7:42 I consider Faust’s existence as the magician of the Hawkins Pirates to be another major L for Basil Hawkins, considering he already has magical powers.
I do feel like one or two characters are going to turn out to be in a lot more backgrounds than we really realized, there is a part of me thinking Big News Morgans has actually been in the background a few times in his human form.
I always had a thought bogard is the leader of sword, staying in the shadows within the marines, not going to high to have to much responsibility but also has enough reputation to be allowed information into the marines that most don’t have. Putting him in a great position to keep an eye on the marines, while also giving orders to xdrake and other members. Also he has Garp as a mentor/resource. This was typed before I watched.
If you think about it, if Bogard really was tattletailing on Garp wouldn't that mean they already knew that Garp let Luffy get away the first time, wouldn't Garp have gotten some kind of punishment? Or maybe it would have looked too bad, and morale would have sunken. I think he's a good guy. I'm dying on this hill.
This is why grandlines is so sick. He can make a video about something i never thought i cared about, and ill still watch the whole video and be glad i did
Everyone was noticing the Dragon cameo at Rogers execution in the live action trailer but isn’t the guy right across from him Bogard?? Haven’t heard anyone mention him, but as we see Garp there it would make sense for that to be him.
what's really crazy is that we just got our first look at Bogard in the Live Action series too, so they went out of their way to have him there! and it has been said that Oda made sure that the crew knew what to include in the Live Action, and what not... curious
Immaculate timing on this episode, considering that just today we got a set of new pics from the Netflix adaptation that show off Bogard in live action.
If I remember well, this guy was the one who arrested Buggy, when Buggy broke into a secret naval headquarters by mistake, because he was looking for Captain John's treasure, this guy was there, which means he was assigned a secret mission at that time.🤔🤔🤔
More vids like these, I feel like every character has something mysterious about them especially the side characters. It takes active interaction and interest to ever learn about people like Bogard, which I am know excited to see if he appears again
He was sure in his aim and and knew Helmeppo (left side of the boat) would not be hurt by the cannon shot. Thats why he gave sutch specific targeting instructions "Target: Right 12* Distance 8263" then he was just impressed by Coby and decided to test him.
simple, Bogard (portmanteau of Body Guard) was Garp's Stand and he only summons him when he needs to (mostly to give people the illusion that Garp actually needs a right hand man)
Oda can very well have forgotten Bogard even when including him at times, he is super inconsistent after all forgetting Sanji's beard, Zoro's scar or Luffy's giant X on the chest at times.
Bogard being in the live action does mean that Oda does remember him. I think his full power will be on display in some type of flashback against Rayleigh
@@villiannewyork Nah, that's just not true. The character is so forgettable even to Oda that Oda never named him, it was the Toei staff that did so when they had to match the VA name with who he voiced in the credits. He would 100% have *NOT* included Bogard in the Garp section of Egghead if the LA didn't give him so much screen time.
I hope Bogard will get more cover in the future. I'd love to see why he was gone for so long Also i think its odd that Bogard played such a tiny role in the recent chapter
Yeah, even if Oda didn't want Bogard to be relevant fighting-wise you would at least expect to see a single clear panel of Bogard frowning or being sad about what happened to Garp.
Bogard's power is related to memory, and he makes us forget him. At some point, we will have flashbacks from his point of view, showing him saving Garp and the Straw Hats on various occasions. We only remember what Bogard wants us to remember. He's also responsible for our memories of Nami having a smaller chest.
