Great program! Jack's observations remind me of Malcolm Gladwell's great storytelling perspectives. Thanks Preston for your own perspectives and approach to the space.

Comparing Ethereum or any decentralization blockchain app to bitcoin is like comparing oil to gold. They serve different purposes. ETH is not a store of value but neither is oil. Jeff and Preston are focused only on the monetary aspect of blockchain that bitcoin is the sole solution. But, ETH or another blockchain application can solve other problems of "trusted third parties". Otherwise, a great discussion.

Jeff’s so correct (for me) on his thesis. Nurial Rubini might disagree with you, in that this MMT can go on for a very long time. (decades?)

“I know it will crash, I just can’t tell you when” seems to be fitting for the fall of fiat

If Bitcoin is truly going to be a currency in the future, why wouldn’t I just hold the stocks of companies that produce things that are in demand? Wouldn’t they be able to exchange their goods for dollars or Bitcoin or whatever the future has coming as the store of wealth?

Because money is the trading vehicle everyone needs. Therefore, best keep your purchasing power in a hard money that can't be debased. Stocks, on the other hand, represent companies. Can you predict which will do well in the future? That's a lottery most people don't want to gamble on, so they buy the whole haystack and create an incredible passive investment index bubble

    Thanks Pal ->
BTC, why big tech companies so slow to get on to BTC. I would think MSFT AMZN or GOOG will be able to do this. What about FB why they have so much hurdle for Libra? I don’t understand this

Liquidity and access to funds. They want to re-assure there is no issue buying/selling as they will want stable pricing

What the other commenter said and also regulatory requirements. Do you imagine talking to yr board of directors and telling them you are about to spend 10 billions to buy Bitcoin and it doesn't have clear regulations by the government yet ?? It will sounds pretty silly. Specifically for a public company

Amazing to hear someone in 2020 having to pander to people that don't accept the overwhelming and concerning evidence about anthropogenic climate change.

The idea that people won’t accept money printing because it’s cheating seems unlikely.
People will accept cheating if it benefits them even if it hurts most others.

      Your American right ?
American never really experienced inflation in the last 40years ...
Why a country like China would accept to exchanges its goods for bitcoins that it’s only value is derived from fiat currencies ?
That is the big hole no one sees ...
That is why Russia and China bought huge amount of gold , the end of the US$ as a reserve is coming and if China and others won’t accept US$ in the future, they certainly won’t accept bitcoins or any other digital currency that only represents devalued currencies .
They will accept only tangible assets, money (gold) or commodities (oil) .
Imho , bitcoin is exactly like CDOs from « the big short movie » .
If bitcoin survive from US$ debasement it’s probably because the world will split in 2 between the west (US) and the east (China) .
Si like a casino token , bitcoin will survive in the west part of the world ( like a casino token can only be used in the casino it got its currency for it )
Nothing wrong to play the bubble tho :)...

crony cap. capitalism is the only way for individual freedom. Crony and monopolies are the only negatives sides. but proper and minimal regulation can make that negatable
