When you get 2 pair: jacks or better and a lower pair. Dump the lower pair. Reason: if you keep the 2 pair, you can only get 2 pair or a full house.
If you dump the lower pair, you can get Jacks or better, 2 pair, 4 of a kind, 3 of a kind, full house. I like those odds better.
I feel what you're saying completely.. but I think when playing that much money, you've got to take the Guaranteed money
Many moons ago John Grochowski addressed this exact scenario in a Chicago newspaper. The correct play for 9/6 BPD is to hold the two pair (over jacks or better) and go for the full house. EV 8.40425 vs. EV 7.65525. In this particular game at the $25 demon this error would cost you $18.73 each time this hand is played incorrectly. This hand is quite common, so over the course of a session the loss of expected value will be substantial.

On the games that pay the same for Jacks or or better and Two pair (like this one), I never hold the two pair. I think it’s better to play for the 4 of a kind.

Since 2 pair and jack or better pay out the same i would keep the two cards that are jack or better over keeping the 4 cards that are two low and two high. Example kk 88. Then go for the 4 of kind with the 2 high cards

Why are you talking about hitting a $10,00 quad and then immediately playing two pairs incorrectly? This isn’t bonus poker where you get 10 for 2 pair. So why would you ever hold JJ-AA with another pair?

I say it does. I have accessed to 8/5/35 BP, which has a much lower variance and a slighter higher ER to boot.

Seems dumb to hold a 2 pair when 1 pair is J or better. In that case I can’t imagine it being the right play. For instance AKA22. Hold the A A and go for the 4 of a kind. You don’t make any more or less when holding the AA22 unless the king comes back as an A or 2. So might as well go for it.

You need to take some lessons from Slotmassacre. You need to stop going for those inside straight draws.
Are you kidding me? Matt is a much better player, than the so-called Slotmassacre. Andrew makes way too many errors. He will tell you his errors do not result in a loss of EV. 9/6 BPD the correct play is to draw those four card inside straights, unlike 9/6 Job or 8/5 BP.

Going for a full house on this game is a bad strategy if you flop two pair and one pair is J or better. You are better off holding the J or better and going for the four of a kind every time. Since J or better and two pair pay the same
10's are part of the royal flush, if there's no face cards I will hold a 10 and have hit the royal that way

Why do you draw to a pair instead of a jack or higher single. Your odds are much higher. Video poker is about staying afloat until you hit a 4 of a kind or royal. Nice guy and a good showman. Prefer when you play regular slots.

You need to learn more basic strategy. On Jacks and Better you do not hold inside straights, only 4 to a open ended straight (generally speaking).
