That said, I think I've purchased more palettes after seeing her work with them than any other. I often end up doing a version of her looks....but in a more neutral gradient! lol Love this channel - keep doing what you're doing, Annette!
You know Annette loves colorful eyeshadow when she accidentally slips up and calls pastel colors 'neutrals' . Also, when I originally say the Douce palette years ago I thought the color story was really offputting, but the longer I looked at it and as my makeup preferences changed with time I finally bought the palette and its probably my favorite colorstory in my collection. Its so soft and delicate but still fun. I wish JP would release more curated color stories like this, but I've been feeling really let down by their recent releases as well
Agree with the letdown. The mini monochromes weren’t bad, but the Walhalla, as beautiful as the colors are, don’t have any kind of scheme. It’s random. And the glitters put me off. 🤷♀️
Omg yes. At first I just didn’t understand the color story. But then I got it and played with it and it’s one of my favorite and oddly cohesive color stories. I also LOVE the Nomad palette. And I never hear anyone talk about that one over the Tribe

@@iozen5755, if you like the Subculture colorstory, the Revolution "Reloaded Iconic Division" palette is the same colorstory (just perhaps more user-friendly). It is something like $7-8 at Ulta or on Revolution Beauty website, so very affordable. I've also heard that Subculture could be found at some TJ Maxx stores, so if you have one near you, it might be worth a peek. 😉

My most unique color story is the Kat Von D Saint and Sinner palette. When I first got it I was not great at anything other that neutrals, oranges and purples. But then I dusted it off last September and ended up using it for almost 2 weeks every single day. And not one look was the same and I was so proud of myself 🙄

I have the Festival, too. I just ordered it a month ago, because the collector in me was crying. It’s so beautiful! I’ve been using my Escape Pod more than any others lately. I just love how bright it is. The whole collection is worth buying. I have yet to dip into my Hasina 2, though I have that one, too. So many choices, and I only have two eyes. But the sparkles get me. Every. Time.

I love the Festival palette!! I did the pink as transition, the orange as all over, the red to deepen, and the then blue to line or as my shimmer shade. It's one of my favourite looks - very Cali/Malibu vibe :D. It's one of my favourite Juvia's Place palettes. (I didn't put the look up, but you can see what I mean on my IG, @highcontrasthughes)

I agree with you about the last 2 palettes from JP : I use them together some times! Spectral: Smokey pastel with silver glitter can top any look , electro turquoise: the only tealy palette I gave & I suddenly loved it because you can so dark and grungey or you can go light & springy, Muerte by melt : is the grungiest dream ever ! I know that’s not English but oh well 😂 you know what I mean also I still wish the had the shimmery red instead of that crumbley champagne tho!! Douce by JP : I hate pink 🌝 but guess what, I kinda love this one although I don’t use it enough but always challenging to come up with a new look , festival by JP : I feel I’m the opposite of you because I want more light shimmers with it !! The Hasina 2 palette actually inspired my very first purchase of single shadows -- a Colourpop BYOP! 💚💜💚 I really wanted to get the Blush Tribe, but it was out of my price range once you include the shipping, but... The greens & purples alongside eachother were so breathtaking! I don't often use green AND purple in the same look, though. Hasina 2 sparked my love of colour again, then Muerte sealed the fucking deal -- it sparked my first purchase from Devinah!! The realization that I prefer buying a couple singles to emulate a pre-made palette also inspired me to buy a couple empty palettes from Devinah, so I can create custom colour stories of my own. _"Duping the Vibes"_ a la Hannah Louise Poston! 😍
I loved blush tribe, i only found them because of the Malika palette, I never was able to buy anything with my name already on I always had to have hand made things 🤣
Really nice idea for a video! While I was watching it, I've been thinking about different colour stories and one of my favourites is the "Summer in St.Tropez" from BH Cosmetics. It looked like they threw some random shades in a palette, but it is so versatile that I take it everywhere :) There is only one shade that is not really pigmented, and I would have changed it for a deep brown, but still...15/16 shades working is not bad haha. And the buttery shimmers...touch them if you find it at the drugstore!
I have the Hasina 2 pallet. I was lucky enough to snag it on their going-out-of-business sale. The Muerte and Totally Botany palettes are both on my very short wishlist. 😍

I think subculture’s subpar formula did it in. I think we were intrigued by the story. I love my subculture palette.

Ace beautè paradise falling ( the purple one) such a smoky purple heaven 👌🏾🌝💜✨ I know that collection doesn’t have the best reviews but I like the colors, Enchanted by sigma; the most springtime pinks ( I hate pink as said ) with dark & sultry olive greens & duo chromes !! , the flare by Ace is also a pretty one since they combined blue-greens , oranges & berry mouvey tones ( kinda rainbowy) !! I got the Kaleidos palette yesterday, and nooooooooo that green is my favorite on the palette , I´m glad they leaved it :3 love Kaleidos shimmers
The Hasina 2 palette actually inspired my very first purchase of single shadows -- a Colourpop BYOP! 💚💜💚
I really wanted to get the Blush Tribe, but it was out of my price range once you include the shipping, but... The greens & purples alongside eachother were so breathtaking! I don't often use green AND purple in the same look, though.
Hasina 2 sparked my love of colour again, then Muerte sealed the fucking deal -- it sparked my first purchase from Devinah!!
The realization that I prefer buying a couple singles to emulate a pre-made palette also inspired me to buy a couple empty palettes from Devinah, so I can create custom colour stories of my own.

Really nice idea for a video! While I was watching it, I've been thinking about different colour stories and one of my favourites is the "Summer in St.Tropez" from BH Cosmetics. It looked like they threw some random shades in a palette, but it is so versatile that I take it everywhere :) There is only one shade that is not really pigmented, and I would have changed it for a deep brown, but still...15/16 shades working is not bad haha. And the buttery shimmers...touch them if you find it at the drugstore!
