Saint Sebastian is considered as the patron saint against epidemic diseases, and also for the athletes. A long long time ago the ruling emperor of Rome- Diocletian hated the Christians, and he ordered the Christians to leave Rome if they don’t start worshipping Roman idols. The hatred against the Christians was spreading like an epidemic. Like Saint George, Saint Sebastian too acted as a protector of the faith. Sebastian was born in Narbonne, in Southern France in 256 AD. He then came to Milan for completing his studies. He eventually joined the army in AD 283, so that he could protect the Christians from the persecution.
