Thank you for an excellent Dhamma talk, Bhante. The maps were very helpful. Sometimes we forget what great distances the Blessed One traveled, on foot, even late in his life. A perfect model of Virya.

Your choice of this really pleases me. A seminar in the final teachings of the Buddha. I thought I lost out when it vanished!

Thank you for the very concise Dhamma Talk. Always very helpful. A question concerning good governance. You said one should not take it literally as one can cherry pick. You cite another "socialist" sutta to make your point.
Two problems I have with your comment: First, where does "don't take it literally" begin/end? Second, I don't think the second Sutta you mention in this context can be taken as a pointer to socialist ideas. To lend money to people and/or give land to them is the opposite of leftist ideas which want to control individual freedom under a state rule.
Buddhism has helped me a lot to see the great value of tradition not only for my personal wellbeing but as well for the wellbeing of whole societies.
Therefore I think it would be good to take the advice in the Parinibbana Sutta literally, and I wish my country would follow those seven rules wholeheartedly. If it did I am very sure we would not have most of the problems our society has been suffering for the past centuries.
After all: That's what the Buddha said to keep a society prosperous ...

The Kuru destroyed the imperial Yadava in the Kurukshetra war 1500-1200 bc, under the Babylonians and broke the spine of the Indians when they replaced the superior theology of Sanatan religion with Semitic Hinduism, practicing ULU culture of the Semites. The Indians never recovered from this shock when they were forced to practice an inferior religion that preaches man and god are at par. This led to a culture that went back to the ways of their earlier culture of 'karma' by Buddhists and Jains. Even today the Indians are subjugated to worship Ram (Ramses II). Until Mamta Banerjee defeated Modi's BJP/RSS in election of 2021 and reinstated Puranic Goddess Durga, debunking the worship of Ram, after 3200 years after Kurukshetra war.

Ur mentally ill lmao. The oldest teaching of Rigveda is Atman, and Abrahamic or Jewish religions teach that God is far beyond us and is independent of us completely metaphysically speaking.