I genuinely believe Bogard is going to come back with a vengeance to save his old friend from the Blackbeard Pirates. At Marineford he was probably in East Blue keeping it safe. He only really vanishes when Sword starts to get mentioned more. So I would assume he's away carrying out some kind of Sword related activities. Maybe he's infiltrated somewhere.
crazy idea, but maybe Bogart is related to the monkey clan. Like maybe he's Garp's other son, or a nephew. It would explain why he follows Garp, even though his brand of justice is different, and why he would be willing to let Luffy get away from water 7. Also, I don't think (although I could be wrong) that it's ever stated that Garp only has one child. Additionally, it would explain why Oda didn't reveal Bogart's real name, it's because it would immediately give him away.
my theory is he was part of the Drake pirates, the crew members we've seen of the drake pirates all wear a hat like Bogard's, so it seems possible. It might also be possible he oversaw the operation from sword HQ, this would explain his absence from marineford.
I'd rather say that he was Drake's instructor who was close with drake and even influenced his fashion and fighting style (a little) or they're from the same country in the same marine organization.
To answer one question, Nami's chest will keep expanding until it gains its own gravitational pull and combine all the 4 seas as one thus creating the All Blue that Sanji is looking for.
It looks like Bogart is in chapter 1087 on Garp’s ship in a very small and unnoticeable panel. He’s cut off on the edge of the page next to Kujaku when she’s talking on the transponder snail (page 6 in the Shonen Jump app version of the chapter.)
I think this is my first time typing in this comment section lol I’ve been watching your videos daily and then as soon as you upload for years dude. You make an already amazing series even more awesome and I appreciate you.
maybe bogard will meet up with the straw hats later on and become an ally of them/ double agent informing them of world gov plans in honour to garp. feels like a nice way to pay homage to fan expectations and garps role within the story in a post garp era
Borgard having a resemblance to an IRL Actor is in-line with the Admirals character design (as well as the Vice Admirals who were said to be nominated for Admiral position) seems significant to me. Maybe Oda really did just didn't care to do anything with him, but at least initially there must have been an intention to make Bogard a powerful character
My theory on Bogard is that he was an assigned supervisor of Garp by the Celestial Dragons, since the hero of the Marines (and a Vice Admiral at that) was part of the D clan. When Garp "retired" to being an instructor, he didn't have command anymore so the World Government finally dropped their patrol. I don't know how much I even believe it myself, I mostly started to make it as a troll theory, but I do think it holds up better than it should.
I didn’t pay much attention to Bogard but now I have questions: Where is he?, does he have a family? Is he a better swordsman than Zoro?, where did he get that cool hat? But what I do know is because of this video I will never look at background characters the same the way again and that Oda has a plan for Bogard one that will surprise us all.
If he was with the Garp since at least Roger's execution then he has to be stronger than current Zoro, probably as powerful as Rayleigh or most closest as the marine swordsman to this level
Boguard possibly ordered the marines to fire on morgan instead of just cutting him and helmeppo is because that gave helmeppp the best chance at survival
It's so disappointing that bogard did nothing on pirate island. Hopefully that at least means that Garp wont die. Because if bogard thought hed die he should have done something
I just realized something, that this video came out right around the release of the live action adaptation which BOGARD is present in! Actually multiple times, but i feel bad for the guy in the anime and the manga!
Oda didn’t forget about him…but I do wonder why he wasn’t on Hachinosu, Garp definitely would have escaped had he been there. I’d like to see Bogard vs Shiliew someday, tho.
Garp could have told him to stay back, so he could continue to coach and look after koby and helmeppo. I probably butchered that name lol. Garp knew this mission wasn't going to end well for himself.
We all know there’s a lot of word play in one piece. So I have to wonder if he also could not only look like Humphrey bogart but also be like a boggart the mischievous spirit in folklore.
Bogard always has been and always will be just a character that Oda can draw next to Garp or his crew looking cool. He seems like he could be a cool character, but I don’t think Oda will spend any time on him. He’s a side character that he can draw fast, and we all know who he is.
You see bogard in Episode 424 as one of the marines that catches buggy and send him to impel down. So you could say bogard is has defeated a emperors of the sea.
