If your toes are hitting the front you should definitely size up. Birkenstock recommends you have some room in front and back about the width of your finger, that will make a world of difference.
Hi, thanks for your comment. My sandal does have some space on the front maybe a cm and even more if I move them back, but when you’re walking, your foot won’t just stay in place. It will be moving back and forth and when it does, it hits the border area. It’s definitely something to get used to. I never owned anything like it.
@@thetryitchick I don’t think they should feel floppy, or like your foot is not secure. Thing is, every foot is different and certain styles might not work for everyone. Personally, i do not like the style you have in this video, it doesn’t look good on me and and don’t think it would be comfy for me. Maybe you should try the Arizona, it’s a little more snug and stable fitting with the two wide straps. I only bought my first pair a few months ago, I have the Arizona and the Boston, and they are now the only shoes I want to wear. But even all Airizona Birks are not the same, the leather ones feel much more secure on my foot than the Birko faux strap ones. I think the leather stretches over time, but also conforms more to your foot.
I have been wearing Birkenstocks since the 1980’s and I did get this pair for this summer, the part that goes between the toes, wow it was like a piece of wood between my toes, it was so painful, took me 4 days to become comfortable. But yes I own around 12 different pairs of Birkenstock’s and love them.
i’ve also been preferring comfort > fashion these days. this birkenstocks style is really cute & it’s good to know to size down for these. hopefully it’ll wear in soon & feel more comfortable. i’m glad you touched on the recent anti-asian violence, anything to ensure your safety is so important!! 💓
I think i owned like one Birkenstock in my life. Haha they were pretty comfy . But like after sweaty in them it made this really ugly make in the shoe lol! But they were comfy but not like cloud like. Yay for hitting 1k!!!💕
Great worth seeing review! Really well done and deeply researched. I hope you will give the sandals a second chance even for a long walk! Because what you are suggesting, I can confirm from my own experience: Birkenstock need a slightly longer break in period, where the footbed, which feels hard when worn for the first time, adapts individually to your foot. each time they are worn, they become more comfortable. I put a new pair on first at home and then for outside. Maybe you can do a second review after a few months? Best regards
Cute pair! It’s recommended to wear the sandals a couple of hours a day to break them in, before taking them for long walks. I used to hate the footbed of my Birkenstocks, but the more I used them, it got a lot more comfortable to wear. I’m also a size 6 and I used the sizer they have in the box and realized that I needed the regular fit instead of the narrow ones and I haven’t had issues with my toes hitting the edges of the sandals. 🙂 I think I’ll end up losing a pair if I need to run though, as I don’t have the same pair as yours. Lol!

I bought an inspired pair from a fast fashion brand but they didn’t last (obviously) now I need to invest in an actual pair, they’re so prefect as an everyday shoe
I have been using them for daily walks and I’m starting to really like them! The footbed isn’t as hard anymore and the borders doesn’t bother me anymore 😊 they are definitely worth investing in! 💗
Girl i work in Birkenstock at the moment and in Germany ( where they are produced) 😊 So, the top part is not leather at this model, but a Birkoflor material or Syntethik. They do have ones with leather but this is not the one. And about the front part looks like you got yourself the wrong size ( a size bigger is always recommended ) so u can have the needed space and your toes wont touch the front "barrier". Please get the advices from the sales persons while buying by Birken. I had a lot of customers that were making common mystakes like buying narrow fit when they have regular size feet, or buying a size that doesnt allow them to have the free space needed for this kind of schoes.

The funny thing about this is I had this exact idea to do this video last year when I found a dupe for birkens at Ardens!
