It was unique and funny. It was definitely an attention getter, so honestly it was pretty clever for one of the early acts that the audience just usually “tolerates” until the bigger names go on. It accomplished what it intended to do. It was a little long… but it got the audience to stop and listen to him.
@@andyalisago: Thank you for sharing your unique take. I'll tell you what will get the audience's attention instead - "You Can't Stop Me" - or even better - a message about Christ. Also, Andy Mineo is such a big name that he's no longer an "early act" for most audiences. 4 minutes for a short set list, where the focal point was simply on Mineo was too much! The knee-jerk reaction is simply - of course it will be about the artist - they came to watch the artist. However, there is a way to do it tastefully to bring the glory to the King and distastefully. Mineo and Lecrae are masters of the distatesful, while brothers like Trip Lee and KB, bring a level of humility I pray Mineo and Lecrae one day receive. If you really pay attention - it's a catastrophic difference. Discern the spirits, my brother! My concern with this, is bigger picture, where we're headed as a culture - we need to be the church - the hands and feet of Jesus, not continue to feed the culture. Romans 12:2.
