    This is such an awesomfe idea for summer time charity giving. They would be perfect for nursing homes or skilled nursing facilities as they are less likely to harm fragile skin. Of all the items i needed while learnin g how to use my body after my quadriplegia reversal....this would have been perfect when i graduated to showers. Thank you so much for this tutorial.

    Jayda I saw this tutorial just before Mothers Day. I made one of these a washcloth and a loofah for both my mother and grandmother. They both loved them. Since they both have physical disabilities that makes it difficult to wash the bottoms of their feet without assistance this helps them be a little more dependent. So thank you again for your tutorials.

    Thank you SO much, this will save me so much literal pain!! I’ve been making lots of washcloths lately and can’t believe I didn’t think of this, but I’m so glad you did. Bless you!!💗💗
    I also think a knit version made of a very long strip of garter stitch would be nice. Knitting takes me longer but I enjoy it more, and I think it would end up softer. This is such a good idea, adaptable in so many ways!

    • @mallory1304
      @mallory1304 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve been looking at long handled shower brushes and realized they all basically look like wooden spoons with brushes or loofas glued to the ends, and I’ve been scheming about a way to wrap and tie a washcloth to a wooden spoon so it scrubs well but is easy to take off and wash. This is much more elegant🤣 I can’t wait to make this!

    Question/tip for you: when having to sew without a long tail, have you heard of doing a slip knot on the opposite end from your yarn needle instead of just tieing a knot? It works the same way as tieing a knot yourself but you don't have to stop to do that. You'd use it like you do with your little knots after you're done sewing.

    How do you stay so cheeerful and up beat with arthritis? I struggle with my motivation lots of days to do my yarn work

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Leticia, some days are harder than others, that's for sure! Finding things that I enjoy (like crochet) helps a lot. I also find that I'm not as stiff towards the end of the day so that's a good time for me to crochet.

    What do you think of combining the scrubbie yarn with cotton yarn to make this?

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Barbara, if you want to mix scrubbie yarn into a body scrubber, so long as it's cotton, it should mix well with normal cotton yarn - give it a feel first! You don't want it to be too scratchy or rough :)

    That would be good with scrubby yarn too, wouldn’t it? (For exfoliating)

    Thin strips of netting attached to the yarn makes it exfoliating.

    G'Day Jayda, in Australia we don't use weight to categorise yarn we use ply, so what ply would the yarn you used be? weight is how much yarn is in each ball e.g. 100 gr, it's very confusing trying to work out what to use for each project. I have some 4 ply cotton that would be used for doilies, would that work for this?

    • @jasmine-ruff-puff9951
      @jasmine-ruff-puff9951 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm Australian too, I Google Ravelry's yarn conversion chart when I need to. It says "size 4 medium" is 10 ply yarn, also known as Worsted or Aran. 👍

    • @grandy2875
      @grandy2875 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jasmine-ruff-puff9951 thank you for this info...I'll have to remember that one for next time. I feel like a bit of nit when people talk about yarn weights in anything that it's "ply" wouldn't it be nice if there was a universal term for yarn sizes?

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Grandy! I think the ply you'd be looking for is like 8 or 10. Here in the Americas we don't use ply because that only refers to the number or strands wound into the yarn we get (which can vary like crazy across a weight category). I hope that helps! Thank you for watching!!

    RA stinks in ways those not dealing w it will never know BUT for me personally I crochet in spite of it to keep my hands and fingers going but that’s just me.
    If we don’t smile the alternative isn’t too good right?
