Martindale Electric Hpat 400 Pat tester Unboxing and quick look

This is my new pat tester

i brought this product to help me further improve my electrical knowledge and to help aid me when i make products/ rewire products now i can apply the required pat tests
Disclaimer- for those of you asking me 50 million times ive had experience in pat testing i am in college studying this therefore i am competent enough to perform these tests i understand the risks associated with pat testing. I know how to undertake Formal visual inspections and what to look out for

I've just got one of these Martindale pat's. When testing class 2 items I always get a message asking if item is switched on. I try again after turning the item on and get same message again. Any help?

i have the same issue i just tend to skip it as a electronic push button is not engaged unless its plugged into the mains things like heaters kettles tend to pass that test as they have no electronics

Could you do video testing a class 1 and class 2 item? Much appreciated if you can.
