Mr morale and the big steppers is in my top 10 favorite albums ever. It’s beautiful, introspective and artistic while still having some amazing playlist songs like n95 and count me out while still fitting flawlessly into the overall concept.
It’ll take time for people to realize how good this album is, it is essentially the same as Mr. Morale. People will discredit it because it doesn’t have enough “bangers”
It does, did they listen to album, United In a Grief, N95, Worldwide Steppers, Count me out, savior, all of these tracks are so amazing, that i don't know how to describe that.
Definitely a great album. I think people may be disappointed by it, but I think it just wasn’t what people were expecting. Give it some time, and it will be a top Tyler project.
Yeah this is an amazing album but I understand criticizing the rollout because it gave the image of a more intense album than it was. It’ll be a grower.

🖐️ Actually I’m a bigger fan of Mr.Morale it’s my favorite Kendrick Album, I like the vulnerability and writing with well blended beats. It’s a hot take but it’s what got me into Kendrick
Do you think the line "I've been touched before" on Melt session 1 was due to Mother I'm sober breaking the ice of that kind of assault in the rap community. Either way Denzel should be congratulated for the boundaries he pushes in that song. I love the new Tyler album.
Take Your Mask Off reminds me of Mirror in Kendrick's Mr. Morale Album. Both of these songs have this peaceful harmony and melody, and both of their songs talk about themselves or to themselves.
The second I started listening, I was drawing parallels to that album. I never realized that Tyler openly talked about it's genius though. I like that he took inspiration, but did this introspectivity in his way
Literally my thoughts exactly, Def feels like his Mr. Morale. It's not exactly my personal favorite album of his, But its still a great album & Clearly means alot to Tyler. Overall its like a solid 8/10 for me, I could do without Judge Judy & Sticky ngl, But the rest of the album was killer, Def in my top 3 for AOTY, But i still have ILDMLFY at #1.

Bro, after listening to the album, I literally came to the exact same conclusion. I loved this more raw and introspective route he took. Definitely felt like he opened himself up more on this album than ever before
the amount of references/similar vibes that a lot of the Chromakopia tracks have to The Estate Sale is very telling, it almost seems like maybe he made The Estate Sale as a test for Chromakopia and then realized he had to start from 0
I don’t know, still feels like somewhat of a victory lap album part 2 with Rah Tah Tah, Balloon, Sticky, even Darling, I felt like it wasn’t introspective because it seemed like Tyler was expressing that he has options so he doesn’t have to fit into society’s expectations. Kendrick’s was way more deep as it was an evaluation about his behaviors and the root cause of them. Feel like Tyler has been dealing with PPS more than anything
I’m already tired of this comparison. Most artists have a genuinely personal and introspective album. That doesn’t make it their Mr. Morale. Kendrick didn’t invent the concept. The production, aesthetics, topics being tackled, and pretty much everything are completely different from Mr. Morale. Tyler’s album has accessible production, and easy messages to digest despite how personal they are to him. The production on Mr. Morale is inaccessible and challenging to compliment the hard to address topics being brought to the table ranging from gender to sexual abuse. Chromakopia says “her, him, they, them I don’t give a fuck I don’t trust anybody.” 😂
@ I’m as big of a Kendrick fan as they come. That’s probably why I’m upset by the comparison. Mr. Morale is so deeply personal and topically important. It’s way bigger than Kendrick. I love Chromakopia to death but it’s an album that’s deeply personal to Tyler. Both can be enjoyed but in very different ways.
This is better than MMATBS in my opinion, not only is he honest asf but I here’s a song for every vibe (like Mr morale” but most songs are better. Higher highs higher lows
I KNEW that he was inspired by Mr. Morale. I listened to it a few weeks back before Chromakopia came out, and when I saw Tyler with the woman and child in the NOID mv, it all clicked. I am not surprised that album influenced him so much. It’s a great album, and it really makes me feel good as a woman to know that men can empathize with our hardships and still face their own moral dilemmas.
Me my little sister and brother listened to it all together and right after we finished talking about our favorite songs I said that this is Tyler’s Mr.Morale from the introspection on every track to his mom talking which leads to the song where is Tyler “reaction/repsonse”
You could tell it was going to a be a huge reflection album by the SORRY NOT SORRY music video. I knew it was going to be his “Mr morale” I was hoping his character was going to be himself like the one killing his past identities. Not Chroma. But still an amazing listen.
I had the same thought while listening because chromakopia sounded like Tyler venting out his emotions. Some music in the albums didn't sound like it was made for a hit song, same as Kendrick's album
I think this album is from the other guys perspective on Igor because Igor showed his love to a guy who loved a girl and in chromakopia it showed that the main character is showing love for a girl
“Take Your Mask Off” doesn’t seem like it’s hyper critical of himself unless it’s a many years younger version of himself. Other than that, he hasn’t been hiding his sexuality so.
Not only that but sonically too, the voice inflections black and white and jazz elements in his last video remind me of Kendrick, his mother being the narrator of the album same as Kendrick’s wife on MMATBS, some themes and executions are similar, only problem is that Tyler is not half as good of a rapper as Kendrick is and it’s way harder for him to entertain us on a beat by simply rapping, the production makes up for it a bit and I think it’s better than in Mr.Morale but it aint at the same level as Mr.Morale all together
Chromakopia is i think the opposite of igor in igor he says i wanna be found but in chromakopia he says “i dont wanna be found” maybe just a coincidence
