Rumor has it when QUEEN took to the stage and started performing, the Lady from Belgium called back and asked them to turn it UP!

Legend had it, Chuck Norris was due to perform after, he couldn't sing, but he didn't care. When Queen passed him on the way out and said good luck...Chuck said, "Na, you're invincible", true story. It was on the news and everything

@@ReactionRetreat Sorry to hijack the thread but talking of charismatic front men, have you done any reactions to INXS (in excess) great band and Michael Hutchens was a superb front man. Try the tracks Listen Like Thieves - Never Tear us Apart - Don't Change - The Stairs - New Sensation, to give an idea of what they are like then just dive in there are so many great tracks by them. I hope you get the chance , can't wait to see your reactions!

@@paulkey6150 I was simply asking if the girls knew INXS as they had a charismatic front man too, I'm not saying anyone's better than anyone else, I watched Live Aid as it happened and yes Queen really were great. I also saw INXS live at a packed Wembley Stadium in 1994 and was blown away again.

I disagree, its not called stage presence, its called Charisma, if you have Charisma, then you are aware of it, & Charisma cannot be bought, & its NOT for sale, Mercury had it, Plant, & Bono have it, if you hav,nt got it , you cannot get it, charisma does,nt have a price tag. r. i. p. Freddie was fantastic. I saw Queen two times in Hannover. The second gig in September 1984 Freddie slipped on stage and damaged his knee. After a little while, he was carried to the piano and played one of the best versions of Bohemian Rhapsody + We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions. OMG nearly 40 years ago. Greetings from Germany.

The was one of the best concerts in music history with an outstanding performance of Queen.
These almost twenty minutes showed you why Queen was so good. Four artists came together to celebrate music and give everything of it to the people.
They are out of any league.
    Freddie was a native entertainer.

  • @spudzilla66

There were 2 concerts that day , one at Wembley Stadium , London England and a second that followed in JFK Stadium Philadelphia USA , it was organised by Bob Geldof (singer with the Boomtown Rats) and Midge Ure (singer with Ultravox) to raise funds for a terrible famine in Ethiopia . There were many great bands playing that day and so the fans there were not necessarily Queen fans when they arrived , but they were certainly fans when they left . There was a global tv audience close to 2billion . It was just an incredible moment in time . Phil Collins (drummer and singer with Genesis and solo artist) played at both concerts , he played in London then left and flew on Concorde (it was a supersonic plane and got to the US in 4 hours) to the US where he then was taken to the stadium and performed once again .

I grew up in the Persian gulf and we had a huge mix of nationalities in my school from everywhere u could imagine. So the concert was actually put on at school so we could watch what the world was capable of when we worked together. It was a great lesson to learn . leading up to the concert we had all been made aware of the famine in Ethiopia (the images are scarred on my memory ). Sadly it's happening again in Yemen now. It's truly horrendous. Yet everyone looks away.

There were many music legends that performed at that concert. Elvis Costello, Phil Collins, David Bowie, The Who, Run DMC, Judas Priest, Tom Petty, Paul McCartney, Tina Turner, Mick Jagger, Madonna, Neil Young, Eric Clapton, REO Speedwagon, The Beach Boys, Elton John, and many more performed during this event. Out of all of them, Queen’s performance still stands out to this day. Freddie left this planet too soon, the world desperately needs someone like him.

Side note, Queen was the best performance of a band at live aid. But I would say 2nd best was U2, they were incredible. Freddie was the best, but Bono was unbelievable too. Both performances gave me chills.

Don't pay attention to the haters, here we call them "trolls" which are also mythical creatures that hide under bridges and scare you :-) It's fun for many of us who have heard some of these songs many times to watch them again with someone for whom they are new, it takes us back to how we felt when we first heard them :-) BTW, I remember seeing this concert live when it was on (yes I'm old :-) ) and seeing Freddie Mercury lead the whole stadium to clap along in time to "Radio Gaga" and thinking this guy is the greatest "front man" (what we call a lead singer) on planet Earth right now :-). Looking forward to more videos. BTW, the American singer Bob Seger has a song called "Kathmandu", wonder if you've heard of it ? :-)

At the time of Live Aid I was serving in the British Royal Marine Commandos in a refugee camp in Ethiopia. We listened to it on the radio. We were surrounded by the full horror of the Famine, but when Queen came on the radio those poor soles who were there even reacted in a very positive way. I remember that a lot of us Royal Marine Commandos were crying watching some of the children dancing along, I'm teary eyed just remembering. I looked around at men I had fought alongside, who were tough, hardened Royal Marine Commandos who had fought a life and death war against Argentinian's in 82. By the end of Queen's set we were dancing with the children. It went along way to help build their trust in us. The famine is only one of many terrible memories I have from 34 years of active service, and over 2 years hospitalisation. But when I remember the smiles on the children's faces, and their laughter at the terrible way we danced always reminds me that humanity will always find it's way through even the worst of times. I only watched it for the first time last year, my son put it on the TV. A lot of memories came back and a lot of tears.
My amazing Wife took me to see Queen at Wembley, U.K., in 1986 two weeks after I got back from Ethiopia as a surprise. I saw Queen live 6 times in all, they were incredible live. And yes, I am an old fart.

It was a perfect ending for Queen. Considering how their performance was the greatest performance of the entire event, they definitely Were the Champions!

I love how you girls love great music! Thank you for this reaction to this wonderful performance by Freddie and Queen! Two more live performances of Queen you should definitely react to are "Love Of My Life" live at Wembley 1986 and "White Queen" live at the Hammersmith Odeon! Best wishes to you with your channel, girls!!

Love of my life no Brasil foi estupendo e maravilhoso porque eles jamais imaginavam que em um País da América do Sul eles eram tão amados, e todos cantaram juntos, em inglês, e isso imrpessionou Fred, foi o maior recorde de publico da época na carreira deles.

Freddie Mercury was the greatest. Queen were unique and the music is timeless. You two young ladies are absolutely cute and I love the way you play air guitar :-D . I would love to see your reaction to the video 'Queen - These are the Day's of our lives'. This is the last video of Queen and Freddie right before Freddie died. It's a beautiful video but also a sad video. There is hardly anything left of the Freddie you know in this video. Greetings from Hamburg/Germany

the charisma and energy one brings to the stage determines how great a singer and the band behind him or her are. Freddy Mercury and Queen brought their A game, both to their concerts and Recordings. The Chemistry between them all showed that they loved their craft and thus masters of it.
RIP Freddy Mercury, I like others think you left us too soon.
Till I can see you reunited with Queen in a concert on the other side....

Very few made to this level.
The Late Elvis Presley and Micheal(the king of pop) JAckson are two other examples of this.
Willie Nelson, Cher( with and without Sonny) and Elton(Rocket Man) John are three others.

I love your reaction to this performance. It was obvious that you genuinely enjoyed it and that brought me joy. I saw them live in 1975. While I was only 16, I left that night knowing I had just witnessed greatness. Love your channel.
