very difficult decisions. 🤔
It's not the Ford company fault. It's the government fault for speaking money we don't have. If they keep spending money, we don't have we will become a 3rd world country 😊

Speaking on behalf of everyone in Australia when I say we wish the Ranger was built in America also. Would love an F150 but by the time theyre converted to RHD and landed down under the base model is over $115,000 🤦🏻♂️

Impressive. Not sure they will last as long as OBS's from back in the day - that's a lot of electronics. Can they put some of that in a Ranger at way lower price ?
I mean the top ranger is probably 30-40k cheaper than the model shown in the video.
Modern cars have a few thousand parts, modern jetliners have a few million parts, operate at -30 degrees Fahrenheit, have turbine engines spinning insanely fast, are subjected to intense abuse constantly, and despite all of that, they're some of the most reliable machines in the world, because they're properly maintained. All of which is to say complexity doesn't really factor into longevity, it's all about how you treat something and maintain it.
Most of the plane crashes caused by mechanical failures were brought on by insane neglect by the airlines, it's basically the same with car ownership.

Ford I’ll be real with you, the clientele of a platinum hybrid F-150 are going to be business people that will rarely ever do anything that would mess up their suit. The truck’s going to cost over 80k and almost all the luxury features that a navigator would have. The most a more hands on working guy would ever buy is a brand new lariat if not a used king ranch, but maybe I’m wrong.
Just sounds like you can’t afford that super nice truck you love but maybe I’m wrong.

True nobody who tows equipment for a living would get a hybrid, myself especially. But that doesn't mean someone who does that stuff wouldn't want a nice truck. If your truck is what you spend a lot of your day in, you want it to be comfortable.

@@808smycarbreaks_9 I completely agree that a truck is a truck. It should be available with a long bed, regular cab, an AM/FM radio and basic interior that you can wash out with no carpet. I mean now even the BASE model has a huge 12" screen, that's ridiculous for a BASE truck. But, now that's the new norm, which means we aren't going to "downgrade" and go back to what a base truck should be lol

I was hoping for a more innovation dash and infotainment set up to be honest.
That was completely redone in 2021, and it has been well received. You won’t see a major revision until the 15th generation in 2027. This is just a mid cycle refresh of the 14th generation

First off let me say that I am a lifelong die hard fan and owner of Ford vehicles. Ford has lost touch with the average middle working class.
The Midwest farmer doesn't need a $100,000 truck. We need a reliable work truck that is strong and built to last. Not a street cruiser/ date night truck. This goes for the F150 and F250.

I think a lot of the features shown were options. They sell the base trims / fleet vehicles as well that are pretty stripped compared to this.

Some of the features are carryovers, some are new and very innovative. Love them. Wish they would of upped the horsepower on the engines., but this is just a mid cycle refresh..

I saw a commercial like this . Bought eco boost in 18. Motor died at 67k turbos died at 72k . Drank oil like an alcoholic. Bad pcv, oil solenoids rattling , oil consumption,
I dodged a bullet on the 18's because of the insulting amount offered for my low mileage trade. Still driving my '13
Why can't I configure an Powerboost with tow mirrors? Why can't I configure a supercrew 6.5' bed with blackout package? Is the configurator just broken or are these really not options? If so, I'm supremely disappointed. I'd like a '24 to replace my '21 when my lease is up, but I want to build it like I did my current truck. (Lariat Sport, supercrew, 6.5' bed, tow mirrors, powerboost with 7.5k generator). I use my truck for towing my enclosed trailer and even built/wired the trailer around these features that just aren't available in the '24? Give me back the ability to configure a truck the way I need it - you're actually making my life more difficult. My $0.02.

ford should build a new 4 cylinder diesel engine that is built to be just robust enough to handle stock output levels as manufactured, the con rods are just strong enough to handle factory power levels,if any more power is added they blow out and the head bolts can be special material and design so if the turbo is cranked up it blows the head gasket in like 500 miles..it is literally made to be just strong enough to perform well if left alone and driven normally but no reserve robustness for power adding...also they can design the transmission and rear axles and suspension to be just strong enough to handle factory ratings and if too much trailer or weight is added it will blow out the rear suspension the axles and trans at like 10 percent over factory rating..the wheel studs can be made of a special material and design so that larger wheel and tires cannot be added or wheel studs break...and also the driveshaft can be made of a special material and design for safety to act as a "fuse" where if 5 percent or greater over factory rating is added then the driveshaft pops and a new driveshaft is needed..which must be purchased from the factory...the dealers will probably be selling a ton of new driveshafts🤣the 3/4 ton handles up to 3/4 ton...the 1 ton up to one ton but no more 3 tons of fun from a one ton truck..everything is specially designed to break and blow if tampered with abused or overloaded...if you tamper with the truck it tampers with you
No dual exhaust on the Platinum 702A High package....that REALLY SUCKS, come on Ford you would have aced it if you didn't cheap out and just put a "Dark Chrome" tip on the single side pipe. I just signed up for a $110,000.00 Canadian truck and was told I'd have to take a lesser trim to get dual exhaust. Please tell me I'm wrong and it comes with dual.
