This is making the last few pages of Ivan Law's book make a lot more sense. Thanks very much for showing this to us all.

Fascinating series of videos thank you. This is a terrific demonstration of the dying art of the old school toolmakers skill. Subscribed immediately and I’m looking forward to the next instalment.

I have been looking forward to seeing this video. It seems more simple that I imagined. Great stuff

Thanks...this first video is just luring you in...the next is a bit more challenging...4 jaw chuck to make 2 eccentrics and then fitting the 3 large bores just made...and then when all the parts are made...timing the clicks and cutting is a fairly steep learning curve...all gud fun...stay tuned...bob

Dear Robert, first off this is an amazing series. Watched 4-5 times already. Redoing a few pieces of my eureka based on your series. What is the wire size of your brass wire wheel (or is it just labeled fine)? Do you remember where you purchased it? Thank you, all the best.

Thanks guys...die filer more for the build side of things...repairs not so much...looked for one for years...walked by what I thought was a rusty old scroll saw at an auction...when the auctioneer called it a die filer I managed to win it and I wasn't even sure what I got...but got it home and was pleasantly surprised...bob

@@robertt-cs8fe Usually a thumbs up but this time I must right back hoping this is ok with you I never address you in your comments but will now call you Bob now, learning here, always wanting to go with Robert.
A quick story about passing up something thinking too long like you just bought it this die filer, you own it you use it instead of wondering I should have could have stuff.
We did this once and even if it were today my last nickel I would pull the trigger is was a pair of display wicker wrapped bicycles done by a designer, both yours for 300.00 the man said the display was being removed and f the store could do as they please so we asked he the manager said 300.00 dollars we thought about it walked around the mall for about 15 more minutes had to have them, went back they a were gone Bob, NEVER AGAIN NEVER. Thank you for allowing us to share with you. Lance for Lance and Patrick.

I love the video!!! I am, if the Lord is willing going to make one of these Eureka Tools. I am making a cutter to cut a gear for my Toolmaster Cincinnati Mill 1959 model, on my lathe. The gear has 16 teeth and is 2.50 Diameter and that comes out to a 6.4 pitch. This gear has a 270H075 timing belt. I think I done that right. Could not find a cutter for the gear so I turned down a piece of oil hardened steel to .375 and put a 20 Deg. cut on the cutting end, then slotted that end. On the other end of the cutter while I got it set up in the mill, I will slot the other end for a set screw and I will be Harding it soon. I gave you a thumbs up and Subscribe to your channel. Goin on to your next video!!
