Thank you! 🙏 I already had planned one on tamane but then I learnt there’s another (better) technique. So now I’m practising before I get it on (virtual) tape. 😁
Hi my name is Dat. I just got my first ever shakuhachi less than a week, very very new at this. Question: what is ksk music? Also, I live in Southern California, wonder if you know any good shakuhachi teacher that I can learn from. Thanks.
Great! Welcome to the shakuhachi world! 🙂 KSK was founded by Yokoyama Katsuya. There’s some info here: kskeurope.wordpress.com/ksk-materials/ or you can also watch my interview with Kakizakai sensei: th-cam.com/video/qohiea6yzSc/w-d-xo.html I’m not familiar with the scene in California, unfortunately, but you could have a look at Tai Hei Shakuhachi, maybe there’s some info there.
Thanks Markus for your quick reply, I will look hard for a teacher. I'm blind so I have to have proper training in the beginning so that I won't make a wrong start. I've played the chinese xiao but shakuhachi is its own world.
@@datguitar361 My pleasure. Yes, shakuhachi works a bit differently. I think it's a good idea for everybody to get a teacher at the start. As you indicate, it's more difficult to let go of bad habits than to learn a new one. As for most Japanese activities your chances to find somebody are much better California than pretty much anywhere else; just asking around a bit should get you to the information you need quickly. Or if you're looking for online instruction, the world is your oyster really. Good luck, and let me know how you're getting on!
@@MarkusGuhe Hi Markus. Do you know of the shakuhachi maker named Hikichi Yozan? That is the gentleman that built my shakuhachi. If you do, please tell me how you like his product. I got the 1.8. Thanks so much.
Great tutorial! Will you do one also for Tamane / Tabane? I am equally bad in both! 😁

@@datguitar361 I've heard of him, but never tried one of his flutes. They seem to be of good quality from what I've heard though.
