    This is best video I ever seen to clearly explain 3 air tanks with a colorful picture ! Thank you! So easy to understand

    Man this is top notch information here! My tanks all seem to drain equally regardless of which tank is drained first. They have not always done this. I'm fixing to go out and run some tests.
    The new Bendix AD-IS dryer Model 801266 like I have has the check valves in the dryer and not in the tanks which was a bit confusing for me while trying to sort out the issue of all my tanks draining no matter which single tank I drained.
    My system is suppose to charge the primary tank to 104 psi first then fills the Secondary tank to 104 and then both on to 130 PSI.
    2 months ago my tanks started filling at the same time.
    It turns out the DC-4 double check valve was stuck in the middle causing all my tanks to drain equally and fill equally together not allowing any tank protection.
    To diagnose the double check valve between the secondary and primary tank I drained the tanks and unhooked the DC-4 Dbl check valve from the Secondary tank. This allowed me to see that air was passing strait through the check valve and filling the secondary tank which it should not be doing. Also no air came into the secondary tank until the primary reached 105 psi.
    The Bendix AD-IS dryer has 2 supply ports! One feeds air first to the wet tank which feeds the primary tank and port 2 supplies air to the secondary tank.
    I took the DC-4 dbl check apart and found the sliding valve stuck in the middle. I cleaned it, reinstalled it and now its all working correctly.

    Is the wet tank considered the main tank?

    • @fleetgroupinc6545
      @fleetgroupinc6545  ปีที่แล้ว

      There really is no main tank in the air system. Each tank has a specific function. If I had to rate the tanks in importance, I would say the Primary tank would be the most important, then the secondary and then wet tank.

    What is the valve that was circled called?

    • @fleetgroupinc6545
      @fleetgroupinc6545  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is called a “two-way check valve,” it allows the air source applying the higher pressure to shift a shuttle so that the higher pressure will be directed to a delivery port.

      Where is that actually located? I have a 13 cascadia and changed every valve and still having a braking issue.

      @@CrodDc5 In most cases, it is part of the Dash Control Valve. However, there can be more than one of the different types of valves, depending on the system and options. if you have an issue with system isolations, the dash valve is a good place to start.

    Awesome video.
    My 2008 Kenworth T800 Quad Axle Dump Truck is NOT Building Air !!!
    I removed the braided line at the Air Compressor and started the engine.
    The compressor is making plenty of Air.
    I reinstalled the braided line to the compressor and removed the airline going into the air dryer.
    Plenty of air there, no restrictions.
    Reconnected the line....
    Then I removed the air dryer cartridge and the air is coming out of the hole offset from the center.
    I applied shop air to the center hole in the air dryer and tried to fill the air tanks there (nothing)
    I removed both airlines from the air dryer and tried to (reverse) airflow through the air dryer, but (nothing)
    Could my air dryer ports be clogged?
    I've used full 120 psi of shop air.
    HELP, I'm stumped.
    Also, what are the "Standard Colors" of air lines?
    Thank you so much.
