      I hope they come up with a new unit soon, I also hope it profiles.
      I'm actually getting ready to do an episode with the helix right now

    I bough the Purple Nightmares profiles that Tone Wars has on their website and they are the best profiles i have ever used since i got my Kemper when it first came out. They are incredible. They capture that perfect sound i have always had in my head.

    I had the original headrush pedalboard and the original issue was its IRs were weird. Now you can load tonewars IRs onto it and it sounds killer!!! You should do a video on that. The capture isn't great but it sounds as good as my helix and the 7 inch iPad screen is so user friendly. I love my headrush Prime

    I just got in the kemper player and guess what? It frickin blows the headrush core out of the water bug time! Right out of the box there was patches that I really didn’t even have to tweak. I was just able to play.
    Headrush can suck my ass. This thing is going back tomorrow!

    Well said as always. From what I've heard so far of the NAMM videos the Flamma and Mooer units sound terrible too. At least they aren't charging what Headrush is.

    Bought your Brutal Pack Volume 2 for Tonex. Its really great especially the Astro and the Revv gen and I love the DI. Your the only one that I have found to do the DI tones correctly which is great!. Also one question, since I dont have the means to get the 120w revv gen. I am either getting the 100w with the red or purple ch. Which one do you prefer red or purple? Thanks!

    • @TONEWARSgearshow
      @TONEWARSgearshow  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much! I'm glad you're enjoying the captures!
      The purple channel is the famous channel on that amplifier so I would recommend getting that one. It has plenty of gain for leads and rhythm.

  • @davidjoel111
    @davidjoel111 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    When it comes to tone I would totally get a quad cortex but I don’t like the power supply, I wouldn’t feel comfortable touring with it and loosing the power supply. All these units should have the basic PC cable and have the internal power supply like axe fx and the helix, even if it sacrifices size.

    Wanted to mention a related subject about buying digital early. Same thing happens with video games. Usually at launch, they are buggy or even unplayable. Then a couple months later, they go on sale. Sucks seeing it happening in the audio/guitar world. Makes me think twice about buying a new digital piece of gear, especially at full price.

    • @TONEWARSgearshow
      @TONEWARSgearshow  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for commenting. The least they can do is lower the price so that people can get the unit early and maybe then they won't mind if there's some bugs. Paying full price for a buggy, non-functional unit is ridiculous though.

    Amazing. I use the Mud Killer for my Astro also. It is SICK AF. Even on the blue channel. Comp on, pre at 10 tone at 12 and post max. mud at 9. blue and purp gain on astro at 1. Deep switch on. I Love it. Paired with H90 in the loop is so awesome. I have the DI going out to my spark CAB which I love until i get my new Fender FRFR's. Going out the oversized mesa 4x12 cab is too cumbersome at the moment until i move everything in to the new studio room. My OCD and ts9 silver mod are my other boosts/drives. Oh I also have a Magnezium (magnatone tube pedal) which is amazing. Also I use my Spark amp also everyday. Try plugging it into the new Spark CAB. Sounds awesome. So light and small. I might sell my Headrush 12s when I get the Fenders.

  • @JimsMusicJourney

    I have a question about overdrive pedals. Do you think they react the same to a capture in QC or ToneX as they do to the real amp they were captured from? I wonder if the QC and ToneX would react the same with the same capture? Maybe a good idea for a segment.

    • @TONEWARSgearshow
      @TONEWARSgearshow  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question, I know that the captures of those pedals react with the amp captures very similarly

  • @sonicvent
    @sonicvent 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I wish that I would have caught your Headrush review before today! I bought a Headrush Core and have been attempting to capture one amp for hours. What a waste of time! Luckily I have a ToneX to use in the FX Loop! I was hoping to use the core as a all in one solution but that isn't going to happen. The Tonex kills this thing for making correct captures. The Headrush sounds like a toy

    Got the Spark 40 a couple years ago, so glad to have it, and to pair it with an iPad. Boss SD-1 through a JCM 800 still sounds good to me. The Mudkiller is an excellent sounding compliment for the high gain thrash amps. 23:32 argh.😝. Jam on! Purple JP & Banshee Mach7.

