The best rule i have set to myself is that I never talk about my job or even think about my job when the 8-hour is done. I just get into my car and drive home and do things I like. Even if my friends ask about my job like, how it is and stuff I just say "I don't care, I don't wanna talk about that". Ofcourse sometimes I say things, obviously but, in general I just forget it when I am out. This really saved me. I know I cant live just in weekends. But I know that if I think that I hate my job or things I dislike at it or people I don't like there even when I am not at it, is just wrong.

I can’t leave my job rn because I have too many bills (I live beyond my means) and I have people (kids) who depend on me. I don’t like my job because it’s very repetitive and people can be mean and rude. I feel guilty because the company I work for is good to me and pays very well. I even get to work from home. But it is not fulfilling. I am however taking the necessary steps to start a side gig. My plan is to hopefully make a transition from my current job to working full time on my side hustle within the next 12 to 18 months. Wish me luck.
I know exactly how that feels.. down to the letter. I haven't reached the goal myself yet. But at least there's a certain freedom to having a passion for something, when your job is no longer fulfilling. Best wishes - best wishes! :)
I understand. I have been there. I would suggest you to find a job where you might get paid a bit less but would get more time to explore your passion and convert it into full time soon.
I wouldn’t say I hate my job but that’s far from what I liked to do. What keeps me there is, obviously, the fact that money is good and much needed and 2nd, my boss is a source of knowledge, inspiration and strength that is literally teaching me how to survive in this world full of competition. I’m not good at plenty of things but I’m the best at what I can do and that’s also what keeps me there.
Workers should be allowed to quit and collect unemployment if they’ve done 2 full years at a company, especially if that company hasn’t been giving them cost of living raises at minimum on a yearly basis.
I hate every job. And am also now fed up with drinking all the time since it doesnt do much anymore. I dont think theres any way for me to live a good or happy life. So maybe Ill just stick to drinking even though it doesnt make me happy, at least it makes me a little less dead inside.
Oh man I wish I knew how to word it like you when I had this conversation earlier. When my friend said to me "you had a lot of bad bosses earlier in your life" and with my self tough English I paused a little bit and yes but looking back now that benefited more in the long run. I mean I didn't go to college or anything but working for bad bosses forced me to be a thirsty learner seeking knowledge that will help get me out of my situation Everytime and being able to speak read and write English as my second language without taking any classes or corses was one of these benefits
I'm a huge fan on yours. Irony is I got to know you by one of my colleagues in my job. And since then I really love how you take things differently, how you interpret things in such a way which anyone might not ever think of.
If you hate your job, create curiosity about the things you are working on. We often hate things we don't know much about. Try learning about it and you would begin to love and explore it better.
I tried to change my mindset, but I had one problem I couldn’t solve is that I had no one to share, because there are only two of us in the team and he is my boss... I don’t know what to do...
I just hate customer service and that seems to be the only thing available since I didn’t get a degree specializing in something. People and the way they treat service make the job horrible in every company
As a member of the largest organization that nobody wants to be a part of, - AA;) I can say with absolute certainty you have nailed the solution! Love your insight
Great advice BUT not to be negative is easier once you make it to look to the past and be positive about it but when you are going through it is not that pretty
How can I walk into work happy? What is there to look forward to? I shouldn’t have to think about work and think “Oh damn I have to go into work today.” It ruins my day and I just want a reason to enjoy it even tho I hate what I do
Learning constantly every second of 8 hrs is mentally draining. When i get home, first thing i do is sleep because i am soooo tired and literally no more energy.
I really liked my last job, but I was impacted by a layoff. Now I'm trying to find another job and it's so difficult because I'm having trouble with my resume and getting past application tracking software because I don't have a Bachelor's Degree and I don't want to go into debt for one. Any suggestions? I respect your feedback.
sometimes we feel boredom in this extra fast changing world, so same with is our JOB, we get bored we want something new, now, 70 of 100 wont even try it because they are there for some reasons 25 out of 30 quit the job, join the new job and after some time they feel bored there as well now this 5 people I think can actually take up the job they love and not only love, but they would love that work for the lifetime, so what is the exact way to find a JOB which you LOVE Permanent ?
We must all understand that there is no such thing as paradise job. In order to survive is to adapt in every work situation and learn to build on how to swim better in shit. Waking every morning and feeling miserable that you are going to a bad job or boss will only make you sick. Life is full of this shit even if you are your own boss.
Create curiosity about the things you are working on. We often hate things we don't know much about. Try learning about it and you would begin to love and explore it better.
No literally the only option is to leave it life is short Simon you have to take care of business and get to work your opinions are cool and philosophical and I like that you have a bunch of books behind you but listen quit your job start making more money and get more freedom that’s the thing people that’s all you need to know

If my job consists of a whole restaurant run by family besides me and a few others, where the others are mistreated and bias is shown, should I quit? I mean, a majority if not all of them never close the store and the others are given schedules to close every time and it's bullshit. I feel like these toxic jobs are what make me want to stop but I need money. I think fast food isn't the right job for me.
Sorry but that's kind of a load of BS. Yes, attitude and mindset are important but if you're in a bad/toxic work environment, please plan to quit. Get an emergency fund going, apply for another job and once you have it, quit, professionally (although nobody will know if you think while looking at them and handing them your resignation letter that they are a bunch of ass$$oles...).That's going to be your revenge on them. Your sanity and health is worth it.
I believe it's a great strategy your old boss was using. Maybe she didn't mean what she said, but she told you anyway to make you want to become even better? That's how I like to think of it.

After 20 years of crap jobs, I am so thankful to have a job that I love these days. A bad day at work is better than a good day in my old job.

goodluck you can do it👌
I understand. I have been there. I would suggest you to find a job where you might get paid a bit less but would get more time to explore your passion and convert it into full time soon.
First step would be to stop living beyond your means, aye?
I know that void within. Jus train ur brain to be in stealth mode unless it's sleeping. All the budding entrepreneurs and dreamers are with you!

I kinda like that title of the book in the background which says "Start with Coffee". I feel an urge to read it.
if I love my job, I love what I do, but I don't like the people in my place. what should I do?
Keep the job and look for better while staying there. Don't quit. People are almost the same everywhere!
Quit
First of all thank you Simon...and i cannot imagine people not reading or listening to you.

@@someonesomeone25I hate every job too, maybe looking into ways to make good money without having to work would be beneficial
@@angelicaloma7747 Yeah, I've done that. It's all work.

I love your positive attitude Simon!
What a valuable piece of advice! Thank you! I am your fan!
He is.
This advice is more for people who hate their bosses not their jobs
This is good advice. Learning from the worst will always help you to be the best.
So how do you deal the colleagues who are attention seekers, manipulative, underhanded and power hungry??🤔
The key is finding your why and monetizing it! In the progress, you will have to compromise with jobs you may not like! It's a journey!
Yes! Absolutely
Exactly brotherhood!
Great advice BUT not to be negative is easier once you make it to look to the past and be positive about it but when you are going through it is not that pretty
