      Only works if you have a very narrow ribcage/straight figure. Otherwise the belt will just slide down as you move. Or you would have to cinch it really tight, which is not comfortable. And for me, it doesn't work even then. Trust me, I tried.

      I love you and your philosopets, but I’m not sure a plus-size outfit is going to be in your wheelhouse. (This advice is GREAT for most people who have gone up or down a size and want to maximize their wardrobe, but it’s not plus specific styling.) I’d really, really strongly suggest you have an actual plus size person review any footage or blog post first for issues you may be unaware of. And it would be really great if you could partner with a plus person to actually demonstrate the style(s).

    As I am a history professor...here is trivia. Why is the Empire waist so called? The high waist the fit right under a woman's bra line was all the rage during Napoleon's empire. So the dress became known as the Empire Drexx.

    • @SparkieGoth
      @SparkieGoth ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The form was introduced perhaps by the 17th century but it was Napoleon's wife, Josephine, who populated the style. See the painting by David of Napoleon's coronation. She is wear a spectacular Empire dress. No where can I find either in Greek or Roman history such a named or styled dress.

      No! I'm a _tummy girl_ (two C-sections) and I wish I had more on top. That way, I would go all out and rock the earth goddess look. But no... 😞 So, definitely no empire waist for me!! 😳

    • @tfloyd6651
      @tfloyd6651 ปีที่แล้ว

      And thus she has other videos, that work for other body geometries. ... for example, mini skirts will never look good on my thunder thighs and flat bottom. But I also doubt she'd be able to pull off a ninja crone style without a good old fashioned matronly body, that take decades to grow and refine.
      .... no one video is going to work for every human shape, in fact no one fasion style is going to work for every human shape and look presentable.
      Yeah! Diversity and Creativity!

    I have a thyroid thing, so my weight fluctuates a lot. I have a lot of wraps and stretchy clothes for this reason. I like the wraps best, stretchy stuff doesn't always look good at every size, but wraps tend to look good no matter what size I am. Sadly, as a curvy body type these tips don't work for me. If I don't cinch in my waist I look frumpy, pregnant, and/or like I weigh significantly more than I actually do. I still love all your videos, they make me smile.

    Great advice. I have gone through your videos. All great advice. However, with your small frame, you'd look good in just about anything. My closets (filled with beautiful stuff) looks like a bomb went off in it.