    Long time viewer, first time commenter: I like the video chapters. When you start to drone on and on and on and on----The chapters allow me to skip ahead to a new topic. Thanks for reading my comment. Big fan here. Literally. I'm almost 275 pds. So when I say I am a big fan I really mean that I am a big fan.

    Solid recommendations! I have used modelers as a back up to my amps but I just haven't been able to get good live sounds with a modeler. Rhythm tones have been passable but lead tones suck my soul out and give me a headache after a while lol. Very uninspiring feel. That being said I might have to give the Tonex a try. And thanks for the shout out! I will definitely try one of the Banshee Machs when I find the right deal. 🤘🤘🤘

      I've struggled with some of the modelers as well.
      It's really about the impulse responses when it comes to modelers.
      Ever since I made my own IR pack, I have enjoyed modelers a lot more than I used to
      I had to say thank you would really like the tonex
      If you end up getting one, let me know, I'll send you some stuff to try out

    We’ll got the Hotone pulze tried it out the cleans and effects are top notch especially with wide stereo it definitely fills almost any room
    But when it comes to distortion need lots of tweaking they seem all way to bright I think need to load own irs

      Impulse responses are big game changers for modelers
      As soon as I did my own impulse responses, everything in my Helix sounded 10 times better

    It’s funny that the modeler you pick had the same problem when it launched as the one you don’t like. Maybe in 4 years it will be semi complete like the QC.

    • @TONEWARSgearshow
      @TONEWARSgearshow  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for commenting, yeah I gave QC hell about that as well.
      It always did do a great job regarding profiling though.
      When it first came out, the profiles were amazing and it had plenty of effects but it didn't have the other capabilities that they advertised and that was pretty crappy.
      I did call them out on that and I'm glad that they fixedwith some updates that should have been there in the first place.
      I think the only thing left with that unit regarding fulfilling promises, is the ability to use the plugins if I remember correctly

    Here is another aggravation with the quad cortex. When you turn off the unit it does not completely turn off. Lets say you have a power strip. Once you turn on the power strip the darn unit powers on and you do not know it is on because you thought you turned it off and you did but once it sees power again it boots up. Lame!!!! be careful not to cover the unit or you will discover it is on and steaming hot. Poor design. Sorry I am on my high horse today Jarrod. Nothing against you.

    Honestly I’m just glad that sweetwater let me return the core. I thought I was going to be stuck with that pile of shit. Thanks for giving my comment and my experience a platform. I really hope that people see our experiences and stay clear of anything headrush.
    They are garbage. Also, I have the new headrush fr, and I ran the core through it and the kemper player. The core sounds worse through their own speaker! How does that even fricking happen!

      I'm happy to give you a platform. Yeah the headbrush speaker is an abomination LOL.

    i have to say, if you know theory it doesnt mean you have to use it to create music,it exactly like good techniqueand be able toplay fast,you have to have but that doesnt mean you need to use it all the time,.i promise you,when i create my music ill always start the same technique you use-hear it in my head first than play it.but when im done,i always have the choice to use theory to make more intersting, specially on the harmony side which really makes the diffrence.i think you have the wrong idea about theory,not only it doenst limit you,its actually make you more creative and a lot more interesting to your audience.so if you dont know theory that doent mean you are a bad musician / guitar player,but take it for your consideration that you can be a better one

  • @brettphillips2309

    lol give it another month. People shouldn’t have to give a product so much time to be good. It should be useful from the get go, and headruah stuff is far from useful. I had the core for about a month, so you know how much playing I got done on it? None! Absolutely none! I was constantly tweaking presets and I really couldn’t come up with anything g that was decent

    I am sorry to say the moment I saw the headrush I never liked it. As far as I went was the look of the device and then heard the tones and within a few minutes I never gave the device another thought. Sorry, It was that bad. I believe that was years ago. There are so many other choices out there. Why give it another chance. It is like my Quad Cortex. Neural told everyone that we will have Neural plugin access. Instead they lead us on and we are still waiting (is it 3 or 4 years now? I guess they hope we forget). Then give new purchasers a free plugin while all of us veteran users got zip. Sorry, I am still upset with them.
