Just add a picture of the doggo face that pops up during on screen when he barks! It adds to the comedy of the situation for the us as a viewer, plus then we get to see the doggo :D

It'll also encourage more viewer interactions with the video, and help out with the algorithm! It's crazy the amount of people that'll like and comment on a video, just because they see an animal during it, lol.
That would be fun, but tricky to do. Maybe he could trigger it based on a unique pitch that only the doggo uses while vocalizing?
I understand why you don't want Riley barking, however he is just trying to contribute to the community so I don't mind hearing him at all. He is also on Hermitcraft and just wants us all to know it! Mostly I find it funny because I feel like a lot of the barking happens when you start speaking to another Hermit (or I guess they are the clips that can't be rerecorded), so it just feels like he is also chiming in to say hello.
I mean, Grian is always happy to let Maui intervene in his videos, so I’m certainly happy to hear Riley’s contributions

The permits have really helped with interactions this season
There have been a few other instances in this season but that’s pretty much it, I think out of all the Hermits, Grian and Wels are the two who have interacted the least

I am a semi new viewer, just started regularly watching this season, and honestly I find Riley's barking adorable. He's an excited puppy that just wants to be included. I can understand the concern and you not liking it, but it's not overwhelming and most people probably really don't mind. Pets are part of the family, and sometimes they'll interrupt, and that's okay.
Just want to say that it's really nice to see you interacting with so many Hermits this season. You're really feeling like a permanent presence, which is lovely with you being so much more active on the server. Keep up the great work, Wels. xx

Iskalls monstrosity was as hilarious as it was ugly, i don't think i stopped laughing that entire video.
But i do like the idea of getting all the hermits to contribute to a build, you just have to impose a little more structure and order. Wells getting a little advice/contribution from everyone is a great example of how to do that, hopefully he continues getting more additions. (At a minimum getting Cleo's armor stand magic would be amazing)
I honestly like hearing Riley bark because it makes your videos feel even more cozy and like I'm hanging out with a friend.

As someone who has grown up around dogs, I never gave Riley's barking a second thought. My parents have 3 dogs (my furry siblings), 2 seniors and 1 puppy. Peggy is still working on the barking like Riley, so I get it. These things take time.
at this point, Riley has become a character in the series, just embrace it, like Scar did with his cat ;-)
It's fascinating to see how your desire to find a way out of having to do anything with your permits is turning into all these interesting little Deals and Interactions. Giving Grian a Kelp permit in exchange for a complete mystery and simply helping you with the layout? Absolutely wonderful.
Hypno's home looks like an ice-cream sandwich on the inside.
His house is kind of an eyesore, there is zero detail or texturing
@@hello_there-kenobi the emerald roof makes it look like it was made by a 12 year old who is new to Minecraft, which is the theme of the neighbourhood so I guess it works.

I for one am quite happy when we have puppy cameos! I get why as a creator you'd prefer a fully controlled environment, but the fact you're giving him such a good life is more important!
the way Wels keeps saying he accidentally built a castle has such an "Help i accidentally built a shelf!" meme vibe to it for me 😅
So Riley is a full on Black Lab? My 5 year old pupper girl is a Black Lab-Jack Russel Terrier Mix (She's the Terrier size, coat of the lab so I call her a pupper even though she's actually an adult), she's learned to only bark as a warning system or when she gets really excited for treats.
But it's all good, I can tell it's a happy bark from Riley, that he's comfortable with you and learning his place.
As others have said with the loss of Jellie and Bishop it's great to have new Hermit Pets.
He's a rescue, so I don't know. He's at least *mostly* black lab.
Puppy borks don't bother me at all, and I'm sure he will settle down as he grows up. In the meantime don't stress out about it, far better to keep an eye on him in the same room as you than to crate him alone somewhere else or let him have free reign of the house at this age
Riley is very cute and I don't mind his background noise at all. He adds a lot of unintentional humor during hermit interactions.
I love that when Riley barks it makes you pause. I see it as a feature of your vods at the moment. I'm also loving the interactions, showing us more of your character, making it more entertaining, for me at least.
Honestly just wish we got pictures of Riley in the videos. Never going to complain about more dog content 😂
I know at least some of us LOVE Riley! He's a part of Hermitcraft and your videos, and it is an absolute joy to hear him included in your episodes! Also he's growing up and learning and trying so hard to be patient, but he is so joyful and energetic!
This individual viewer has zero complaints with Riley appearing in videos as much as he wants, and I do enjoy your videos more because of him!

