I watched this show on doordarshan in india. After more than 30 years i still have the same feeling and love for the show. Its a masterpiece, hats of to Naseeruddin, Gulzar Saab and Jagjeet Singh, Neena Gupta amazing too.
And the woman singing the playback is Hindu too Chitra Singh. Indians have a very deep and cultured understanding of Urdu, Islamic culture and haya and Ada isn’t the ownership of Muslim women it can belong to any decent human being.

Pahle Sanjiv Kumar ko role offer kiya gaya tha but unhe dates ki problem aa rahi thi. So as per Nasiruddin Shah He wrote a letter to Gulzar requesting for this role. Gulzar asked some other Actors but no film actor was interested to work in a Serial. 1 saal baad Gulzar ne Naseeruddin ko bulawa bhej diya. Its Director who is responsible for extracting the best of an Actor and refining his performance not the Actor himself.

एक नाम, " संजीव कुमार " , ही ज़हन में आ सकता है ।
Pahle Sanjiv Kumar ko role offer kiya gaya tha but unhe dates ki problem aa rahi thi.
So as per Nasiruddin Shah He wrote a letter to Gulzar requesting for this role. Gulzar asked some other Actors but no film actor was interested to work in a Serial. 1 saal baad Gulzar ne Naseeruddin ko bulawa bhej diya.

One can discard the whole series. These 2.50 minutes are the life of everything. Perhaps I am too deep, or others are too shallow. This is the kind of love & longing many may not understand today. I will leave it here, because I am tired..
