That question of does more muscle mass make your VO2 lower is interesting. If you just add muscle without increasing your cardiovascular fitness it might. Like elite bodybuilders probably don’t have a very high VO2 max. They’re not doing much intense cardio. However, in general, probably for most people, the process of adding muscle that is tissue that uses up lots of oxygen (well vascularized with a lot of mitochondria) will increase your VO2 max. Couldn’t understand that dude’s answer. All those EKG leads not necessary for VO2 max measurement. Yeah bro, wear running shoes for a running test … c’mon! Awesome job! That dude was reluctant to praise you. 54 ml/kg/min for a 38 year old man puts you in the top category. The next higher category is really just elite endurance athletes.
Thanks for your response, bro. Good points. I just know that if I take one week off of cardio, it feels like I'm starting from scratch again. One of the worst feelings haha, that's why we gotta stay consistent. I'm shooting for ELITE!
Great job 👏 I know you will do better next time! You motivate me to do my best
Never stop! What are you working on this year, fitness wise?
Reducing my body fat percentage and maintaining the muscle I have. This is my 2nd year of continuing my fitness progress 👏
That was so interesting. Never done that test. It looked hard.👏
It's definitely not easy. But do we want it easy, or do we want it great? =)
Now I definitely want to do this test! The VO2 Max score on my Oura ring doesn’t look right 👀