Dogs will be dogs :) they are loyal and an amazing part of a family. One or two seconds of barking is not a problem considering they are just playing or barking at their own reflection.
Hermitcraft is about fun. People watch for the interactions and amazing builds. People love all the hermits pets (look at scar and xb, and the response they got after their sad news).
Just enjoy the time with your puppy and stop worrying about what individuals you dont know think about something you love.
And don’t forget Rendogs dog also passed away last season as well. Most viewers would have pets and don’t mind. Anyone who is annoyed by your puppy saying hi needs to take the stick out of their… 😂
He is not worrying about strangers, he is about the quality of the video.

Riley is super cute, I love hearing him, especially when he is competing with you trying to talk, the mild annoyance/humor that can be heard in your voice just adds to it. :)
riley is adorable, we dont mind hearing him bark ocassionally, yeah understand u dont want that but you are a human too so real life stuff happening in background is totally acceptable. gotta love the puppy energy tho, they give the best hugs when they dont want to make u run around like a headless chicken all day 🤣
Riley is just wanting to be part of what's going on. You may not like it, I can see why, but if you can't change it embrace the little puppers and talk to him when he barks. Scar used to do it with Jellie as if she was commenting on a build and it saves you having to rerecord or cut stuff. It will also come over as more natural than ignoring the obvious barks.

That explains the barking lol. I could tell it annoys you sometimes and was like why not let me out. It os because is in the "your too dumb to keep yourself alive" phase. Which is both the most fun and most terrifying phase of pet ownership... also prime time for AFV clips

The really funny thing about Riley is that (if I remember correctly) while you were doing House Flipper videos, I thought that the dog barks were part of the game. It sounded like the same bark every time, so I thought the game would just randomly play the same sound effect occasionally for ambience or whatever. XD
Unless my brain is mixing up memories and inserting the barking for some reason, which is possible.
I never mind hearing the pupper!
... I mean wait no, what a terrible thing hearing a dog. Obviously you should do penance by paying the dog tax and putting a new photo on the screen every time he barks. Because it's such a great burden. Mmhmm.

I'm glad you have a great companion, even if he barks sometimes. My dog passed away last year and I've appreciated seeing and hearing so many of the hermits with their own pets, even for those who are experiencing the same pain I have. Someday I'll have a puppy again of my own to bark a lot in all the wrong times. Thanks for the video!
I personally love hearing Riley in your videos, the same as I love any pet cameo in Hermitcraft videos and streams. It's clear that he wants all the attention from you and your viewers, and that you both love each other.
(Also you can properly represent him in game in the next update)
Who doesn't want a good boy? I love the silence after Riley barks so yeah, I enjoy the episode more.
Riley making noise has made me feel like the videos are more... "homey" or "gaming with friends"-like! Don't apologize for the fact that you're human and are taking care of a living being that loves you. Not everyone has silent homes to be able to record in - I'd love to get into making more videos of my gaming time, but I have multiple dogs and a fiancee that games with no space for our own offices and we work the same schedules - these videos make me realize a good video isnt about the silence of the audio, but the interaction with those watching and the content created! ♥ (Maybe do a "Riley Cam" in the corner of speed build times!)
Riley's gonna be your minecraft co-star! He should get his own face cam so we can see him when he chimes in.
Dont let anyone make you feel bad about Riley barking! He will grow out of it and be trained out of it and until then, hes helping you with collaborations and opinions!

One of the reasons I'm not a dog person is because of all the barking but when a CCs dog makes an appearance in any way I always smile because "pupper!!". I giggle when he barks in the middle of a clip lol He'll learn, just have to be stern, loving and patient. Until then, I actually look forward to more badly timed borks xD