We are lucky that we got to see him again in Kuma flashback, probably thanks to OP LA as Oda remembers "oh yeah, I forgot that Garp has right hand man"
I like Bogard who plays a great silent righthand man for Garp but maybe the reason why we haven’t seen him up until resently is maybe he was on a secret mission
ik it was just an opening joke, but canonicly, the reason robin and namis chests keep getting bigger is beculse sangi is cooking them food that does that on purpose, which i find hilarious, lol (sbs, of course, lol)
There is no way that you released this on the same day the Live Action releases an official image of Bogard by accident. Ain’t no way. You had to have known.
@@obad7633 Yea i can see boggard as a secret agent or something else that may be a surprise to others. When I first heard of the 12 holy knights for some reason I thought of him. He’s mysterious and “Oda hasn’t forgotten him”👀
1:53 about that one guy I feel he just a guard for the fleet admiral office room my theory that in Paramount war I feel like knowing garp who really care about people life he would tell bogart to make sure the citizen escape safely and make sure no pirate attack them
Bogard is probably working as a double agent for both Swords and Revolutionary Army with a high position. If Garp isnt the captain of Swords, I'd bet its Bogard, he wasnt at the Paramount War since Garp sent him to assist Dragon, or he was already making Swords. I may be wrong but I dont think Oda would forget someone as important as Bogard, specially as Garp's right hand man which is like Rayleigh to Roger. Either way he's probably going to be important in the future, we just have to wait until probably when Swords get their introduction properly or Revolutionary army makes their move
also imagine seeing Luffy gets trained by Bogard before the Final Arc, just like when Rayleigh trained him. Both right hand men of the strongest pirate and marine 😂
3:44 That still is my favorite scene from the Corby and Helmeppo Coverstory Anime Adaptation: Garp wakes up again, trashes the cannon in the process and mishears the reaction of his man how he was struck down: "What? Someone got hit? Is someone hurt?" He realises that he is bleeding. "Oh *I* am hurt." In a tone like he is talking about what he wants for dinner. Completely unconcerned.

Edit: i just checked. Yeah, we don't even know his date of birth. Which is crazy bcs Oda gave so many insignificant characters birthdates...
@@sofianesk3050 no matter what, let him cook
@@merytale birthday? what? why is that important for you guys?
@@wgnd1614 because Oda gave so many characters with little to no significance their birthday dates, like a one-off marine guy and celestial dragon's pug dog. It makes it as if Bogard really is a forgotten character. That, or Oda does it on purpose for whatever reason
9:25 Dude, the name is right there, Zatsuyou. By the way I checked the traduction, it literally meant "bits and pieces", which makes him a puzzle character only given little traces of his doing right now.
Weird. In the One Piece Wiki, it says that word means ''apprentice''.
Maybe we could explain it as Bogart didn’t know Garp took care of Ace and when he found out he felt betrayed by his partner who seems to care for their enemy and left the marines.
Or maybe the world government turned on him for keeping Garp's secret about Ace. Like maybe the reason he was able to teach the rokushiki techniques to the boys is because he was actually a cipher Pol agent, and when he couldn't keep Garp in check they just killed him
@@noremac7216 But we saw him on the ship with the marines who were escaping from blackbeard's island no?
@@ApocalypticFart that was obviously his twin brother Bumphrey

One piece Instagram!! Just revealed his live action counter part 😂
The editing and research are just crazy good
I hope that Bogard appears in One Piece live action. He is always nearby Garp wherever he goes.
He will be in the live action
If you think about it, if Bogard really was tattletailing on Garp wouldn't that mean they already knew that Garp let Luffy get away the first time, wouldn't Garp have gotten some kind of punishment? Or maybe it would have looked too bad, and morale would have sunken.
I think he's a good guy.
I'm dying on this hill.
This is why grandlines is so sick.
He can make a video about something i never thought i cared about, and ill still watch the whole video and be glad i did
Imagine if Bogard was just like a pandaman
Imagine if Bogard WAS Pandaman.
