    i saw the thumbnail and instantly knew it was Cezanne! He's my favourite artist alongside Van Gogh. But i dare say, i saw and know more of Cezanne's art than of any other. :)

    In what universe is Cezanne underrated?

      The one where theo married seine and vincent was forced into prostitution. Its easy to mix up with this one because pretty much everything else is the same, but cezanne is a bit underrated in that one. Its weird that this program showed up in ours though.

      Content is good, but not a fan of their clickbaity/misleading titles. Few weeks ago they posted a video on "forgotten" Impressionists which included Degas and Caillebotte, which is far from being forgotten.

    Cezanne underated? Mmm... I dont know that anyone who studies art considers P. Cezanne anything less than one of the great masters of all the history of art....Even in his time, Monet and Renoir visiting him, theyve ALWAYS recognized him for what he was...

    This is great resource to share to ignorant and uneducated individuals. Cezanne and Van Gogh’s are not just Artists. They are truly ideologists who protect their own identities and creativities without influences. The major principle of this universe is to NOT influence individuals wisdom development. I found Cezanne and Van Go did great job to act like a human. I hope everyone can using the history and ideology from Cezanne and Van Gogh to educating those ignorance’s individuals. The evidence of history will focus them reflecting them and their true ignorance through this “mirror”. AI can creat Art but not many ideologies and creativities. This is great education to our nowadays society.

    Cezanne is one of the most celebrated artists of all time. If you use the term underrated, to further focus on his excellence, ok. I can see that. Even amongst his contemporaries, he was seen as a superior 🎨 artist...

    • @markjennings2605
      @markjennings2605 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really , all his contemporaries saw him as the superior artist .
      I don't think so . And certainly he wasn't . His paintings look twee now . Cezanne is now longer contemporary. Van Gogh was a far more powerful painter , with far more versatility of touch and tone and superior draughtsmanship .
      Late Monet is a far more alive painter than Cezanne also .
      Underated ? I entirely disagree , I find Cezanne pretty overated.
      If Picasso and Matisse had not stolen so much from Cezanne and taken his work forward he would not be considered so great . They could steal from Cezanne because his work is always hesitant and in transition . It wasn't possible to steal from Van Gogh in the same way because Van Gogh gives such an intense, brilliant and idiosyncratic statement . Stealing from him would always have been too obvious a steal .

    It always breaks my heart when an artist's painting sells for record-breaking prices because most artist never get to reap the financial benefits of the sale and die broke. Collectors and auction houses reap all of the benefits. The system needs to change.

    • @appletongallery
      @appletongallery 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That’s a total victim attitude. In fact in the 20th Century most artists who were the leaders in their time made fortunes or lived well- Picasso, Matisse, Miro. An artist being discovered after death is very rare-Van Gogh, Henry Darger to name a couple. Celebrate the fact that great art reaches astronomical prices.
