It’s kinda odd that the GBA port of Super Mario World and Super Mario 64 DS are the only games that slow down the music when in Balloon form. The GBA game slows down the Level theme while the DS game slows down the “Powerful Mario” theme. With that said, I was a tad disappointed this trend didn’t come back in Super Mario Maker 2.

Well I guess that finally answers my question. The p balloon came from Mario World, and I thought in that game, the power up had a limited time, which was why you had to keep collecting them. My question was: does the p balloon in Mario Maker 2 have a timer like it used to in Mario World?

No, the P-Balloon in Mario Maker 2 is now an independent power-up, meaning that your character will not deflate after a while. Also, it's much more fun to use in Mario Maker 2 if you ask me
