Todd really delivered a truly entertaining and educational film. To top it all, he had every camera and lens at hand - something that could never be achieved in a lecture hall. Please thank Todd for taking the time to share his knowledge, it is greatly appreciated and thank you Jordan for this tremendous vlog. Also just wanted to mention - we have been glued to your channel for several years now and every time Essanay Studios are mentioned - we think of Francis Bushman.

This guy has sooo much knowledge! It's important his knowledge is passed on - it shouldn't disappear. All this technology! And we got to watch when you first met Todd. So lucky to be a part of it. Thank you, Jordan.

It's amazing how many cameras he has that were used in the filming of so many historic films. It's equally fascinating how the lenses can make so much of a difference in the look of a scene or movie.

Wow once again, Jordan. Thank you! And thank you so much to Todd as well, of course!!! I'm an old film buff (I'm old, and a buff of old films), and was a projectionist during my college years in the late 60s, when we still had to do reel "changeovers" during the film showing -- I immediately noticed that Cinemascope projector lens (silver with the red bands) sitting behind the camera lenses, and seeing Todd take that lens out and handle it brought back some old memories!
Being the movie enthusiast I am, plus some personal experiences, I am familiar with the most of the stories, history, and usage of many of the cameras and lens Todd was showing, except particularly for the modern-day adaptations of some of the camera movements and lenses...but his actually handling them on camera brought a whole new dimension compared to just reading about them. Todd really brings all of that equipment to a new life, the way he shows and talks about it.

Thank you for this incredible education! My Great Uncle was James A. Fitzpatrick-Producer (The Voice of the Globe-TRAVELTALKS). He also compassionately spoke to us on this subject during his many visits to our Connecticut home when I was a child. This knowledge is so important to pass forward for future generations for them to understand. Thank you Todd Fischer for your stellar commitment to preserving the history of filmography and for passing on this knowledge. Your are brilliant!!! (I totally loved your discussion on Ann Rand “The Fountainhead” references also….such an important discussion that is so often swept under the rug without an6 consideration these days). Thank you Jordan for opening up the minds to our vital history through your excellent channel broadcasting on these many subjects

I would be remiss if I did not my Great Aunt Pauline Fitzpatrick Nelson’s husband Howard P. Nelson (Great Uncle James first cameraman) who was an amazing and wonderfully talented man. These people were all blast when they visited my otherwise drab New England existence.🤣 They had Todd’s enthusiasm! So special! Thank you for keeping that vibe alive, Todd!!!!

Todd is so knowlegeable very interesting to listen to, I agree with him about the black and white films there was a mood and atmosphere created in movies like Double Indemnity or Casablana, and many others. If they had wanted color they would have used it, like they did in The Wizard Of Oz and Gone With The Wind, both films made in 1939. Thanks Jordan and Todd for all the info.😊👍

It’s so cool,he has lenses from two of the best films of the second half of the twentieth century, The Godfather and the Shining. (Imo). Kubrick was one of the truest geniuses in film making and use of the lenses to achieve desired effects. The Shining was also the first film using Steadicam technology, ala Danny riding in the halls.
