I love that almost anything goes with styles of jeans. I hate chasing trends, and would rather update what I have and make it look new again, so thank you for the ideas. I can't do ripped, however, too cold where I live and too drafty lol. It's a practical consideration!
So glad to see rips go out of style. I bought one pair, just for the trend, wore once, felt like I was doing yard work when I went out in public. Was awful.
I won't be doing the barrel jeans or rhinestone jeans either. Grey jeans are awesome. I need a new pair too as I gave away my grey skinny jeans a few years back. I really like washed black too but they have to be the right shade so they don't look like black jeans that are old and faded.

Happy Sunday Jaime, yes, get the leopard jeans! Just purchased a pair and can't wait to wear. When I saw the jean dresses immediately thought of you styling with some old Hollywood glam. You have an elegance that's evident even in casual styles. We all need to shop our closets and try different ways to update what we have. That's why I so appreciated this video!! Will be on hunt for burgundy jeans!! Enjoy the week ahead 😊
Ugh! I love those Colette wide-legged cropped leopard jeans from Anthropologie. And they even have them in my size, 2x! You should definitely get those beauties in your size, Jamie. 😊
I'll bet the leopard will look great on you. I'm quite happy for all the different styles and fabrics in denim. I've never been a fan of skinny jeans--too constrictive. Burgandy would look great in the fall and winter.
I am so happy to get a break from tight jeans for a while! I Love the moderate barrel shape with a sweater that goes just slightly below the waistband. Dark denim is my favorite, or a heavier linen in indigo. I have some beautiful pin whale corduroy in a medium gray with just a touch of grape. So happy that gray is a strong color this fall. I love to sew my own clothing and I don’t go into stores so much as listen to videos these days. The deep maroon denim is beautiful , have not seen much of it around. I do have quite a bit of gray/black linen on hand. There were some updated cargo styles with a looser leg and a boot cut that I have been seeing too. I would like to make a pair to try out the fit/style. Thank you for showcasing denim/this season’s offerings. It’s extremely useful for us sewing folks.
i look forward to all your videos. thank you for making me more stylish at 50. live that all means have a place this season. i think it makes getting dressed more fun and adds so many options to the fall/ winter season which in many parts of the world can be cold dark and dreary
Thank you! This was some great info and how to wear certain looks! I love my skinny jeans and i’m 6:58 so glad you offered ideas on how to wear them and what not to wear!!!
I have all of the shapes of jeans (including barrel) with the exception of skinny jeans. Last year, I bought a burgundy coated denim pair that looks like leather and they'll be even more on trend this year, because of the color! It's only now starting to cool down enough here to wear my jeans again - I can't wait! Thanks for this awesome video, Jamie ! ❤
So is the trend with socks with shorter jeans for real? How would you wear it? Match the socks to the color of the sweater? I kind of like it. It looks snuggy. I adore denim. I'm really excited about all the new jeans coming out. TY Jamie!
Wouldine the jeans numbered to find them online matched to when you were talking about them. At 7:30 you mentioned an Agolde jean and lived the ones on screen but couldn't seem to find them in the list.
@@martinajohnson8394 Me too. I don't like stretchy jeans for the most part either. They don't last and I don't like the feel of them. That being said, I do have one pair with stretch that seem to hold their shape and I really love them. They are the only pair of stretchy jeans that I have ever really liked. Most though, don't cut it for me. Nothing like a good old pair of real rigid jeans. They will never be out of style.
@@minorityfringe387 only wish the would make the thick 💯cotton jeans again. Outside of some Levi jeans, I find that even though 100% is on the tag, the denim is much thinner. Makes me sad 🥲not just because of that, but because I remember my 20s when I was much thinner and those jeans were beautiful 👖
I live in ankle boots and have many different styles from Granny Boots to Moto/Combat styles. When skinnier legs were in I either tucked the pants into the boots or pulled them over the boots depending on the length of the pants and the shaft height of the boot. With tall boots a slimmer leg pant makes more sense if you live where it rains or snows in the winter. I never understood the fascination of showing your ankles or the whole toe cleavage thing. I have foot and ankle issues after a fall down stairs and reconstructive foot/ankle surgery. Lace up ankle boots and high top sneakers allow me to adjust where things are tight or loose and provide support vs a pull on boot like a Chelsea style. Since one of my ankles is permanently swollen and obviously bigger than the other now I'm not big on showing bare ankles in low profile shoes.
Wow, sorry to hear about your fall! It sounds like you have it figured out and I agree with the ankles showing when it's cold. Doesn't really make sense. Thank for sharing! 💗
@YourGuideToStyle thank you I have all the jeans except straight legs. I highly recommend a pair of leopard print denim they look good with a light blue button-up or v neck cotton t-shirt
For me, Lyocel is too drapey for jeans but drapes and gathers well for styling dresses and button down shirts. Lyocel blends are lightweight and don't wrinkle as badly as linnen. I have been trying to wear a pair of wide leg Lyocel jeans but they just don't hang right because the hand of the fabric is too light. They just pucker and look limp. I will be donating them soon. I thought your pairing of ballet flats with slim ankle pants was a good solution to get another year out of "skinny jeans". 'Could also tuck hems into tall boots. And I still need slim pants to balance some much beloved chunky sweaters, especially layers of sweaters. So pour me a cup of tea so I can read a book on the porch with a throw over my lap. Ahhhh! But I had a hard time liking the Maryjane slingback kitten-heels because they felt too delicate to go with the heavier jeans. It might grow on me as a "wrong shoe" for spring. Maybe ankle socks would balance the total look for fall. But it may have more to do with how I feel about the change of seasons and I am just now packing away summer sandals. I am ready for flats, sneakers, loafers and boots. Where's my tea and book? ❤️🍁☕🍁❤️
i remember i have a flare denim strech jeans with rhinestones on the side slit its my favorite but i don't have that jeans anymore and i gain weight.it's cool to see if its coming back 😊.by the way i have those jeans in 2003 😅
I agree, a wide leg style in stiff denim just won't drape as nicely as a lighter weight or mixed cotton fabric would. I like a little bit of stretch in my denim but no more than 2% or it just won't hold its shape & require washing/drying after every wear. I'd love a dark brown pair of bootcut jeans but haven't been able to find them or they are sold out 😢 I don't really do leather or animal print anymore so a pair of pants in either wouldn't be for me in my current life but if it's your style - go for it. (I did the whole Rocker Chick/musician's girlfriend thing in my 20s 😮) I think overall people just want more comfort & ease in their clothing since the pandemic but don't always want to wear athleisure/sweats/leggings. Anymore I want my clothes to feel like pjs but look presentable 😅

I do love the variety of different styles of jeans that are now popular, but I really hate the look of unfinished, frayed hem jeans.
