personally, i liked to organized my Barbie clothes into Barbie and Ken then separate them into colors because i loved to redress my dolls in one to two colors outfit (like what you did with Kelly). my dolls never kept their original outfit because my main attraction to Barbie is to redress them in the way i liked. i gave my dolls name, and a little backstory, so i always try to visualize a specific outfits that fit their names and stories whenever i get new dolls.
Many of the Kelly items you have are originals from the mid 90's that is the time i started my adult phase of Barbie lol and things were really quite a high price more than a new fashion pack of today. Doll items were made with more quality as wel,l but I think it's nice that some of these items [brand new] now are quite afforadable, and thrifted even better real gems from the past!
The long red cape with ermine trim is from the 1976? Miss America Barbie. It's in very good condition for its age! I have one of those too, and I love the nostalgic quality of it ❤
So fun!! At 24:22, that goes to Kelly's friend, All Grown Up Lil Flyer Marisa doll. I knew it immediately because I sold that doll a few months ago...lol. The doll is sooo adorable!! She had a cute little flight attendant hat and bag.
the starry leotard and leg warmers at 3:39 are from Barbie All Stars from 1989. The hot pink top and bottom at 4:59 are from Working Out Barbie 1996. Hope it helps :)
@@ispybarbie also: the red overalls at 10:08 and the little jacket at 12:16 are part of the same kelly fashion avenue set. The little flowery skirt at 12:44 is also part of another kelly fashion avenue set (it was pink and flowery themed) the little denim dress with the little pink rose on the front at 10:20 is from kelly in the "barbie and kelly strollin' fun" set ❤❤
The one beach barbie outfit i need, you find it! 😂😂😂😂! Tropical Splash Teresa's top/bottoms are so hard to find, around here anyways! I also still need Kiras bathing suit top and my 90s beach barbies are complete!
The pink Kelly size pjs do go with that pink and white blanket. I had that set. It was a Kelly bedtime set. Came with a Kelly doll (as Caucasian or AA) in those pjs, a crib with that blanket, and other clothes/accessories. I still have the crib.
I have a big suitcase and all my outfits are in gallon sized zipper bags. Barbie and Ken have their own suitcase, Kelly and Tommy have a small closet. I do not keep shoes or other accessories with the clothes unless it is a very rare outfit. I will be posting videos soon of a closet I will be making, you have inspired me😊
@@lepeicious Whatever works! 😊💕 It might be different for everyone depending on their collection and what they do with it. It’s interesting to learn everyone’s techniques.
If this helps at all, some of the clothes you had gotten were Strawberry Shortcake! The strawberry shirt and those pants you said look like gum for sure are Strawberry Shortcake from the early 2000s, I think there may be more but I’m not a huge expert on those dolls but a few of the ones you couldn’t fit on Kelly/Tommy or the Bratz probably are!
Long organizing story longer lol :original outfits of boxed dolls that I debox get their own clear bag with everything they came with, redressing [like a looks doll] I may use only 1 orginal piece say shoes but a new outfit, redressing the doll. When i redress 2nd time that same doll sans original shoes i know where to re-store the original shoes. All other items are stored, bagged , bundled, as skirts tops pants shorts swimsuits pjs, shoes etc and separated for doll era /size. I mainly collect Barbie so the bulk is Barbie and Ken clothes all eras I have 2 large bins that the bundles go in for Barbie ken and the other for smaller Skipper Kelly Rainbow high, Monster high, Licca etc.been playing w/mainly Mattel over 50 yrs not a huge collector but mainly enjoy the modern MTM's and Repros form 60's 70's. You get such great stuff at your thrift stores clothes dolls you are a great treasure hunter love it!!!
You have a whole system down! 😲 I love it. So so fun. 😊 Sounds like a really great collection. I think I’d like to sort my item type (i.e. tops, skirts, pants, jackets, etc.), as I think I will find it easier for restyling and p it ting together outfit. 💖💖💖 Thanks so much for sharing and for watching my video!
Organizing by era could be the main way then organizing the eras by style and color. May take awhile but if you’re the type that is relaxed by organization then it would be nice
You found some real gems ❤ Great finds at great prices 😊 I haven’t started organizing my clothing collection yet, but I’m really interested in the way MyFroggyStuff has her collection in binders to fit on a shelf easily, as well as how TooHunkyToys(OneSixthThrift) puts his collection into clear shoe box type storage containers according to color and type 😁 I might adopt one of those techniques 🤔 Hope you find some type of storage that you like and ultimately have lots of fun playing with them ✨💖✨ And I don’t know enough about Discord to make any suggestions on that, but I do love a good 🍌
That sounds so interesting. I’ll have to check out their methods! (I LOVE MyFroggyStuff!) I started putting similar clothes together flat in plastic baggies to make it easy to flip through. I did this for my childhood collection, but it’s a lot of work (+plastic) for a long term solution. I think what I’ll end up doing is separate everything by clothing type for loose items (tops together, jackets together), and then keep outfits I want to stay together (like matching sets) in the baggies. 🤔 I’d love to go Live on TH-cam one day as I make all this happen, but that might be a little bananas. 🤪🍌
@@ispybarbie that’s a great idea to put the pieces together so you don’t lose any sets or the accessories that go with them 😊 but I agree that going live might be a bit bananas 🥴🍌 it’s a lot to take on and pay attention to when you haven’t done it before, but it’s definitely possible 😉 others have already done it alone before they got moderators to help them, and I’m sure you can too 😁 All in all , I support whatever you do through this, just like everyone else. You’re doing awesome ✨💖✨
The furry cape looks like it is from the lion doll from The Wizard of Oz. I don't have a huge clothes collection but I store mine by outfit in ziplocks even though I still mix and match.
I do that too! At least for my childhood clothes. But I have way too many now and I don’t think it’s the best method for me long term. Even though they’re way easier to look through that way! 😅💕 Thanks for watching!
The red cape with the spotted fur trim and the 2gold arm bands brought back a flood of memories from childhood playing with other 🤔maybe older kids stuff like early 80’s but maybe it was something from the 70’s? Weird? I don’t know but it was So familiar 🧐
They are much more durable than regular card holders. Not cheap, but I prefer them. I started with smaller ones and switched to A4 size die & stamp storage. There are multiple size folders available. 1-4 pockets. The cover folder is 10.5” x 12.5”.
You don’t love Ken?!!! Arrrrrgh, I would GLADLY take your Ken clothes, in a huge Ken fan in the UK and we never get little bags with fashions like you get in the US. Lovely video! I’m a regular here :) love from England