If you told me last year I’d be clicking on a Wels episode before Tango’s or Joel’s, I’d call you a doctor and think you were UNwels.
But no, the neighborhood hermits have been my favorite part of the season so far.
And seeing how spicy you were in Hypno’s episode about Jevin’s interior work was hilarious 😂 and unexpected. (I love it and there is no such thing as too much pink, sir!)
And here in the first minute I see Big Business False? Yes, please!
Grian actually keeping in your scene with him was the best part of his entire episode for me. You stood out as a really cool guy and I hope that translates into more viewers coming over to check you out and staying awhile. (I just saw a Etho fan comment on Stress’ episode yesterday that they came over to subscribe after hearing her contagious laughter.)
This cross-pollination has always been what Hermitcraft has been for me and the cool kids clique of hermits that have been limiting this over the last couple of seasons have been turning me off.
Scar cut you out entirely from his episode. Scar has been embracing this childish character over the past seasons so seeing him communicate as an adult with you was so refreshing. But his viewers were deprived of getting to see you. It’s shocking to me; this isn’t the Scar I knew in S4, S5, or S6. I don’t mean to pile on Scar like this (as I said, it’s a certain clique); it’s just that it’s most relevant to you atm.
Honestly i watched scar and grian and mumbo in season 9, buuuuut, i decided to give zedaph a try and actually loved his content, as well as welsknight since he dosent appear a lot but he did in scar and grian’s season 10 episodes and his base got me interested in watching wels hermitcraft season which is pretty kool :)
@@dry4smash946 I love to hear that :) Seriously, it’s music to my ears. Hermitcraft isn’t a singular person or a few people. Hermitcraft is all of the members (and I know it’s unrealistic to watch everyone but giving at least 1 other smaller hermit (and in your case, 2!) a chance gives you much more of that community feeling Hermitcraft thrives on. It’s like the Life series. I don’t know how people can only watch 1 or 2 people… on the same team/faction. It just limits the full experience picking a member or 2 from all the factions, otherwise you miss out on so much!
Zedaph is underrated though he’s been putting out unique and creative interesting and hilarious content out since S5! (He got a maaajor boost in S7 after trading bases with Grian for a few weeks, speedrunning to 100k and over, similar to how Skizz got a massive boost with becoming a member!)
If you’ve not ever seen ITSLAM, please, you must lol It’s 4 or 5 gameshow episodes called “Is That Sheep Looking at Me?” in his S5 and S6 with 3 guest hermits each time.
It’s so difficult to pick a favorite since they’re all so funny but the one Doc appeared in spawned an emote in his twitch; that’s how iconic it was. Zedaph had Tango, Mumbo, False, Cub, Bdubs, Keralis and a few others I can’t recall right now. But they are so worth it.
No context needed as there is no storyline except Zedaph and sheep LOL
Also, do yourself a favor and watch his S6 Halloween episode. I’m fairly certain it’s episode 13. He has many guest hermits in it but I won’t spoil. It’s a contest, sort of xD. He promised a prize for the winner but I don’t believe the winner ever got something. Except the prestige of being THE best at the contest.
Scar actually did showcase the stuff he did with Wels and included part of the convo at the start of his sixth episode! It was between 4:16 and 5:46. Kinda short but he didn't cut his fellow hermit out of his episode? Unless you mean another instance.
@@miniciominiciominicio yeahhh, i am pretty new at the hermitcraft series in general actually, obviously i knew about it all the way when season 6 if i remember correctly but i have never really gave it a shot especially that i always say “i am not a fan of survival so why would i watch survival content”
Until i saw a video that talked about the life series and how great it is so i decided to give that one a go and I honestly think it was genuinely the best mc series i have watched in general , i have never really felt attached to the events of a video or anything but man, watching life series really kept me excited especially limited life
And so i decided to watch hermitcraft maybe around when decked out 2 was running which is a pretty late time for me to watch but ay I enjoyed it, i binged watched all of grian’s seasons except season 6, as for season 9 i watched scar and mumbo and grian, and yep, i really loved the content, glad that i gave it a shot really
As for zedaph’s videos that you suggested to me, they are definitely pretty silly, its the reason why i love zedaph, hes such a wild card in general

The puppy stage is a roller coaster, full of great joy and immense frustration. 😂 I don't miss it, but I have some fond memories from when my gal was a pup.
As someone who has a very young corgi, I understand the struggle with trying to keep them behaved and needing them insight while they are in training. Personally it doesn't really bother me, but I do understand where you are coming from. very cute pupper indeed!
I love Riley! And the various deals with getting help for your base are super fun to watch, I love how there's so much interaction this season!
Dogs do what works for them. If you interact with him when he barks, he'll bark more often. If you interact with him when hes quiet, he'll be quiet more often. Its just his voice:). If youre consistent with how you react to his voice, he'll quickly learn what you like. If repetitive barking makes you get up and walk away from him. He should stop pretty quickly because he wants to be by you as much as possible. Theres a lot more to it than that and all dogs are different but the general idea is to reward good behaviors, and interrupt or ignore the bad.
Yay, Riley!!! I understand you not wanting him to bark during your recording, and I think your mindset on new puppy care is spot on! It's always good to hear that dog owners are considering their dog's mindset when dealing with their habits during formative years rather than flying off the hinges and possibly setting the training back.
I think the dog barking in the background makes your videos more real and down to earth.
Doggo is adorable. I love hearing him in the background. Someone (sorry, I don't remember who) had suggested getting a dog in game and have him follow you around. He will be the barker! I had thought that was a great idea. Either way, I have been watching you forever and I love dogs. It doesn't bother me at all, if fact, I love to hear him say hello!
(I have a barker, too and she never grew out of it)
If you want to build a "bridge" from Hypno to your place, I'd recommend looking into Ravager catapults. As in, the contraption that flings you out at really high speeds by using the ravager's knockback while being partially inside it, and blocking with a shield. That way, you could just catapult someone from one side ofthe river to the other. Tango built something similar in his toon towers 2 seasons or so ago, to get to the shopping district faster.
I love to watch your videos after a long day as I'm winding down for bed. My dog and I sit on the couch and cuddle while watching. What has been great recently is when your dog barks mine will get excited, so it's a nice reminder to take a break and enjoy spending time with him.