Everyone was noticing the Dragon cameo at Rogers execution in the live action trailer but isn’t the guy right across from him Bogard?? Haven’t heard anyone mention him, but as we see Garp there it would make sense for that to be him.
Thought it was Sabo
what's really crazy is that we just got our first look at Bogard in the Live Action series too, so they went out of their way to have him there! and it has been said that Oda made sure that the crew knew what to include in the Live Action, and what not...
I love that the live action released images of LA Bogart after this came out
He was sure in his aim and and knew Helmeppo (left side of the boat) would not be hurt by the cannon shot. Thats why he gave sutch specific targeting instructions "Target: Right 12* Distance 8263" then he was just impressed by Coby and decided to test him.
simple, Bogard (portmanteau of Body Guard) was Garp's Stand and he only summons him when he needs to (mostly to give people the illusion that Garp actually needs a right hand man)
Half rt. Bogard is sent by dragon as a body guard and a spy.. every crew has a swordsman, none is shown for dragons crew
i will watch this video again with my friends, except we will play a drinking game, whenever we hear "Bogard" we have a sip
Bogard is LITERALLY marine version of Silvers Rayleigh but if he never got into gambling and other addictions that destroyed his stamina
Since most of my one piece debates come from youtube, Bogard is always talked about 0:08
Liam always manages to make every trivial and meaningless topic seem like a whole conspiracy 😂
I hope Bogard will get more cover in the future. I'd love to see why he was gone for so long
Also i think its odd that Bogard played such a tiny role in the recent chapter
Yeah, even if Oda didn't want Bogard to be relevant fighting-wise you would at least expect to see a single clear panel of Bogard frowning or being sad about what happened to Garp.
Petition for Bogard as next popularity poll raid
That is so fun that the cast for Live Action Bogard had been revealed just now, right after you posted this video!
Wouldn’t it break all of y’all’s minds if Bogard was Imu testing life at sea, scoping the world in secret before ascending once more to rule? 🤣
Bogard's power is related to memory, and he makes us forget him. At some point, we will have flashbacks from his point of view, showing him saving Garp and the Straw Hats on various occasions. We only remember what Bogard wants us to remember. He's also responsible for our memories of Nami having a smaller chest.
Bogard is the leader of Sword and you cannot convince me otherwise. He will be a very important character by the end of the series.
Good Theory. Akoji, Koby and Drake definitely know Bogard on a more personal level.
GLR: "no one knows bogart!"
Tekking viewers: "am I a joke to you?"
crazy idea, but maybe Bogart is related to the monkey clan.
He remembers some times and forgets more often than not.
Crazy timing for this video to come out since they just released more photos from the live action show with bogard being in 2-3 of them
My head cannon was that not every Marine was present at Marineford because otherwise diff Pirates would attacks say Mary Geoise.
my theory is he was part of the Drake pirates, the crew members we've seen of the drake pirates all wear a hat like Bogard's, so it seems possible. It might also be possible he oversaw the operation from sword HQ, this would explain his absence from marineford.
I'd rather say that he was Drake's instructor who was close with drake and even influenced his fashion and fighting style (a little) or they're from the same country in the same marine organization.
@@san-zangorn3721Makes sense to me. I think Bogard being Garps right hand had a part in training Drake
The marines literally say his name, Zatsuyou, when he threatens to unalive Coby...
bogard will carry one piece live action
Bogard is probably the leader of Sword and Oda is probably intentionaly keeping him out of our memory to do a fun reveal
Fun fact: In Japanese, T syllables can become voiced D syllables through rendaku! So yes, Bogard is very similar to Bogart 🤪!
