    This is some GREAT work..I love your tutorials.... But I have to admit, this image is almost sad... I see it and get the impression of a mother and daughter walking towards heaven together...Then I start thinking... “so sad, what happened to them both to be leaving this earth so young” But when a piece invokes thoughts and feelings from your work...it is a great win for you as an artist....

      @@BethanyAcorn for me what’s most useful is seeing what tools to use to achieve certain effects, for example the clouds on the dock and adding shadows to them. What might make it even better is saying what you are trying to achieve before you begin? Anyway, a beautiful melancholy image!!

    Wow thats class! Im just starting out with affinity and editing in general and thought i was the master when i used the clone icon to erase an object and played around with brightness and stuff, but this... This is next level. Wow!
    Im blown away at the amout of suble changes and your eye for detail. I got about half way through and was like, Boom thats perfect! Looked at the time bar and was only half way.
    Can i ask though, where were the people stored whilst you worked on the background and how did you bring them back in so easily? Cheers

    At 5:12 I start to get confused. When you Introduce the "Dock pic. Looks like the camera skipped few frames...possibly Idk?
    At 5:12 there is quite a bit of adjustments made to the first 2 layers . Not sure what you did to the "Dock layer.. @ 5:12 in the video?
    Is something attached to the Dock layer? Idk?
    Either way. Thanks for taking your time to make tutorials!

    • @BethanyAcorn
      @BethanyAcorn  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that looked a bit confusing sorry! So I had the clouds layer with the adjustments attached (exposure, brightness/ contrast etc) and when I brought in the dock photo layer, it landed right in the middle of all those adjustments so I had to drag that dock layer to the top of the layers so it wouldn’t be effected by the adjustments. And the thing attached to the dock layer was a mask layer which I used to crop into the dock layer. Does that make sense?

    Thanks for the vid. Anybody think AP will work on a 7th gen ipad 10.2"?

    • @BethanyAcorn
      @BethanyAcorn  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, it will work ok, but as the it has the A10 chip, which is less powerful than the A12 in the iPad Pro 10.5 that I used first, it might slowdown with a lot of layers being used, or very large files, it just depends what you want it to do.
      Also the screen isn’t laminated, which gives a slight airgap to the screen, which might annoy you if you use an Apple Pencil.

      You can buy touch-pens for £5, so long as the tip is small, even that can work!

    The mask layer doesn’t seem to work for it doesn’t make the image transparent it just darkens the area I’m brushing ... what am I doing wring

    • @BethanyAcorn
      @BethanyAcorn  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could you have accidentally clicked on a different layer, just make sure you’re on the mask layer when you’re brushing as that should work

    I've been trying to get the clouds and the dock images together and just work on them without including the girls, but I can't even manage that. I've tried everything to get them two images together but I've found it impossible. Think I'm just going to give up on this Affinity Photo software, it is just far far too complicated for me. I'm just too slow to learn this kind of stuff, I've finally admitted defeat. The first video I watched of yours was so easy to follow, this one is impossible, I've unsubscribed.
