This song kept playing in my head so I had to play it. I love and appreciate the original version because it depicts that sound of music in the 80’s. Very nostalgic. But Avant and KeKe’s remake hits so hard! Them strings and the way they sing them verses are so defined! Gives me chills every time I hear that intro.
Keke Wyatt was 16 years old when she recorded this song and 18 years old when they released it. I love the fact they noticed her talent so young and I respect the fact that they waited until she was an adult to do the video and put out the concept of first love. I wish Case would have used someone else for his happily ever after video instead of Beyonce or waited until she was 18 instead of 17. Then we'd still be able to watch the music video today, because it's gone due to her B being 17.