You commented before finishing the video, did u
Oda did nof forget, it was just confirmed Bogard is in the live action hahahaha
Now he appeared in the live action tho and we can see some more of him
Funny if Bogard comes out to be the true leader as sword
Bogard has the Wasureru-Wasureru fruit, the forget-forget fruit it causes Oda to forget he exists
They do call him Bogard in the live action
It's so disappointing that bogard did nothing on pirate island. Hopefully that at least means that Garp wont die. Because if bogard thought hed die he should have done something
What if he’s a member of the royal knights… which would also help explain Garps confidence to deny celestial dragons… beyond being Garp
If bogard ate something like inspector gadget fruit would be another wacky cartoon power
@@utastegood3353 True, and no, you spelled Helmeppo perfectly…nice job.
I want to know more about the character that looks like a dollar store version of Jiraiya from Naruto. Where is he now?
I like to think Garp sent Bogard to protect this home back in East blue during the MarineFord War.
The dictionary definition of "bogart" means "selfishly appropriate or keep [something]" so I imagine Oda's just hiding him secretly as a joke
You see bogard in Episode 424 as one of the marines that catches buggy and send him to impel down. So you could say bogard is has defeated a emperors of the sea.
This is anime only I believe as in chapter 527 you don't see this flashback
I always thought it was strange when people started calling him Bogard when I couldn't for the life of me remember when he was actually named
Bogard is the real lurking legend not Woopslap xD
Bogard left around the time a BUNCH of S.W.O.R.D. stuff was coming into play, so it would make sense if he is the Head or Vice of Sword
Wait, people don't know Bogart?
We are lucky that we got to see him again in Kuma flashback, probably thanks to OP LA as Oda remembers "oh yeah, I forgot that Garp has right hand man"
I like Bogard who plays a great silent righthand man for Garp but maybe the reason why we haven’t seen him up until resently is maybe he was on a secret mission
I used to have that Law & Order scene change noise as my text notification sound. I need to put it in my new phone😂
Bogard was seen on Hachinoso
Ummm... At timestamp 9:25 then who are they referring to as "Zatsuyou"? (Or is that just some Japanese suffix like -degouzaru or -datebaiyo?)
I love your videos thank you for being so great
ik it was just an opening joke, but canonicly, the reason robin and namis chests keep getting bigger is beculse sangi is cooking them food that does that on purpose, which i find hilarious, lol (sbs, of course, lol)
Maybe Bogard has been placed as Sword member Vice Admiral and Garp gave him a task knowing he might get captured by the Blackbeard pirates
There is no way that you released this on the same day the Live Action releases an official image of Bogard by accident. Ain’t no way. You had to have known.
What if he’s actually part of the 12 knights of the celestial dragons? 🤔 😅
I was thinking cp0 as well and that's why his identity is Hadden
@@obad7633 Yea i can see boggard as a secret agent or something else that may be a surprise to others. When I first heard of the 12 holy knights for some reason I thought of him. He’s mysterious and “Oda hasn’t forgotten him”👀
1:53 about that one guy I feel he just a guard for the fleet admiral office room
my theory that in Paramount war I feel like knowing garp who really care about people life he would tell bogart to make sure the citizen escape safely and make sure no pirate attack them
Wrong about who?
We didn't talk about who?
01:34 isn't that Bogard on the left with the stache though? His u can't see me u can't see me nomi is clearly working overtime 🤣
I hope Bogard takes charge after Garp was captured by the Blackbeard Pirates and gets an expanded role.
Missed opportunity for Magman, sounding very similar to madman when referencing a certain Fleet Admiral. Very enjoyable Video though, as always.
3:44 That still is my favorite scene from the Corby and Helmeppo Coverstory Anime Adaptation:
Garp wakes up again, trashes the cannon in the process and mishears the reaction of his man how he was struck down: "What? Someone got hit? Is someone hurt?" He realises that he is bleeding. "Oh *I* am hurt." In a tone like he is talking about what he wants for dinner. Completely unconcerned.
Yes
Bogard
I love bogart
Isn't Bogard present in Buggy's flashback of his time looking for Captain John's treasure? The room he busted into that landed him in impell down?
