The giraffe was spot on (pun intended). The round disc with the white background was "Calico Cat". This brings up an idea that occurred to me while watching this video. Using ink stamps to put a more controlled design in the resin. Start by pouring in a shallow base as you did here and cure or very nearly cure from the bottom. Mix a small amount of resin on the side, also as you did here. Color the new mix as desired and spread thin. Then use an ink stamp (perhaps a paw print?) to pick up the new resin and place the pattern on the prepared base. Cure the design before it has time to spread and then apply a top coat. I don't know if my instructions are as clear as I intended. But it's something I think I will try as soon as I get time. Right after I fix the tractor, finish putting my table saw back together, organize my shop so I can get my sewing and craft area cleaned out of things that don't belong there, bath the dogs and horses, and some other stuff... Wish me luck.
The one you refer to as "fried egg" makes me think of avocados! 🥑 What a fun experiment! Thanks for sharing this with us, Steve! I learn something new with every video! One of these days I hope to be a member!
Just got my JDiction resin kit in. I was not prepared for how adorable the UV lamp is!! I can’t wait to get started. A friend and I are starting a resin craft business
@@beirney82 sadly slow. We both got hit with massive health issues. i'm looking at surgery and she's trying to recover from her recent round of the blahs.
Why not use paint pens? After laying the foundation of resin, paint the design and then cover with clear resin. You can also print on transparent paper like sheets and lay them on the foundation and then cover with resin.
I just wanted to thank you for making these videos. They have helped me out a lot with resin and even inspired me to start my own TH-cam channel about my small resin business! Making things and crafts fairs etc. If it wasn't for you and your videos I would not be so into resin as I am now. Thank you so much for doing what you!
@Steve McDonald Arts and Crafts aww thank you!🥰 I'm so excited, I can't work in a normal job, so this is a dream for me! Turning my passion into a job🎉💜
What an amazing idea and technique for UV..... I'll have to add it to my calendar for a few tries.... I'm so glad you shared it with us. Stay safe, you do you, stay safe and stay crafty 🔔🛎️👍👍🦋🦋
Tfs but I see the jdiction uv resin bows when its cured for you as well. It also had major shrinkage for me as well. I have now switched to, let's resin uv brand and it is extremely perfect, no matter how strong of a lamp you use.
Steve, check out enchroma glasses for colorblind folks. There are tons of videos on TH-cam of colorblind people getting them and using them for the first time.
I think you should try to make them two-sided . First colors then in the middle dark color and then again color designs. It will be a little thicker, fuller nicer . Good luck.
I would not have thought about the light coming in from the windows ect. I love the giraffe 🦒 print. The black looks like marble. I would try doing zebra stripes.
I just recently found your channel. I'm enjoying watching you work. I am also a visually impaired Crafter. I work in several different mediums. I have been looking for more of us on TH-cam. Are there very many? My area is not resin, I am just playing with it. I have been thinking about starting a channel and showing how I work. I don't know.
@steve Mcdonald arts and crafts, How hard do the UV pieces cure? Are they rock solid hard or rubbery and flexible where you can press your nail into them?
I can never get uv resin to cure at all if I put any kind of pigment in it. Am I just not letting it sit under the light long enough? I'm definitely not doing something right 😮
Howdy Steve, I don't think I've ever seen a fried egg critter, you might wanna check that one out. LoL Sounds a bit like Dr. Suesse to me❣️ Steve, do you have a ribbon mold ¿ The type of ribbon for Breast Cancer Awareness ¿
Wow!! Even colorblind! Beautiful job! Thanks for sharing. I will be launching my own channel and building it around creating Beautiful handmade jewelry pieces from resin and natural stones and crystals. Stop by and see me when I get started! 😊 You're doing wonderful by the way. I hope to be as successful in this venture as you have been. Keep up the excellent work! 👏
I could be wrong and please correct me if I am, but isn’t it dangerous for your eyes to look directly into a UV light? My retina doctor yells at me all the time for not wearing sunglasses outdoors to protect my eyes from UV 😂
Hello , can i say your videos are useful , but the coffee scroll is pointless as you cannot see any of the names at the speed they go up and the font size is to small. If you really want to say thanks to the viewer let us see the names its more respectful. Do like the videos its the scrolling of names you cant make out is ridiculous
The one reminded me of avocado instead of fried egg. And I absolutely loved the black and white and the giraffe print. ❤
Hi Steve. Can you "paint" mica on the bottom of a silicone mold then add black uv resin on top?

Very nice techniques! I will definitely try this out with some different and funky colors. Thank you Steve 😊!!!

When we do uv resin in the molds, generally do the designs on the mold then do other layers. They come out amazing
Very cool effects Steve. I did a leopard print using the rain drop effect. It really worked.
The giraffe came out great ❤ that. What an awesome idea. The circular ones look pretty darn spiffy too. ❤
Fried eggs are my spirit animal 😂
I use a mirror and sit the mold on it ! Works great
"I don't think there's any fried egg animals out there" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol
They look gorgeous! Fried egg’s hilarious 😂
I love the first clear flame one.
Love the giraffe, nailed it!

The one you said you were a little disappointed in that was suppose to look like fried eggs looks exactly like avocados to me and just as cute. 💚🥑
I love the giraffe pattern
Was wondering how to clean the resin containers when we were done with the projects. Now l use leftover fast food lids! Thank you!
I like the giraffe one
Another great demo, thanks Steve 👍🏻 x
Thank you for sharing
I loved the round and oval ones. The other ones i liked before you did the last colors. Thanks for the lesson
That is so awesome, I can’t wait to try this out myself ❤
The fried eggs made me think of sliced avocado lol. Thank you Steve loved the uv fun😊
Very very good 👍 😊😊

These r cute 😊
Steve, with UV resin do you have to worry about the colors fading over time? Love this idea
That one you say looks like fried eggs, reminded me of avocados. Maybe you can advertise it as that, because I still thought it was cute!
Cool!
How long does Jdiction UV Resin take to cure with the small lamp that they sell ???
Thankyou xxx ❤
Do you have a source for the necklace and clasp used in this video. Here in the US
I noticed that your rectangular pieces curved after curing. Mine do, too. Any thought on that?
@steve Mcdonald arts and crafts, How hard do the UV pieces cure? Are they rock solid hard or rubbery and flexible where you can press your nail into them?
That one looks like avocados 🥑 thanks for sharing another great video, Steve, a few I liked alot . Hugs from Québec Canada 🇨🇦 🤗 🫂
I thought avocados too!

LOL, I have watched many Animal planet documentaries and I must say, I don't think the "Fried Egg" animal has been discovered yet either.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hlo sir,
Pls give buy link of these tiny micro brushes.
Unfortunately I won't be trying this as I work outside in the heat and sunshine of southern Spain lol
It's fun playing with resin in this heat 40C today
Avocado!

Plenty of fried egg animals out there - search for "fried egg nudibranch"
I just bought jdiction uv resin but every time it dips in middle and curls on edges. And filing doesn't help either 🥲
@Steve McDonald Arts and Crafts thank you very much ❤️