Raising a puppy is always an adventure! But it’s fun one. I personally don’t mind it at all. I thinks it’s very charming and it will be fun to look back on someday when he’s an old man

You have run into the same problem as Skizzleman, making the terraforming harder, by building exactly at sea level.
Gem was „scolding“ him a bit for that, as it limits what you can do to blend it with the shore lines.
Jevin's interior is the best I have seen in a long time. It looks amazing. His color choices are perfect together. Hypno should get Bdub's opinion on it.

I love your dog barks! Super cute! My dog likes to bark only at Amazon delivery vans, other than that he has to try a few times to speak on command successfully. Hope yours grows out of it soon, I know it can be annoying when I'm in a meeting and my dog is losing it because we're getting a delivery lol

My doggo likes it when Riley says, 'Hi!'. It's nice that you keep him with you, and I agree it's a lot easier on the house.
You could ask Mumbo to build a retractable drawbridge between you and Hypno, if they're both agreeable!

It's great how much delegation Wels has done of different activities- from builds, shops, and decoration.
Riley is fine. I imagined he buts in with suggestion and heckles on conversations with other hermits. Or maybe giving out suggestions when you're building.

So nice to see how well your castle is coming along! I think it is such a good idea to hire False for the riverside walk/portion and to get some help with the interior layout as well. Not sure if you need any inspiration on the interiors, I sure love Cortezerino's work if you do however.

ok 2 things... 1) riley is adorable! and 2) something to "mitigate" the times when Riley barks while recording that you cant cut, is just throw on screen a quick edit a picture of the cute doggo.... then people that do have an issue of the barking will suddenly be like "aww cute dog" instead of any negative thoughts.... That said honestly i dont mind the barks that are on camera, i understand fully that feeling of an "in training" 11 month old puppers who is adorable..... just a thought! Been honestly loving your Season 10 content so far! Keep up the excellent work!
Since all the other hermits are getting custom textures in game, get one for a wolf that looks like your dog to have in game :)

This season for my idol from hermitcraft has the feels of wels kingdom series and i seriously love it!
I used to have a phobia of dogs and hearing barking in videos was one the things that made me want to work on my anxiety around dogs. Now it's an absolute pleasure hearing happy doggos.

Holding a festival in the castle sounds like a lot of fun, you could set up mini games and set up little street vendors with food.
Riley's cameos are incredibly cute!! As the other comments mentioned, you're a human and have human stuff happening :) Riley is apart of the community and we love him.

growing up with dogs, the pauses you take when he barks does make me giggle, for my family we would be like making silly faces to ourselves and be asking the pupper to ssh. dont worry about it! you are absolutely doing the right thing and its funny, like other commentators, if he barks again just add his little face when it happens!
I don't even like dogs and it brings a smile to my face each time he barks. Makes the video feel more personal.
I've been loving Riley's input on things! So happy to see him in this video! Maybe when the wolf update hits the server you can track down a black wolf to have him join you in your fantastic castle village!
I personally love hearing Riley, it helps to show there is a human factor to yourself as a content creator and I happen to love that connection! I know in time the barking will subside and you are a great dog dad!! Just know I, and i'm sure many, don't mind hearing him at all. Keep being awesome and thank you for your service!!
I dont know about others but i like the barking.
I think one thing that might make it fun is whenever he barks include a fun gag like cutout of him barking on the screen or in the corner.

You should have trader villagers located strategically thru the castle .. so like, a librarian in the wizards tower.. a fletcher at an archery range outside.. the smiths in a smithy, a cleric in a nave/chapel... etc.
Makes me smile so much whenever I hear a non-PapaK Hermit saying _booshes._ Makes me giggle every time.
